    The GS has always occupied a special place in my heart and when the GS F came out, I was like whoa! For me personally it was too big to own, so I gravitated to the IS line. If you have kids, require the extra space, and want performance with refinement (...and not the stigma of a Charger), the GS F is a solid choice. Nice review!

    I was able to trade my GS 350 to a GSF in 2021 and glad I did. It was way less than what they are asking for them now and I got it with really low miles. Had to drive to Colorado for it but driving back home was so much fun. I will never get rid of it!!

      How would you compare your overall experience between the two vehicles? Is the GS F worth it as far as the driving dynamics overall joy of driving goes? Is there too much difference between the comfort level or if the GS F too harsh a ride for daily driving? Would really appreciate a response! Thank you!

    Got mine back in 2016 and daily drove for 4+ years. Was going to replace it with the LC500, but then 2020 took down my business.
    Fun facts:
    I remember when people were getting them in the $60k's in 2016 because they were hard to sell.
    Mine was one of the first, I only had 3 digits in my VIN.
    Last one ever built is ultra sonic blue with black & white interior and is owned by the master tech at my dealer, Lexus of Great Neck in NY.
    Canada got better optioned GS-F's. They got forged carbon fiber trim, heated steering wheel, headlight washers, power trunk, sun shades for the back seats and rear window and media/HVAC controls in the back seats. Not sure why Toyota didn't give these options to the rest of the world. The Japanese market has unique interior colors like orange and black.
    There were 2 Canadian cars that were imported and sold in Florida in 2016. A third one was bought in Buffalo, NY and now lives in NYC, I have seen in person.
    Test drove the IS500 last year and it's not even close to the GS-F or RC-F.
    Here's my dislikes:
    The tech sucked.
    Transmission was hesitant in heavy traffic.
    Seats were not the comfiest, even though they looked great. Heating and cooling was non-existent in them.
    You really had to drive it in sport+ and live above 4k rpm to enjoy it. But yeah, it's a blast to drive.
    If I were to get one again, I'd get the 10th anniversary edition with the blue interior and keep it forever 😍.
    To me, it was the modern day E39 M5 with an auto and I loved it.

      I had identical thoughts after owning and driving a 2016 daily for 2 years.
      Sport+ mode was only mode worth using except on occasion long highway drives - not bad MPG if in normal.
      The transmission shift speed was finicky and slow in auto. But I thought manually up/down shifting in sport+ was pretty quick.

      Same thing with the 2014-2020 IS. In Japan, Canada and the rest of the world you had real wood trim, hybrid, memory seating, auto rear sunshade, parking sensors, power folding mirrors, headlight washers... In the US model they sorta "cheaped out". So unfortunate, but it is what it is. 🙃

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 роки тому +3

      Reliability only matters to those that keep stuff for 300 years. These are luxury products for those with disposable incomes and most likely will own multiple cars.
      There are some great Euro turds out there that I would be more than happy to lease & dump but what people need to understand about Lexus is they actually make a car that communicates with the driver more than a lot of the Euro stuff.
      Plus the NA V8 has more character when equipped with an exhaust. Reliability is a bonus I suppose but not the reason why I like these cars.

    2016 GS-F had fixed Sachs dampers, 2017 and up has AVS. Also the GS chassis is far superior to the IS chassis. I love both cars. Either way you can't go wrong in my opinion. I picked up a 2016 GSF for cheap because someone didn't love it in its previous life. I've been slowly fixing it up to daily drive. I just sold my 2015 Crafted Line LS 460 Fsport. It was mint but I kinda got a little bored with it. The GSF definitely scratches that performance itch.

    • @maxcurry9667
      @maxcurry9667 Рік тому

      @ozhoneybadger They had color swapped it to white and put a bunch of dumb black wrap all over it. This would have been fine if they hadn't forgotten to reinstall a bunch of gaskets and moldings all around the car and hung the doors and fenders correctly. This and they had routed a bunch of hoses wrong under the hood and installed the wrong spark plugs. There was about 12 dents in it all over the place. The tires were junk, the left rear door panel was not on right, there was a few wiring issues in the car. I don't know who the previous owner was, but they were ignorant. Needless to say I've fixed all of it including re painting some of the car. I paint corrected the rest of it. It's good to go now. And no, not all Lexus owners take care of their cars. You can say that about any brand.

    As a previous owner of a GSF. The IS500 is not a replacement for a proper F product. It lacks proper cooling systems, suspension components, and steering refinement for track use or heavy spirted canyon driving. A GSF costs more than a IS500 because it is a superior sport sedan when taken to the limits. Obviously most people are not taking IS500/LC500 to their limits so that doesn’t matter.
    Either way I agree with the rest of your points but I wouldn’t recommend buying a LC500 or Is500 over a F. Then again I traded my GSF for a M3CS so I am biased towards sport/track sedans than comfort.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 роки тому +2

      Exactly if you wanted limit performance just get a 911 GT3 not a 4 door luxury car. So many fail to understand this concept if you want a track car you just buy a track car. The track is just good marketing for these luxury sedans. Means nothing on the street.

    • @lostalx
      @lostalx Рік тому

      The problem is the usage. We cannot know what the original owner did to the car. I cannot trust that, a 60 grand + for a used car is too much even though it's a solid car. And once the warranty expires and it gets issues the V8 work will be higher. So the newer IS 500 is the only choice left for buyers who want a first hand experience of a Lexus. The new IS is not a joke either, the V8 version gets Engine Oil cooling, the reinforcement for the Front suspension system and the Yamaha Performance Dampers in the rear, also an option of BBS Forged, although I like the Enkei ones which are stock. Plus the same transmission used in GS F / IS F. Finally the Redline is 7100RPM. Yea the leather is gone, rear space is limited and lack of other things like TVD but it's the only car left in the market which is a 4 Door and has a V8.

Many like to pretend like they are track day hardasses but if that’s the case, why not just get a real race car like an Ariel atom? Or better yet just get a motorcycle. Reality my friend is much more important to me than the fantasy of taking a luxury barge to a track. The GS F has .6 inches more legroom than the IS 500. A Porsche 911 is infinitely more capable than any Lexus car however a Porsche isn’t necessarily more fun to drive on a street because of this. The F cars and LC are satisfactory on street for it’s organic and natural driving feel plus engine. Not because of the specs because any Euro turd would spank these Lexus cars. It’s hard concept to convey hopefully you understand. GS F is great and pedigree is cool but I think of things more so from the financial/pragmatic perspective

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  2 роки тому +1

      Yea some people mistook me for not liking this car, what people failed to understand was the GS F simply does not make any sense to buy as a used car right now.
      Paying $45k for it 3 years ago with like 25k miles fine that was ok and exactly what this car and experience was worth.
      However now, for the $45k that car is 6 years old with double maybe even more miles than that and it’s not worth it at that point and def isn’t worth spending $70k+ for.
      And regardless of what some people say in the comments, 90% of this experience can be had in a GS 350 F Sport RWD. If you buy an F car you have to put an exhaust on it.
      This is why in this market I only recommend the IS 500 F Peromance new or an LC 500. LC feels vastly superior to all of these cars

The sound as the tach eclipses 7300 Redline is marvelous! I just wish they weren't quite as heavy, or had even a form of F/I on board.
