that’s true, but why go take a mock driving test if your knowledge, skills, and practice aren’t nearly up to par for it? i think she just needs more practice before she even thinks about a test.
I feel for this girl spending her money on lessons with an instructor who can’t even teach her to move off properly because I was in the exact same situation. After 20 lessons I wasn’t incredibly far off from where she was in this video. I’d do the same clutch only technique because I learned in a diesel and that was what my instructor taught me to do. Only after changing instructors, and stalling a few times in a petrol car did I realise why. This girl can definitely pass, she just needs more practice and to be taught correctly! Hopefully she will be back better.
I know many will disagree with me BUT in my opinion, I don't think driver instructors should be alow to teach in diesel cars, i fully understand the reason BUT its a huge difference between diesel and petrol , after few lessons with an instructor i bought my own car(petrol) and holy mother of stalling, I went from 'im decent at starting the car and never stall' to pretty much 'omg please no car behind me at a red light)
This is exactly what happened to me! I had no idea petrol cars were different until I changed instructors. My first was really unprofessional as well. She would take personal calls during my lessons and fail to turn up on time. Wasted my time and money.
I agree, I did 10 hours with an instructor that was useless didn't feel like I was getting closer to being able to take my test changed to a new instructor did 7 hours with him and passed first time
I just got my drivers license but the car I was instructed in was a diesel, once I switched I didn't know what happened... I was never told that it i should use the clutch only in a different car. They should 100% warn/tell about this. And hopefully they stop teaching in diesels because I now have to learn on my own ...
Bless her you can tell she’s completely shut down when he’s talking to her. I really hope she either gets a new instructor, or gets more practise with the basics. Hope she doesn’t stop from this.
Shes come for a mock test but hasnt done any maneuvers. Then she says she has probably done them but not sure. This is why Pin is a brilliant instructor because he has so much patience and just laugh it off.
What’s he supposed to do? Yell at her? Kick her out of the car in the middle of nowhere? She paid for this and it’s his job to assess her driving, nothing more. Don’t know why some people praise driving instructors so much for being normal decent people. Maybe most instructors are just dicks Idk.
@@wwe52891 she hasnt paid for it. Its free. Its the instructors time and for the you tube channel viewers to get and view some good content. It defeats the purpose of having a mock test if you have not done any maneuvers. Hope that makes sense for you.
It’s all a learning curve, it will take a lot of work and focus to get this young lady ready for her real test. Stay positive and keep your head up high 👍
To be honest reading these comments as a learner would have put me off continuing to learn. She obviously thought she was further ahead than she is. Yes it was a shocking drive, but isn't that the entire point of the mock tests, find weakness and focus on correcting them. As pin said, don't get discouraged, everyone on the road has to start somewhere and everyone has made stupid mistakes of which don't end after passing your test, just become less frequent! Good luck
It is true that mock tests are there to work on your weaknesses but you should still be reasonably near test standard before you do them. If you keep stalling and don't know how to do the basics correctly you shouldn't be doing mock tests.
No no no, if someone wouldn't know how to even move off properly, whyd you still do a mock test??? Stalls over stalls literally his back n head must've been damaged so bad. She needs to ask her parents to help her learn etc but other learners shouldn't go thru this
Nahhh not this many mistakes. I was creasing in fear for half this video😂, almost like a learner who’s taking the exam on her first lesson. Just a mess. Hopefully she changes instructors and passes🙏
It's really sad.... I notice the pretty black girls on here always have very rude comments directed to them their name and everything. But other girls Nd guys get a brake. Racism
I think your confusing negativity, with constructive criticism, and being reasonable. Like, she obviously wasn't prepared and she was "still learning" why did she make the appointment in the first place?
I don't think you can blame her if she hasn't been driving for a prolonged period of time. There's a reason why pilots need to be trained to takeoff and/ or land ideally every 90 days or less (which has become a more apparent issue during this pandemic), otherwise the proficiency to fly an aircraft diminishes overtime. Therefore, being able to fly in the simulator and/ or real life relatively regularly will enable the pilots to eradicate or drastically limit any 'serious faults'. The same could be said for driving.
@Aug 99 🤫😆of course. I hadn't ridden my bike for a few months during lockdown. I was able to get used to it within 10 secs of riding it. Riding a bicycle proficiently is something you most certainly can't forget after getting used to it. I haven't taken driving lessons yet but i'm pretty sure the same could be said for driving. Anyways, this learner needed a little motivation. However, you can tell that she has little interest in driving if she stalls it countless times
I have to disagree. I've gone prolonged periods of time without driving, for example while living in London, but the moment I get behind the wheel of literally any car it comes back to me within a matter of a couple of minutes. I do really enjoy driving. I enjoy just going for drives almost everyday (both before and after living in london) Edit:.... didn't see this comment is a year old haha my bad for the noti
@@565656gooner I have my licence and I agree with you. I’ve gone over a month without driving or where I drive a different car and I can drive it confidently without the need to practice on it. Driving comes quite naturally and easily. I can see where you’re coming from.
Mate. she's here for a mock TEST. No one is telling her to be excellent at driving. But when you know you can't even use gear 3. Why would you sign up for a mock test? Tests aren't for learning, it's for assessing what you have learned.
There NEEDS to be a part 2 to this one in the future. Preferably after she's spent the next 6 months committing herself to The Ultimate Driving Course and Jesus Christ.
@James Stewart Yeah, I agree. Also looked like she was absolutely rattled after making a few mistakes, and lost all confidence - which would have made her driving even worse. Would be really interesting to see her come back and do this again in the future when she's more confident and has better driving ability.
Well I had my first drive when I was 12 and I stalled one time, I drove 1 hour and I made 7 serious faults but I was interested in cars before, now I'm 23 I have one 1000cc bike and a 336hp BMW e36 so if you are learning to drive please learn about the basic things of a car
True and everyone learns at different paces but you could tell she was not comfortable or confident at all. She needs a lot more time before she thinks about her test
Oh dear I would like to know what sort of instructor she has after doing 20+hours she should really be at a better standard than this... it’s not her fault clearly poor teaching
This is the worst comment I've ever read, yes having a good instructor is good but all learners learn at different paces. The average female learner takes at least around 35-40 hours to be at a test ready standard.
DomXM oh bore off I didn’t say anything bad I was only saying her instructor should of taught her more basics at this stage like moving off and gear changes that’s all.
DomXM yes, but if she’s struggling with moving off, her instructor shouldn’t be teaching her to use no gas and no handbrake, that’s just bad teaching. Also, I don’t know what you had to say the gender of the learners
Bless her I actually feel sorry for her because a lot of her mistakes are probably from a poor instructor not learning her the basics with proper clutch control keep at it hun you will get there we all have to learn x
I don’t think it’s her fault. Blame the instructor that she was busy learning off them and paying them from start of January as she mentioned . She is definitely not ready to take the exam because as proof shown in this video, The test could be easily terminated. #Fail of the year.
It takes people maybe 20 or so hours of lessons, others 100+ to pass. We’re all different and we were all learners ourselves once and received the same criticism from other experienced drivers. Remember to be kind people 👍🏻
You know what, I watched another mock test on this channel and they got 25 serious faults whereas this lady got 20. Fair play to her, she probably didn't realise she would struggle on her own after receiving help on lessons from her instructor, and she took the news well and seems determined to improve. @@crypticmammoth9603 It shouldn't matter that she's learning to drive in a diesel. Just because you _can_ move off with the clutch alone in a diesel doesn't mean that you should. It's still poor driving and indicates that her instructor hasn't been teaching her properly. You should always move off with a little bit of accelerator.
The Bedfordshireman I think that she hasn’t reached the point where she learns to pull off with accelerator too haha, when I first learnt to drive my instructor first taught me clutch only THEN to implement the gas
Agreed, stayed with an instructor like that for a year and a half and cost me 3 failed exams. Now switched instructors a few months back and the improvement in a few months mesmerizes me.
I learned in a petrol, my first car was a diesel, now I have a petrol. Petrol and diesel feel and drive VERY differently. Even when I had my old diesel, I'd occasionally rent petrol cars for work purposes and it took me about 10-15 minutes to get the knack again. She might be better off learning in a petrol. If that still doesn't help then she might want to just try auto instead.
@@worldcuphighlights680 you can take an automatic test however you can then only drive automatics. I did manual so can drive both. However unless you get fun out of driving automatics are fine. We have automatics and a lot more people in the UK are buying them.

Because she is not a very experienced driver. I have only been driving about a year so still remember what it is like when you first start. Just to change gears is something you have to think about. I would have to wait until i was on a straight and i could think about it. Yeah one you start driving it is just automatic muscle memory and you even know what your car sounds like when it is in perfect gear for your speed.
Ambrose I mean I passed in November. When I was learning, I learned gear changing quite quickly and it’s not that hard to do it while driving. It’s just practise. But what made this video so difficult to watch was her just staying in gear 2 on a dual carriageway.
A lot of instructors wont cover reversing or parking until you can drive and control your car, there is the odd one or two that will fleece you for many lessons you dont need, my daughter was scammed by one about 6 yrs ago, 40 lessons and hadnt done manouvers, turned out he was using his peddles to mess up her driving, she noticed him doing it at junctions, he claimed she couldnt do it, we switched firms and she passed after another 15 lessons.
It seems that her instructor is either teaching her in a Diesel since she's not using any gas when moving off, she just relies on the clutch. This isn't an ideal way to move off as Pin said in a past video since it doesn't work for petrol cars.
Don't give up! I don't even want to count how many hours I did trying to pass. Had one instructor that didn't work out and I ended up getting really bad driving anxiety so gave up. Couple of years later I decided to try again and found a great instructor, but it still took me hours upon hours of lessons to get to test standard. Got delayed by Covid-19 but just passed last month with 2 minors. Honestly, if I can do it with my frankly terrible coordination then anyone can!
First thing my instructor told me "if stalling the car damages the engine, then lessons would be much more than £10 a lesson" Best way to stop a student stalling is to take away the anxiety induced by it.
When I passed, the manoeuvres also included the three-point turn and reversing around a corner. I’m grateful for the detailed explanations and demonstrations my instructor gave me. 40 years later, I never, ever drive forward into a parking bay unless the nay behind it is open. I find it much easier to drive out forward, because it’s so much easier to see what’s going on than trying to reverse out.
I have so much patience with learners, I always give them loads of time and space, but if I was behind this lady here I’d be pisssssed off! She is worse than I was on my very first lesson! But I suppose people learn at different paces

@cats zo i've been riding on the main roads for 3 years and as long as i keep to the highway code and ride my bicycle considerately while carrying out my P.O.M and MSM-like routine (by checking over my shoulder rather than mirrors), riding a bicycle is relatively easy. There will be impatient drivers on the roads that i ride on in London but as long as i carry out my observations and am considerate (which i generally am), i have almost never faced an issue while riding my bicycle. In addition, a smile and a 'thank you' hand gesture goes a long way. Agreed, it might be a little daunting in the first month but after that, it isn't daunting by any means
@cats zo Indeed it can be unpredictable to some extent although good observations, eye contact and consideration for other drivers will alleviate many problems. Drivers are humans at the end of the day and being aware of the type of driver that is behind the wheel of a particular vehicle makes the roads much more predictable, thus the reason why I have rarely faced issues with most bad drivers. As soon as I am aware of a bad driver on the road, I maximise my patience and keep a certain distance from that vehicle if need be. I am aware from experience that drivers generally become much more impatient in the evening than in the morning and I take this into consideration when being better prepared for the roads. There are multiple other factors that I also subconsciously take into consideration to ensure that the roads are relatively predictable and will adapt to anything that seems unfamiliar.
Is you're car a petrol pin? Seems like she's trying to drive like a diesel, without acceleration on taking off. My old instructor was same just teaching to move off from clutch.

Very interesting watching this as a U.S. driver. I just passed my test today after 3 years of permits and constant practice. U.K. driving tests are obviously way harder than what I had to do today (won’t even mention it because it’s a pea compared to this!); this girl is obviously still learning, has a looong way to go, and I wish her nothing but the best. Perfect your craft first, then go for your test!
I dont know how other drivers behave in the u.s towards newbies but here in Greece they show no acceptance at all.. I stalled just yesterday in a traffic light (my 5th ddiving lesson)and everyone behind me went fucking crazy... Which made me veey anxious. But i will learn to drive sooner or later no matter how much they cuss me out lol
Her clutch and bite when moving off is a major issue. She doesn’t seem confident at all with this routine. She also doesn’t use her handbrake after stalling which makes it worse. Not to mention not using the accelerator also.
Isobel201 I agree. But with her level she is clearly not ready to do this judging by the amount of times she stalled when coming to a stop or junction and moving off again. Which is why I said she doesn’t use her handbrake, because if she did handbrake then neutral she’d be able to get her feet sorted, get her biting point and have enough revs to move off again.
As I always say, she will get better with practice and patience. Personally, I think she did this mock test way too early. I recommend people only come for a mock test when they have already covered everything and consider going to apply for a real practical test. A mock test is just to see whether or not a learner is ready for a practical test, it is not just another lesson. I wish her the best in her driving. She will improve. These hate comments are unjustified.
I can sympathise with her, I did 20 hours with a crap instructor and drove just like her until I got a new one and after three lessons I already feel my driving has improved 100%. Some driving instructors are actual robbers, my old instructor didn’t even teach me how to do roundabouts/pull in safely
Bless her! I’m about to have lesson 4 tomorrow, and my instructor has to tell me to come off the clutch cos I’m scared of stalling 😂😂. You can’t learn without any mistakes, honey!
It’s not her fault 😭. It’s her useless instructor. She’s been taught in a Diesel car where you don’t need to set the gas for the car to move. When you switch to Petrol this results in you stalling. This is exactly what happened to me when I switched instructors. My second instructor was baffled that I had been taught like that 😂😂😂
Like my instructor said “you only gain more experience if u fail” and she said “I’d rather have you drive a little faster than too slow like a grandpa”

Well done Bouqui! Just gotta keep going until you’re ready for that test ☺️ He’s so right about saying the routines out loud, would highly recommend even though it feels weird - every so often my instructor will say “What mirrors do you need to check now?” And I’ll say for example “Centre, left”. He also has got me to do commentary while I drive so I have to say “Mirror, signal, position, speed, look” out loud as I do it. It helps with nerves too as if I’m saying it out loud I’m likely to have more confidence with my decisions!
Good luck! Please continue. You just needs a lot of practice. You may want to think about changing from manual to automatic? We all learn at different level. Good luck again.

Damn fucking right, she can’t pull up to a junction, and when asked to divide her attention between outside and inside, she completely failed. I’d be embarrassed if I was her driving instructor, and she had 4 hours of lessons, let alone 24.
She hasn't derive since March and she probably forgot things.. thats happens if you stop practicing for long before you master skills.

that’s true, but why go take a mock driving test if your knowledge, skills, and practice aren’t nearly up to par for it? i think she just needs more practice before she even thinks about a test.
I had the same thing, was completely mugged off by my first instructor!!

BEST COMMENT...
I enjoy just going for drives almost everyday (both before and after living in london)

Mate. she's here for a mock TEST.
DomXM oh bore off I didn’t say anything bad I was only saying her instructor should of taught her more basics at this stage like moving off and gear changes that’s all.
Some people can’t be taught 😂😂😂

Also, it's clear her instructor has taught her to move off only using the clutch. The sign of a shite instructor.
Or a sign that she’s learning to drive in a diesel

Pin, you are such a good instructor! Very informative
She either is lying about 20+ hours or she has a really bad instructor seems abit ‘bouqui’ if you ask me
A lot of instructors wont cover reversing or parking until you can drive and control your car, there is the odd one or two that will fleece you for many lessons you dont need, my daughter was scammed by one about 6 yrs ago, 40 lessons and hadnt done manouvers, turned out he was using his peddles to mess up her driving, she noticed him doing it at junctions, he claimed she couldnt do it, we switched firms and she passed after another 15 lessons.
Exactly because stalling will be just be one and two after you had 30+ hours.
It seems that her instructor is either teaching her in a Diesel since she's not using any gas when moving off, she just relies on the clutch. This isn't an ideal way to move off as Pin said in a past video since it doesn't work for petrol cars.

Or a bike
Or take buses
@cats zo Ha you should driving around Cambridge - the cyclists are total idiots there.

Her clutch and bite when moving off is a major issue. She doesn’t seem confident at all with this routine. She also doesn’t use her handbrake after stalling which makes it worse. Not to mention not using the accelerator also.
you don't always need to use the handbrake when stalling, Pin has done a separate video on this.

Like my instructor said “you only gain more experience if u fail” and she said “I’d rather have you drive a little faster than too slow like a grandpa”
I am 32 and never driven a car before. Just applied for my provisional driving licence and I am so ashamed 😭. Having watched this video I am pretty sure I will have done far worse than she did
I thought of the same thing before I started learning how to drive a manual and I can assure you that it's not nearly as hard as you think, don't let this video discourage you from driving
never too late to start driving, you’ll get there!
32:41 the way he moved his head back unnecessarily and exaggeratedly 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not trying to be mean when i say this but I think she needs a new driving instructor that will actually teach her.
That car was struggling...
She’s only a starter why is she doing her mock so sooon 😫🤍 bless for trying !!
19:25 give way sign but didn’t see it, also as there was cars coming, she didn’t select gear one
These videos are great because when the driver makes mistakes you catch on to what's wrong and start thinking of solutions to go around them which makes me more confident when I drive
Mask was lowered because people with glasses tend to fog up when it is covering their nose, my mum has the same issue.
Honestly, she should've worked on her basics and manoeuvres before taking a mock test.
Not trying to be negative just telling the truth. Learn to crawl before you can walk.
The masks come with a metal strip at the nose that allows you to bend it so there's no gap in the mask and glasses won't fog up. I know this is true because I have glasses myself.
@@adamcowell4349 not all masks have that metal strip
@@adamcowell4349 and it isn't air tight the metal strip doesn't always work. My mum was the one who pointed out the metal strip but she still fogs up anytime she's wearing them
Michael Mccloskey-Ooi I mean... I don’t really know what to tell ya. She might not be wearing the mask properly if her glasses are fogging up because my glasses definitely aren’t.
@@adamcowell4349 Well I don't know what to tell you either. Perhaps it depends on the mask you have. Anyways, it works for some and doesn't for others
Love how you swayed and bopped a little extra in that very first clip lol.
Awww good on her tho for coming on hopefully she gets better x
"When trying to move...Bouqui stalls the car" *eyeroll*
Its like taking someone on the main roads on their first lesson
I am in the Netherlands and during my first lesson I drove on the highway to another city 😂
That's how it is done here in Poland.
My friend recommended me to watch these vids as I’ve got my first driving lesson coming up the day after my 17th birthday and I’m really nervous but watching these has given me a lot more confidence, thank you!
He over did that bop at the start for content let’s be honest 0:01 🤣🤣🤣
i always that that!
Reminds me of that tiktok meme of braking softly and the passengers overreacts
*You are professional driving teacher. My fav part - you not even watch on the road etc, but anyway, spot mistakes*
These comments 😯 Being awful to someone learning is not the way to handle something! Everybody was a learner once, building up her confidence for her future driving is key!
My old driving instructor was so lazy he was always on his phone (playing games)when I was driving and took me to the same places. I never enjoyed my lessons.Wasted a year with him!Now I have a new driving instructor he’s literally the best now I enjoy doing my lessons with him and my driving test is booked!
Great video, such a patient instructor, wish mine was as nice!! I passed my test with 0 faults last August and have been driving regularly for a year, about 13,000 miles since. My instructor’s car was a diesel and we only ever moved off with the clutch at biting point, then moving into the gas. I quickly noticed when I got my petrol car that you have to use more gas. I never set the gas when moving off, thankfully I don’t stall. I was never taught clutch control though, so worried I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time? Hope someone can help!!
