Thanks ever so much, Gary, Janis for this lovely video - and what a gorgeous summers day you chose. I am ashamed to say I never visited this property, although I have visited Rye in the past. National Trust do such an amazing job at faithfully maintaining such places, both inside the house and the garden - very, very pleasant - so thank you :)
Thanks so much, it’s quite a small property, and only opened fully to the public in recent years, parts were rented out to a few literally figures. It was wonderful to visit on a beautiful summers day, as well as then having a stroll around the streets of Rye. As always, thanks for taking the time to comment. All the best, Gary & Janis
@@OurWorldForYou Ah, only opened recently, so would not have seen it anyway, which makes me feel slightly better :) Watching this a second time, I realised my late Aunt and Uncle owned a Georgian house, not too dissimilar to this property in Royal Tunbridge Wells - our base for many a holiday around the South - it was a very comfortable home, large and rambling - gentile but perhaps ever so slightly shabby - ha ha !!!!
Hi, Thanks for the comment; I thought I mentioned that - there's a few other less know literary figures too, as well as a actor or two. Interesting little home and garden. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment, All the best, Gary & Janis
Hi, no, we haven't; we'll have to see if we can check that out. There's a few works we need to catch up on two because we've never read any Henry James, and only seen the TV adaptations of E.F. Benson's work.
well made video E F Bensons books of Rye with Miss Mapp are very funny
Hi John,
Thank you again, I think they paint a wonderful slice of our history, and Rye, helps you experience it.
Cheers,
Gary & Janis
