Your such a well-rounded person with a like for many different things. My wish for you is this: One day may you own a home large enough that you can decorate each room differently just like your mother did.
@@justlanchen Let the manifesting begin! But....will the ole' school method of crossing my fingers do? Or do I have to take up some weird, awkward Yoga position? lol...
"Poirot" and "Jeeves & Wooster" TV series also have Art Deco style interiors, which are very practical and comfortable (since the main characters live in the city) and truly old money at the same time.
Also watch Phryne Fisher Murder Mysteries to see how Art Deco was handled in Melbourne Au....I read that the production had a million dollar budget per episode... and it shows...
I am impressed by this style it's very beautiful. Those days are gone, but the collection you've shown are our legacy to improve our home aesthetics. Thanks for showing ideas.
Salt Lake City has some gorgeous Art Deco duplexes and apartments in the Avenues! Definitely worth a cruise through if you're ever in the area :) there's one at the corner of i street and 1st Ave, and if you keep driving west on 1st Ave you'll pass the apartment (565 1st Ave) Ted Bundy was living in when he was going to the U of U.
I found the perfect art style for my flat! And now thanks to YOU I found the perfect VIDEO about said perfect art style! I have learned so much through this video! It is incredible. Thank you !
I’m so happy you liked it! I really want to do an art deco makeover in the future so if I do, hopefully that’s helpful too. I swear I don’t see enough art deco interior design 😭😭😭
Love art deco style! Seems like a lot of the smaller decor pieces shown were more Hollywood Regency than Deco, but there was a natural overlap between the 2 styles as they occurred somewhat during the same time period.
I have several styles I put together - industrial - modern - art deco & cubist. Those styles are my jam. I don't know if there is a name for all those styles put together, but it's mine, and they work. 😊
One of the best modern day films to look at fabulous glam Art Deco design is " Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" with Amy Adams, Lee Pace & Francis McDormand...not only a Deco feast for the eyes but a super fun film. Enjoy...❤️
No way!! I'm also in the process of doing an Art Deco kitchen makeover (I'll be posting it next month)! I would say choose 2 consistent colors to feature throughout your space and if you use a patterned wallpaper, make sure one of those two colors is present in the print. Also, I know this might be time consuming but I recommend taking a photo of your space and creating a mock design in photoshop, procreate or some sort of editing app. That way you can try out as many colors, patterns, decor, ect. you want to see what looks best! This is what I do and it helps tremendously!
don't know how long you've been in L.A. but there's a bar called 'BOARDNER's' that used to have the coolest 1940's art deco interior and some idiot bought the place and switched it all over to this boring ass flat black industrial esthetic i suppose because he/they thought it would appeal more to the goth patrons they have on saturday nights (called 'bar sinister') but i, fer one, think it's a massive loss. but, i suppose, we all must remember there was a time when people hated art deco and longed fer the esthetics it replaced so i guess the beat goes on.....
Oh yes! I know boardners haha I’ve been for ALL the themed nights 😂 I do remember they changed it! The all black was a downgrade from what it was but the upstairs is still cute from what I remember, it’s been a second since I’ve gone. That’s so funny you know that spot!
@@justlanchen L.A. born and raised been goin' there fer decades. i'm alternadude so i like that place. i only go fer 'bar sinister'. liked it more when it still looked 1940's.
Art deco is my favorite aesthetic
Love the fact that you brought up BioShock!♥
It’s sooooo good 🥵
A Chanel perfume bottle gives me Art Deco vibes. Simple, clean lines, timeless, and gorgeous.
you are so right!
The most useful UA-cam video I have seen about this style. Thank you so much! This is extremely helpful!

Omg thank you for saying something so positive. I second that! Let’s manifest together 🥰🥰

Art Deco Architecural style turns buildings into jewelry..various metals with jewel tone flourishes...

It’s so beautiful. I plan to do an art deco makeover one of these days so I can see more of this style in my home. Thanks for watching 🥰
Art deco touches all spheres of life, and its not modern, and not streamline modern. Art deco - its art deco - one unique style.

This was such a helpful video. I wanted to put an art eco room together but I didn’t know where to start!
I need a stylish smoke & drinking “coffee table” with a vacuum tube radio that barley works in a big empty room with nothing else, perfection.

I love art deco. Ive got a picture of this lamp from 1930. The covering over the bulb is shaped like city buildings
Lots of nature/natural themes are art nouveau!
Detroit has some interesting art deco building interiors
Really pleased to find the complete shopping list in the discription, Thanks for the effort!
I tried to find what I could 😅
Art deco, Miami Beach!
Oh yes!!!!
I took an art deco tour while visiting there ;)
Great ideas 🎉
Glad you like them!
Amazing ! This is exactly what I was looking for ❤
Thanks for the video. Grand Hotel (1932) is another good movie to watch for the art deco décor.
Adding this to my watch list!!
Educational! Thankyou!

IM SO EXCITED FOR THE NETFLIX SHOW TOO!!😭😭😭
I'm redecorating my lounge to art deco and I'm finding it quite tricky with lots of clashing colours and patterns to chose from online
