You are so lucky to have a WinCo. Being able to buy those potatoes really helped your budget. Where I live potatoes rarely get below $1.00 per lb. It was fun watching this after I just made a huge shopping trip to Costco. But I did buy about 4 months worth of meat. Costco is an hour away so we only go every 3-4 months. Good luck with your channel

Great video... you should this as a week to week monthly series. Using items you have leftover from the previous week to build on your menu. I think it's okay to use pantry staples...oil, black pepper and salt... plus any spice most cooks would normally have. I like that you used the ramen...most of these challenges shy away from Ramen. It has its place in budget cooking...ask any college student or single mom. It may not be nutritionally the best but it's a tummy filler. Sometimes that's all you can aim for.

Re: the plain oatmeal. It would be much better with a spoonful of jam. Looks like you had plenty left. You can also put a spoonful of peanut butter in it.

Only difference Iwould boil the corn cob with the potatoes and save some of the water to give a very strong corn flavor by using the water for some of the liquid in soup. Otherwise excellent onall

I just found your channel with this video in my feed today, so glad it popped up! Never have I seen a 5# bag of potatoes for $0.48!! 😮🤩I wish we had a Winco in Florida!! All your meals looked fantastic - especially for $25!! I'm totally into frugal grocery shopping and making the most of every little bit and bite that we are blessed with, so I really enjoyed this video and had to sub. ❤

I shop at Winco too. I buy sales at other stores, but I know when it comes down to it, Winco is cheapest on basics and some paper goods too. Whatever I can’t get at Winco first I might get at other stores.

I am from England and I could easily live off £25 and eat healthy and have fun flavours. I watch these videos and I'm always grateful that our prices are so cheap even with the cost of living. Sometimes they seem expensive but compared to the US they are cheap.

A home made pie crust would have made gorgeous pot pie with the chicken and veggies. Potato and veg water is good for making gravy. Also the cooked chicken juice is perfect to make a gravy with the potato water. Add a bullion cube, if needed, pepper, and parsley with cornstarch as a thickener and walla, gravy. Our Gandmas had to use everything available back in the day. That meat juice is great to freeze in ice cube trays for depth of flavor in rice, pasta and potatoes. Im getting much better at keeping it especially with oils and butter being so expensive now. I keep breakfast sausage fats now after cooking the entire package. It makes quite a bit of tasty juice cooking it this way. I just freeze the cooked sausage and reheat it saving me time. Our local butcher sells meat cheaper than the local food store and its much better quality so don’t shy away from the but her shop if you are lucky enough to have one 😊

I did this for years, you don't need meat. You buy oats, rice, pasta, tomato paste (add water to make sauce or soup), a few basic herbs/spices, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, frozen vegetables, flour, yeast, sugar, corn meal, baking soda, baking powder, lentils, beans, tofu. If you are not vegan you can get some eggs, milk, tuna, sardines, cheese. Bananas are the cheapest fruit or apples in season. It requires some basic cooking skills but it's still possible to do it. 3 meals a day, little snacking if any, don't buy processed foods or junk food. If you eat meat it will be difficult. This is what I did. Please don't tell me I will become a diabetic eating like this, it is not true, I have done it for years. If you have dietary or medical restrictions then maybe you will have to do something else.

I don't think it's reasonable to not use salt and pepper for these challenges. Even if someone doesn't have them in their pantry, packets are available free almost everywhere, and nobody will complain if you take a few packets now and then.

You could have put the rest of your veggies in the alfredo, and some chicken in the spaghetti. But you did amazing. If only you had enough money to buy a small amount of cheese for grilled cheese, cheese on the chicken for spaghetti, and a little on your alfredo. You also could have had a baked potato with shredded chicken, butter and a little of the alfredo sauce or that cheese you couldnt afford on such a strict budget. lol But otherwise you clearly showed that you CAN eat on a tight budget if you have to. Honestly, most people include salt, pepper (spices from your cabinet if they are familiar ones like italian seasoning or cinnamon) and oils when they show these types of video challenges. So you could have purchased that coveted cheese. lol
