I feel like Laura actually designs something that's archivable (not taking out walls and stuff), Lulas design could be like a hotel room near a beach and Alvin's design is what rich people would maybe do with their space
This was my thinking also!😉
Yeah the other ones look more like hotel rooms. In my opinion Laura’s room could have used some more layered colours rather than all neutral (which seems to be the trend right now).
Totally agree
I feel like what people aren't getting is that it's no clients no restrictions. Obviously if it was for a client the other designs would be more practical.
I came here to say EXACTLY that lol
I love how Laura keeps practicalities in mind without losing her vision for the space. The results are livable as well as lovely.
Laura’s is always the most realistic/real world interior design with it’s proper elements
Alvin’s is just a bit more luxurious. Could be seen if the client doesn’t have specific wants or a budget. Costly but beautiful.
Lula’s… Definitely not my favorite, always out of the box, only would be acceptable to few clients/spaces. But her bathroom in one of the previous episodes was very nice, I just wish her designs were more practical.
@@David.124 Agree! I am sure that the 2 chains holding the bed would never work: no balance whatsoever!
I'm sorry but Laura's ideas were boring. I definitely think Alvin's or Lula's were the best and most creative overall. Alvin's definitely would have been #1 if there was some more color
@@ytchannel1682 I felt the same. Laura’s has been seen over and over again. I enjoyed Lula’s take for a resort. Alvin just blew me away it’s a livable luxurious space.
Laura's feels like every developer rendering I've ever seen.
Lula’s looks like an art installation its so out of this world. Laura’s looks like a beatufiul french hotel room. Alvin’s looks looks like a cozy upscale apartment. They’re all so lovely
I was thinking the exact same thing about Laura’s! Especially because of the curtains. 😂
Lula's vision is really special, it just wasn't something I could live in. But I did love it!!
Love them all. Laura´s is the most livable (and maybe lowest cost), Lula´s is out of this world dreamy, Alvin´s is warm and inviting (but I would skip the sofa to keep it less bulky). Love these episodes.
The sofa was too tall and divided the space in half
Totally agree. I would flip the sofa so it’s up against the tv wall and facing the bed.
It was ruined once he added the sofa
Maybe the sofa had a little bit too high of a back. But you need a place to sit, put on or take off shoes or socks, pants, etc. After having made the bed you don't want to mess it up again.
One glaring flaw that disappointed me with Laura‘a design was that it lacked a tv, considering her design was more real to life.
I love how Laura thinks a lot about environmental issues too, that's so important!
mhhhh no
You're a shallow person. It gets old real quick. Want sustainability, don't buy or renovate anything ever. Don't want to have a "footprint", end it
@@bd3531 LOL true
@@StazKodamano but she still had the most tasteful design
well maybe also the design can be better ...
laura's is super functional, lula's is really outside-the-box but i'm hesitant about the everyday use, alvin's is a mix of both
I agree- Lula’s bedroom matches her spa bathroom design in the other video, which would be nice for a vacation getaway but I wouldn’t want to live there.
If you're hesitant about everyday use for Lula, Imagine if Darren designed this bedroom😂...he would have put furnitures I'll be too afraid to touch
@@MRorizs2 Her bed would probably work better on a platform that can rotate to follow the angle of the sun...so it wouldn't float per se but could be put on a platform with narrow legs to create the illusion of floating...
Laura's bums me out.
Alvin's is beautiful.
I just can't see how Lula's bed could be stable with only those two chains. It's conceptual but impractical.
Alvin's room is the one I want to be in.
Laura: I don't tend to use recess lights in a bedroom, you're not performing surgery, so we like to use layers of light so that everybody looks beautiful.
Everyone: How do I find me a designer like Laura?
Thats really not that special
Literally every second interior design youtuber mentions that
Do your design without designer. It is easier, than trying to find one
Alvin's aesthetic + Lula's color pallette and material choice + Laura's practicality and everyday functionality = PERFECT ROOM (for me)
I really like Lula's room. Very Interesting. But I have no clue how that bed can hang in two chains like that
Neither does she
It needs another chain at least.
Exactly! It needs at least one more. Ridiculous.. not to mention how she has no tables, chairs, artwork, shelves, storage?? She gave us nothing..
It’s purely conceptual, those details haven’t been worked out yet!! The others are much more practical.
She got the wildest ideas of them all but she needs to be more practical cus the bed can't be balance on those chains, it will swing and keep one dizzy or anxious
I always find Laura’s choices so “safe” compared to some of the more “innovative”choices of the others, but by the end I’m always in love with her spaces and want to actually live there whereas I find the others beautiful and very smart, they ultimately feel a little less livably. Such a rollercoaster of emotions with these haha
I find her spaces a bit SIMS, but that may be because of the clinical element of the renders. I think the three rooms would have to be seen in reality to be properly sussed out.
I love how they all spoke so highly of each others designs.
Lula didn't say a word about Laura's design.
@loulou yanks- l noticed that too 😒
@loulou yanis! Predictive text 🙄😅
Laura: I'm designing a minimal but stylish room for a middle age business person
Alvin: I'm designing an extravagant bachelor pad for a successful poker player
Lulas: I'm designing the attic of a tower for the modern day wizard
lol
@@RooniP the last one got me🤣🤣🤣
😂😂the modern day wizard
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
I love how they not only designed the rooms but also the outdoor … tropical sea, city and landscape
I hate because homes don’t teleport. If we are approaching this like an actual home the backdrop and landscape should remain the same throughout all three renderings.
@@flan6449 but that’s not the challenge. They have no client in mind, they’re not trying to be practical. It’s about letting their imagination run wild.
@@Cee944 yeah but it’s not about a client is about a home. If they want to do it that way they might as well let them construct a room from the ground up in the setting of their choice.
@@flan6449it’s not that deep, if they don’t have a client they also don’t have a location, duh
@@mr.icecream7880 what? No a house is a house, Client or not. It’s not like a owner picks a house and THEN decides a location.
Those three are great, laura's design are pragamatical and realist, lula's design are utopian and artistic, alvin's design are hedonistic and creative. If i had to choose, i would choose alvin with no hesitation, this man show us the peak of interior designer : sustainable yet elegant af
I find Mr. Wayne's concept is the best fitting design. He utilizes the space well without crowding or obstructing the natural light. The colors and materials give the room a warm, balanced feel.

Not for a bedroom
Same. He did it best.
But, need to flip that sofa around to set it under the TV.
I love his design. The colors are warm and tranquil which gives a great environment for a restful sleep. Also the hammock looks heavenly and inviting. It is beautiful. It appears as if it has been kissed by the sun.
Living in California, Laura's space is that elevated ideal bedroom that is practical and soothing. Alvin's bedroom would be the perfect warm space to step away from a busy city. Lula's is a dream bedroom and I would spend so much quality and intimate time there. I love this series and all designers!
Alvin wins this one for me, hands down. The warmth and agreement between the shapes of the furniture and archway, the echoing of the lines in the wall and the light fixture, plus the addition of that one "weird" piece in the chaise. I'm not much of an MCM fan, especially not in a bedroom (it veers toward hardness for me), but Laura did a great job if that's your style. Lula's had that crazy billionaire's pad feel, which is fun and creative.
I was shocked a male designed that space. I thought for sure one of the females came up with that idea. He really made everything come together, not too soft and not too extravagent.
I really feel like Lula designs for ADHD people. She's full of interesting ideas and the floor... I really have this sensory thing about soft fluffy things and this space would give me ALL of that. And looking at the "sky" at night... I imagine it would be sublime.
As someone with adhd, i havent seen a single space from her that i wouldnt absolutely hate being in.
lol same, I´ve been watching her designs and it is all I keep thinking about! There´s so many ideas I would love to implement at home or that would even make daily things easier and more enjoyable. Some other ideas I find to be a bit too much tho. In this case, I didn´t really love the bedroom, but I think there have been great designs
whatever you do, do NOT crawl on that bed
Lula’s imagination is just wild. The floating bed? Just two chains? Weight distribution? Oh uhm the fire pit? Is it Really necessary in a bedroom. I’m sorry I just couldn’t stop myself 🫣
I thought the same. You can't enter the bed without it tipping over. The concept might be beautiful but it is not usable.
@@Trykatt key word… “concept”😂
Same, as a practical person, I was just like 👀 the entire time. 😂
It's a fun idea, but shouldn't design concepts be at least somewhat achievable?
Agree! Her pic was pretty but no way practical! His was the best design
That fire pit with all that plush carpet? Can you imagine a drunken trip to the loo from that bed? 🤣
YESSSSSS My fave series to be honest, it's just so fascinating to see 3 different creative style processes!
Totally agree! I love this series. I can never pick a favorite... I just appreciate the different design styles and marvel at their talent!! Love it all!!
I loveeeeee how Laura keeps the ‘sustainable’ and ‘responsible’ in mind. I really admire her.
Alvin’s design is my FAVORITE this episode. It immediately made me feel welcomed in the space and i can envision me and my spouse actually living in the space.
As a person who has a home designed by Alvin Wayne Designs, he is a master at transforming spaces into magical, ethereal, luxe experiences.
Yes like it too
I love this series. In my opinion, the interior designers should accept the given spaces as a positive constraint and not get too caught up in fantasies, no matter how tempting they may be.
Under these conditions, Laura has created an inviting warm and livable bedroom. Alvin a luxury variant with somewhat more extensive interventions. Only the additionally added sofa seems superfluous to me.
They are all amazing but I’d choose Laura’s. I liked her references to sustainability, and the overall aesthetic was great.
I thinks Alvin's design takes the crown this episode. Incredible design!
This video has taught how different people are yet all so creative in their own way
I liked Alvin's design the most. He looks so confident and professional at his work. The second one I like was Laura's idea of that vacant room. I love her energy as well as how she adds a built-in dressing table with white color. And last but not least, Lula's concept and she's tried her best to describe her thoughts. And how to design the room however I guess her design is so straightforward. Yup. Thanks for this concept.🎨
I find these 1 room - 3 designers videos very interesting and useful.
I like Laura's simple, clean, super-practical layout including the desk facing the small window and 2 armchairs. I like Alvin's warm and luxurious atmosphere and furniture style (except for the bed foot sofa). I don't like Lula's design at all. In my opinion, as a private bedroom it's absolutely horrible, even terrifying, but I think it might work well for some really weird honeymoon beach or mountain hotel.
I agree, I think as a bedroom lula's room wouldn't work at all, there simply is 0 storage, not even a place to set your phone down.. weird
Came here to say exactly this. Lula's bedroom looks like a first attempt on a design game app. Utterly impractical. (Seriously, a fire pit and a fluffy carpet? You're asking for trouble!)
Though I can appreciate Alvin's design, Laura was the only one who actually designed for a client rather than herself. She doesn't say 'I' at all in the final notes. Very professional.
Lula's design is just amazing and out of this world. I would love to see more of her work.
Check her Instagram, nothing short from amazing 👌👌
Hers is fake and child like.
@@equanimityzen58 sometimes architecture is just art, meaning that it doesn’t always have to be a livable space. The whole idea of the video is for artists to create whatever they please with no limits since there is no customers.
@@kathleenmelonashi9078 given she included a bed & fireplace, we can assume she is attempting at creating a space that is liveable or with function. Her design, however, is not following the most basic principle of form follows function. Even a space that is created just for the purpose of artistic expression has function. Her design lacks any real meaningful consideration of function.
@@equanimityzen58 nope, I'd be ecstatic.
Lulas design was marvelous 😍it had all the elements that our planet has. So creative and gorgeous
Lula's design is so artsy and creative like you're living in a fantasy (fantasy in a sense of not coming from this world like something I would see in a story) but not too much as it's not good to living bc it would be completely impractical AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH I love unusual interior designs
Her designs are ridiculous. How’s she even a designer with no concept of reality. That bed hanging on two wires? It would 100% tip if it only attached to the bed at 2 Points.
And she changed every single thing about the room. Why not just make it into a sauna room with a helicopter landing pad and swimming pool and bowling lane, and add a second story and loft space?
Alvin's room takes the crown for me. Beautiful, warm, cozy and luxe! Love it
I love all the designs, don't love how easily window's/light is narrowed & how easily walls are torn down for new windows.
I get that they have no limitations, but without limitation anything is easy to change into a dreamy idea, an idea that isn't achievable.
I'd like to see this format but either with pricing, or, basic limitations.
That's more interesting, because we can either copy-paste the inspiration at home, or understand what it actually takes for this design to be achieved 😊
Yeah agreed. If they are given a floorplan for the entire house, and a general location, I feel like we'd have a more genuine render rather than imagining that making windows in a wall won't be windows into a kitchen or bathroom. I love the ingenuity of the designs but the changing of the architecture feels less realistic without a full understanding of what the space would actually exist in.
And also with out changing the view...
same thought. it's not "the same room" anymore if i can tear down all walls and suddenly teleport to a beach paradise. kind of defeats the point of this series :/
And it is only Lula who seems to do this (I watched this one and the bathroom one). Unrealistic and kinda unfair.
Its all achievable, just know your limits
I fell in love with Alvin's design!! so peachy and calm- I would never leave my room!!!!
LOVE this series! I would like to see dimensions of the room added in the future so each designer can understand how big the room is. While Lulas room is beautiful, It feels like her proportions and scale are way off - She assumed the room was massive, while the others assumed the room was modest.
Completely agree. The bed itself is extremely clunky and does not seem stable at all, especially with 2 thin chains that arent near the middle, it seems that if you lay on just one side it'll go lopsided.
Love love loveeee Alvin’s design oh my god. The attention to detail and the creamy earth tones he used in the bedroom is so perfect. Really appreciate it when designers can transport a space/room and add diff cultural elements.
10/10 would let Alvin design my room 😍
im actually obsessed with this series
In each episode, I find myself drawn to Laura's practical yet comforting designs. If I had my own home, and the money to hire a designer, it would be Laura FTW.
Laura's designs are always my favourites, practical, natural, sustainable and easy, love them 🥰
I love elements from all 3 designs, but in terms of the overall design, I think Alvin's is my favorite. I love how modern and livable it looks. Although Laura's is definitely not far behind! I love all the natural elements. I would love to have Alvin's room in my main house and Laura's as a bedroom in a vacation home. Lula's is very fun and I love the circular shape, but I don't think it's the most practical and the color palette isn't really me. It also doesn't immediately read cozy. Perhaps my younger teenage/early-20s self would choose this one since I loved ultra-modern designs back then. But as I get older, I prefer a mix of homey and modern. :P
I love Alvin’s take it has the right mix of design, color, texture and also practicality. 👍
I love Laura's sliding doors and sun room. I like Lula's walls, side wall windows and carpet. I really like Alvin's lighting, the bed and night stand.
Alvin's design is so warm and cozy, looking at the room from one end and it feels cohesive. Its the best of the three designs!
Alvins eye for especially bedrooms is so unique and his take on color & print and detail! I loveee!
I love Laura’s the best. It’s peaceful, warm and inviting. I couldn’t sleep or rest in Lula’s design because of the bed. I’d probably rest better in a bathtub.
Of the three designs, I love Laura's design. Thank you, designers.
So Lulas design felt relatable in the sense that people would see that room in their home, Laura gave hotel/spa vibes that took you to another country, Alvins design shined for me, because it felt like a bedroom in the best way, i wanted to sleep there
The series everyone loves ❤️ This is a great inspiration for future designers. Once again, perfect video AD!
@@dankaustin6247🤞I could only hope
Laura’s space is so thoughtful. Huge fan of the super long desk under the window
Alvin is stylish and homey, Laura is ideal classic hotel setup, Lula is for sci-fi movies.
Lula's room feels like u shouldn't be sleeping there
this should be a show! i absolutetly love these series cant get enough!!
Interior design masters on Netflix is great to watch
Back and better than ever! Please never stop this series, its the pinnacle of my joy!
I love this series so much; I look forward to every new episode. It's amazing how three creative visions can start out with the same materials but look so different and compelling for different reasons in the end. My favorite here was Lula's because I think it would feel like walking into a dreamscape, but the other designers' styles are also amazing
Laura won this one for me. She is really thoughtful.about the space and the environment. Her space is warm, welcoming, and calming. You are hired Laura.
Laura hit the nail on the head with this outcome, beautifully explained and justified!
I LOVE their mutual admiration for each other’s designs !
Love all POVs - and how complimentary they are to each other.
I admire how each of the three designers has their own unique tastes and styles, yet they remain supportive of one another.
Each is so beautiful in its own way. At first, I thought I was going to really dislike Alvin's, but I thought it looked amazing in the end. Lula's is gorgeous and so imaginative, though perhaps a bit too dreamy for my everyday taste. Laura's is perfectly styled and very practical. All are lovely!
Love the Laura`s design so much. It brings me French vibes, like I`m sitting in front of the window and watching romantic view in Bordo.
The Jetson-esc design of Lula isn't inviting enough for a bedroom to me, but as a hotel suite it would be great! Laura's design was very grounded, but it had no layers or pizazz though it did remind me of Cali. Alvin had layers and texture with style, luxury and cozy, maybe he spoke to my city girl heart, but his room had the best overall dream bedroom appeal to me!!
Lula's design is stunning and it is place where people fokus on each other, not on environment. Like personal heaven ❤
Okay. So this is the first time I've seen a scenario where all 3 designs were superb. I think all 3 designers did an amazing job of creating amazing designs that still felt realistic. I loved Luna's design in terms of shape and concept because that floating bed is genius and that constellation ceiling is gorgeous, but I loved Alvin and Lula's color scheme. I would definitely combine all 3.
Lula: there’s an undeniable aquatic/beachy theme here, which isn’t necessarily a bad it’s just very niche. I can’t imagine decorating my bedroom like that if I don’t live somewhere coastal. It’s also very empty, like it’s literally just a bed and a little sitting area. Nothing wrong with minimalism, but there’s not even anywhere to set a drink down! I detest the hanging bed, it’s so impractical given one of the more common activities done on a bed 😅. My last gripe with this design is the lack of diversity when it comes to the silhouettes she chose. I mean there is not a single straight edge in the entire room, everything is rounded off. Overall, I really don’t like what she did with the space.
Laura: by far my favorite! It’s just so classic and versatile. My favorite part is the French pocket doors, absolutely genius way of dividing the space.
Alvin: I do like his design overall, but it’s not something I would do with my own home. The color palette is way too neutral, and I think the hammock is cliché. I also just cannot get passed the fact that the sofa at the foot of the bed is taller than the bed. If you were to lay down and watch TV the bottom of the screen would be cut off. Speaking of which, I really respect the fact that he included a TV. Why are designers always so averse to having one?? No, they’re not the most attractive but they’re a necessity. That’s like designing a bathroom but not wanting to have a toilet because it throws off the aesthetic.
These series brings me so much joy. Please don't stop making them.
I really love Lula's mystical and magical way of designing
Laura Hodges speaks my language! When she said “sun room” she just won my heart! If I ever win the lottery and buy my dream home I’m hitting you up girl!!!
Lula is so creative and the room is such a pretty aesthetic
Alvin's feels personal and livable beyond sleeping. Laura's has a corporate extended stay feel with the desk and sleek cleanliness of it, starched. Lulu's seems best suited for a resort type, or house for short stays. For those reasons, I pick Alvin's, (except I'd pick a different chandelier).
That desk would be my makeup area! Love it.
Laura's design is warm and earthy.
It would've been a nice touch to have sliding doors in the sun room, opening to the outside, Parisian style I suppose.
The smaller window, depending on the view, stain glass might be interesting... Clear textured or subtle colours.
Personally, a fire place with 2 cozy chairs, gives me a sense of balance. Both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Emphasizing the warmth and earthiness.
People complaining about Lula’s design clearly didn’t understand the brief… THEY HAD FREE REIGN! They could do whatever they wanted with the space, she was brilliant 💯
I didn’t think I would like Alvin’s because I don’t usually like luxe or modern, but he did something unusual and made it so warm and cozy, instead of stark and cold. I’m surprised at how much I like his design. The one I was least likely to like is some how my favorite lol. But I like all 3 for different reasons.
i absolutely loved alvin and laura’s designs. lula’s was nice too but it cant be my everyday bedroom; gives a creepy bedroom in ur dreams vibe
Laura’s is obviously the most livable and the most bedroom-comfy.
You can tell she does a good job not only keeping in mind the project at hand, but budget (no matter how low or high), the clients desires, practicality, transitional ability and luxury while simultaneously pushing HER vision for the space and expertise in the field.
She seems like the most transitionally capable designer.
Lulo is GREAT for grandiose, high concept design. She REALLY is talented at recreation and reenvisioning (or even originally envisioning) a space as something BEYOND the average. She would be an AMAZING design hire for public spaces or even super high-end audacious mansion design for the wealthy.
Alvin is EXACTLY who the rich (rich is very different from wealthy lol) and famous would and SHOULD hire.
His concepts are very clearly high-end, chic and tailored.
He seems to be very well versed at resourcing amazing materials from seemingly obscure foreign/international sources. He seems to really be able to extract the true aesthetic and potential out of natural elements i.e. how to translate the aesthetic/of a tree or a forest or the ocean into designing a livable functional space. He seems the most likely to be able to construct original design from the ground up. He’s a happy medium between Laura’s luxurious sensibity and Lulo’s high brow conceptualism.
They are all really great designers. Good job AD.
A beautiful view should never be covered up! Laura always understands the assignment 👌🏼
Lula's design always amazes me ahah Laura's is always the more down to earth and Alvin the more lux style. I like 'wow' and different so I would go for Lula's even though I think the bed would need more cables, physics will send the bed all over the place, jumping into the bed would send it crashing on the wall ahah
It all just comes down to personal taste, all 3 are pretty good.
Hands down to Lauras design! Simply beautiful and appealing! Something I would like for myself!
The blue bedroom.. very artistic.. dreamy.. creative... love it!
😍😍😍
Lula 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😍Technical details can be achieved very easily.. (the hanging bed, lower seat place, fireplace..)
😍An almost empty room have space enough to customize it with more furniture..
😍 I like the fact that it's a bedroom.. not a little house in one space.. or a hotel room..
😍 A beautiful place to dream and rest.. if that's what you want..
Lula has won my heart ❤️. This room is opening a window to heavens
Laura's design is stunning...just LOVE it !!!
I love this series! AD finds such amazing designers. Beautiful perspectives!
B. I believe Lula, hit it out the park!! So creative and imaginatively done well! ‼️
Laura made a great working space, that's for me looks perfect.. enough for papers, for legs and outlooking the nature. Brilliant!
Loved this video! Great to see 3 different design concepts! 💕
I wanna know how an interior designer can change the view out the window. That's a serious trick.
I am obsessed with Alvin Wayne's design, it takes the win for me😍😍😍love it!!!!
Laura’s design is my favorite I love how intentional it looks.
Lula's designs are PURE MAGIC! She's so artistic with her designs yet they're totally livable. This is not a bedroom, this is a sanctuary. I can't say enough about this amazing series.
For the “floating bed” idea from Lula, I think a little modification could work. I would put a “transparent” circular base at the bottom of the bed in white or very light beige or some kind of metal that can hold the weight of the bed. The chains are too awkward and there are just too many safety and practicality concerns for everyday use. Aesthetically it’s also an eyesore to see two strings/chain link to the bed…
I am genuinely OBSESSED with Lulu's vision. The comments really don't give enough appreciation for her creative talent! This totally motivates me to become rich enough that I can afford her as an interior designer and create any design she can imagine.
I love this series - thanks AD for this concept.
These are my 3 favorite designers.
Lula has very imaginative designs - she’s not afraid to move and add structures. The big elements don’t limit her vision.
Laura is the most practical - she’s not going to give you a theater room for a bedroom or a bedroom for an office.
Alvin’s designs are my favorites. He dresses spaces in bold, interesting textures, which envelopes you and take you away from the ordinary without breaking the bank.
Lula's ideas were so cool. She's so creative! I feel like not many people would be able to imagine something so interesting and magical just by looking at a plain room like that.
Three great designs. Lula’s seems a bit gimmicky and not really livable. People don’t just use a bed to sleep in - they sit on the edge for any number of reasons - especially in s space like hers where there is no other seating in the main area of the room - and I would not want to have to sit on the edge of a hanging bed. Also, how is she planning to do the recessed floor in what is obviously an upper floor? Also, there’s just a ton of empty space and no place to put anything. Conversely, Laura’s space has good functionality but, let’s face it - that desktop is going to be cluttered if it is actually being used and that visual clutter will detract from the serenity of the room. I do like how she made use of the small window though and I love the French doors. Of the three, I prefer Alvin’s, but I’d love to see his design incorporating a French door or similar feature. (And the hammock is a bit silly. )
Alvin Wayne’s design is 🔥🔥🔥
Loved all the colors, shapes, and the contrast of soft vs hard materials. In love with his bedroom idea
if Lula add working cabinets on her design to make it practical, it will be 10/10
I got so excited when I was that Lula was going to be in this video! I love her room especially the windows. I did want to see some storage to complete the look, I don't know how I wouldve incorporated that to fit with the theme while not overcrowding the space, but I know that Lula would've thought of something. I also love Alvin's room as well, especially the window room. I love how he added the hammock and just how relaxing and warm the space was. I'm not a huge fan of the wallpaper & rug. Even as interior designers, I think Lula & Alvin are people that I would enjoy working with.
All three designs are well done. Lula knocked it into another dimension - a dreamy bedroom - I love the circle window, the ceiling feels so ethereal. I want to live in that room, hang out in that bed, sit around the fireplace in the winter and enjoy the summer breeze sitting in that arch window. Awesome! Alvin's design rocked it for elegance and easy living. A relaxed style with a designer's eye for giving warmth and presence to neutrals. A wonderful bedroom! However, Laura's design felt too functional and a bit like a hotel room to me personally. Separating with extra doors does not feel mysterious to me but rather makes me feel closed off or closed in, takes away too much light, and diminishes the use and enjoyment of the focal point of the room. Great series, love it!
I really like Laura and Alvin's design, because I love that warm feeling throughout the room and that they kept the big windows. I thought Lula's was cool too, it looks very artsy. But she lost me with the bed because it would be very unpractical for everyday use. I wouldn't want to struggle to get into my bed. The fireplace looked awesome and cozy though.
Laura's design has a desk and storage space so I can actually leave my stuff somewhere, so that's definitely a winner for me.
Definitely Laura first, Alvin second and then Lula.
Lula's design is ideal for a hotel but it's a bit unrealistic when it comes to materials and function. Marble on walls and ceiling seems a bit much, thick fur everywhere on the floor while comfy would be a pain to clean. Plus there's a fireplace close by? That's an accident waiting to happen. And then she changed the brief by doing a sunken floor. But love the idea for the circular arch, beautiful circular window, the floating bed (more cables though, and a bracket to limit swaying), the constellations on the ceiling. Love the idea of the sky/heaven, definitely came out .
Alvin's design is more practical and balanced. The TV is a great idea as after a long day of work you'd want to rest in bed but still watch something entertaining. The hammock is an amazing idea as well. Great furniture choices and lovely color scheme.
Laura's design is just 'chef's kiss'. Love everything from furniture to color choice to material palette to textures. The 2 things I would disagree with would be the ceiling chandelier (should be higher than that, looks awkward and drops past the door top) and the chair looks a bit uncomfy. Otherwise 10/10. If I had the money would definitely build my house to Laura's design.
