"Proud" was the buzzword as friends and families were welcomed back to Britannia Royal Naval College Dartmouth to watch the latest group of Royal Naval Officer Cadets pass out.
Passing out parades have been live-streamed through the pandemic, but family and friends were back in person at the college for the first time since last August.

My two sisters joined WRAF and my parents and I went to they’re passing out parade in 1956… It was such a proud moment for us all
Well done then! The families must be proud. It's awesome to see how militaries around the world have overcome Covid and managed to pass out great members of the armed forces.
Brings back so may memories, my passing out was at Raleigh, stay safe and do your country proud.
Well done sailors. Onward and upward. All the best with your Naval careers.
It is officers to
@@mikerobinson3899 they are all sailors
that drill was shocking
Ratings are always better at drill than officers. I know first hand ahaha
Ok so I'm not the only one.
The people not in step at the start (closer to the camera) are RFA - so civilians, not in the military.
Royal Navy such a long and proud history
Congratulations!! 🇬🇧 From your cousins across the pond 🇺🇸, Cheers mates🍻.
Well done to one & all 👏👏 🎉
Best of luck in your RN careers 🚢
Congratulations all
Congratulations !!!
I wish you all good luck
Only time that lot was in pace was when they went up the steps.
Obviously square-bashing was my generation . Music also 😡😡🇬🇧

I'm immensely proud to be another Dartmouth parent (2012).
Take the names of the ones out of step, that would have been unacceptable in my day
I too want to be a naval officer
I interpreted that title very differently. Well done anyway. Carry on the good work.
Well done officer cadets of Dartmouth naval college rule britannia
Hope their seamanship is better than their drill...
I noticed quite a few were out of step. Lol.
Full respect to all these young officers, but not being able to stay in step reflects badly.
The RN don't rely on Marching! 🤣 It's hoped they get their sealegs soon! 🤮
Marching has never been a strong point of the RN. Not much use on a ship.
@@archiebald4717 You’re missing the point, when I served in the Army, there wasn’t much call for marching into combat but our drill and turnout at our pass out was immaculate. My Dad went through Dartmouth back when standards were second to none, I dread to think what he would make of that circus.

Jesus. The drill.
Will you report on the royal marine officer
No
Respect the royal navy
Well done the lot of you, all look amazing, do you get to keep the sword lol?
It's for Ceremonial use with the Number 1 Uniform and still belongs to the Navy in the same way that their Rifles do, when the British banned Guns in 1995/96 after the Hungerford Mass Shooting at an Elementary School the Government had an Amnesty and offered to take all Weapons in Private Ownership at Police Stations across Britain with No Questions Asked, they got Flintlock and Matchlock Pistols and Rifles, WW1, WW2 Era Pistols and Rifles, Swords dating back to 1500 all the way through Nelson's Era to Army and Navy Officers Ceremonial Swords given or collected by people after WW2 from the German, Italian Army's and Navy's, then the Japanese Army and Navy mostly Surrendered and gave up their Samurai Swords of and they disappeared until they were handed in to the Police Stations, along with Knives, Machetes and other long Blades, there's nothing like a Navy Sword in private ownership in Britain unless it's been kept secret because of Nut Jobs stealing them and hacking people up with them
Haha officers that cant march
Shocking wasn't it.
I was thinking they must not have had the Drill and Ceremonies Training yet.
Please keep in step sir
Its a true fact most will have very short service the RN is so small now
Check out the officer 1.40 Commando and Para qualified. BZ sir.
I'm mildly disappointed, as in the US Army, we did a different kind of passing out in formation. My expectations were not realized.
I thought they were gonna parade until they pass out
Why do some have sub Lieutenant insignia and some have midshipman insignia
I don’t know about now but it used to be that if you’d already been to university and had your degree you were commissioned directly to Sub Lieutenant as you were already 2-3 years older than your direct from school colleagues. This kept everyone on an even play field. Some professionally qualified personnel such as Doctors, Clergy, Nurses, Solicitors, Teachers and those going to the Fleet Air Arm also directly commissioned to Sub Lt.
It could have well changed now and I’m happy to be corrected.
The college could do with a clean up. Look at the state of the stone.
Didnt know the was the armeican navy throwing there head dress in the air 😂😂
It's a shame it rained on their parade
✋
"Proud"
Well done all, just reward for the long training and hard work.
Regards appearance, I think the female cadets would look smarter in uniform skirts. Just my opinion.
Happens when you lock your knees.
RAF QCS - watch and learn…
Royal Navy is the best navy of the world. They must be proud of UK. haha
Why don't all of them passing out have swords but some do?
Out of interest. Why is the word Proud in inverted commas, like their families arent proud?
Now thy realise their mistake - not joining the RAF
@Thenateo you can do that in the navy as well
@Thenateo true
Oh, do tell about how you almost died on your 5 miler of death
@Thenateo Equality for both!!
@@JC-kz3ut what?
No stiff collars.😥
**Proud** parade you say?
Nice drill......lol
they can't even march similar naval leaders ? 🤨🤭
Lol not in step
Dreadful marching in one of those sections. Very class orientated still... and why mainly white and no non-whites being interviewe. Ah well, after all these years as a veteran, there is some sort of progress.
Maybe because there’s not a lot of ethnic minorities on the course, they’re always underrepresented especially without foreign students
Woke lefies good luck 🇬🇧
too bad the british armed forces are third rate.
