I can already tell Harvey is shining in this series. He actually took this seriously from day one, interacted with other Korean recruits and cheered them on.
Harvey seems like a very mature and respectful young man. He has always been quiet and underrated in the group, so it's nice to see his interpersonal skills here.
He's an observer and follows the situation. Observers often end up in the mum/dad role in a group when things go bad. They are the ones who usually stays back and goes with the flow, but takes charge when needed.
In these circumstances it is obvious that Harvey is very strong mentally, he wills himself to get used to things outside of his comfort zone. You could also tell he's more of a roll up his sleeves and get things done kinda person. Very mature and very grounded.
I love that Harvey, Jayden, and Nati shine in this series. In the earlier light-hearted series, they are typically quieter and calmer so they're usually in the back but their maturity really comes through in this one. Jayden with his athleticism, jumping off a 5m, and swimming in deep water with no hesitation even though he doesn't know how to swim shows his self discipline. The respectful way that Harvey and Nati are speaking Korean, following directions, and socializing with the Korean soldiers is exemplary. They're all taking this boot camp seriously. These are outstanding young men!
It's quite a different experience when you're forced to swim as a person who doesn't know how to. Something just clicks in your brain, helping you to survive. Something similar happened to me, where I will be left behind if I didnt swim across the river. The need to survive and not get left behind eats up the fear somehow.
fr! as someone who doesnt know how to swim, i admire his courage. i once tried to learn swimming with my friend (my friend's a swimming trainer) yet i got panicked everytime im underwater for more than 3 seconds. it's not that im out of breath. it just feels like my brain is sending danger signals even when my body is doing fine
I once had a friend who fell in a pool, sank to the bottom of the deep end, and thought, "I should try to get to the surface. . . But that's so much work. I think I'll just drown." Which turned out to be the right move. His body's natural buoyancy brought him back up and someone grabbed him and pulled him out. They asked why he didn't try to swim out, and he said, "I don't know. Maybe I'm just lazy."
He's in the safest place he could be for someone who can't swim. There are experienced combat divers in that pool, so he couldn't drown even if he wanted to.
He always stood out to me as someone who embodies the epitome of "kid who was raised right". Even in their previous korean trip he was always very polite and considerate.
Armand is Smart And Charismatic as well. Those are the types that attract opportunities to become Leaders while they are hopefully ably supported by guys who are upright as well but just doesn't like the heat of the limelight.
shout out to Nati for treating the navy and the actual recruits with respect with his serious attitude. also impressed with how quickly he seemed to pick up on the instructions. and marching was on point 🫡✨
Knowing that Nati is not the biggest fan of physical activities, he’s surprisingly good at marching. He has a really good posture & rhythm when marching and it seems he’s not even trying hard 😂 I guess it just comes naturally for him
Yeah the other boys are low-key pissing me off of how they treat this like a joke. I know it's cultural differences but laughing at random times seems highly disrespectful
@@dakilangraikage9988 @hyunhun5156 people coming at armand for giggling, but he's obviously extremely stressed here. he's not being disrespectful, it's literally the situation. if he didn't understand how serious this was, he wouldn't be as stressed as he was throughout the video!
Jayden, Nati, and Harvey are taking this experience so seriously. I love how they were also talking with the Korean recruits (and shout out to the young bilingual men who are in the squad!), making conversation. These three are really showing their resilience and maturity in this series!
Can we give Jayden a big round of applause? He doesn't know how to swim but still proceeds to do all the exercises. I also love how Nati, Harvey, and Jayden seemed like they were taking the whole experience seriously. I think the others were laughing, maybe because they were nervous. They all did amazing!
Agreed, The laughing may have been disrespectful but it is understandable. Gotta reel that shit in. Especially when the navy has allowed such a disruption to their normal recruits.
I can’t imagine doing military service in a country you don’t speak the language of and being filmed almost every hour. The amount of stress must be staggering. I’m worried for them but at the same time, cheering them on. This is a reminder: the guys might be filmed during their hardest moments and we should give them grace for whatever they might do/say.
@@LunarisArts It already is, friend of the channel Sam Hammington was on the South Korean reality TV show “Real Man” that puts celebrities in boot camp
Yeah, i tough at least they learn from korean reality show like Real Man, even its more entertaining side its still gave you pictures how its might gonna be. Its really pity that they aren't prepared before had, aside from physical check up they do
I love Harvey, Jayden, and Nati getting their spotlight now! They're usually the quieter trio, so seeing them take this seriously and actually do well too makes me feel like a proud mom!

It's okay. That's why they're there. They intend to feel the full experience and not to be treated specially, they already did with the headmaster and being only there for 4 days
Harvey and Nati were the only guys who shouted the slogans perfectly in Korean, except for Josh, and they are the only taking this seriously. I appreciate them loads.
Harvey’s personality really shined here. Even under high stress, he is able to adapt and act accordingly, but when it’s time to have fun and loosen up, he is a funny guy and seems to easily get along with people. He struck conversations with the Korean recruits around him really naturally. I for one could never handle everything and adapt as well as him if I was placed under similar circumstances.
I hope there’s no hate comments towards the boys as this part of the series progresses. Let’s all remember that it’s easy for us, as viewers, to sit and watch and have opinions about how the boys handle the situation they are actually physically in. Of course, there are moments that are inappropriate and immature, but this is so far out of their comfort zones and people all have different ways of coping. I’m sure watching this back will be a lessons learned for the boys when watching how they interacted and behaved once they’re mentally and physically calm back home, but while they’re training, they are probably not fully aware of what they’re doing.
Agree, if i can be blunt here... They are literally little chicks being thrown in to the most hellish place in korea (arguably) with zero to little no clue about what was gonna happen. Its evil in some perspective but maybe different from another.
I’m curious to see how Armand will handle this experience. From what I remember he was head boy at their academy, and was held in a pretty high regard in terms of representing the school. They would often joke about him being the responsible one, but he is so completely out of his element here. Being someone that everyone has such high expectations of and not meeting them can really mess with someone’s mind. I wonder if that’s part of why he seems so nervous and uncomfortable. They all are, but he seems agitated in a way we haven’t seen before.
I'm like this. I'm a perfectionist and I truly have a hard time trying new things because I don't wanna fail at it, or never succeed (which I know is unrealistic). Most of the time I don't even try. I'm great academically and intellectually, but this kinda stuff would break me. I've had a stranger tell me I'm book smart but not street smart. lol
Harvey giving his new found friend a boost of encouragement is such a good display of emotional intelligence. I applaud his sensitivity of his surroundings.
I thought too. if they were korean... they would have experienced hell. The DI is unusually lenient here. If one person laughs in the military, hundreds suffer please don't laugh.
MAJOR appreciation for Natti (of course all the boys are trying their best) but Natti's here trying to speak as much korean as possible, and genuinely comes across like he's here for the full 20 months, and not just 4 days! Brava!!
@@Kkim0830 So true! Natti really shows his efforts in appreciating and willing to learn the language N Harvey n Jayden are also taking this seriously 😣 They've really shined in this series thus far
As an army vet, the “slept on” hard part is staying focused to instruction for that long. Especially when you can’t understand what they’re saying, I would be dead tired lol. Mad respect Gentlemen!
Yes, I love how naturally he connects with others and he is also very considerate with his language. He doesn't make his sentences too simplified but as a non native I feel like he takes into account that he speaks to someone who speaks English as a second language and he speaks clearly and doesn't use too difficult vocabulary. This is very sweet and considerate of him!
Well yeah, as a Korean, if you didn't help these British recruits in Navy, that kid would've gotten into trouble instead and probably would've been taken responsible if the Drill Instructor yelled at them lol. Without Camera, it would be way more worse.
Yeah the others are gonna get screwed over, I could tell they're gonna have a harder time considering their antics. Like damn boys calm it, someone can get seriously injured or punished there. Or worse.
You got that right. Harvey was the only person who shouted the slogans perfectly in Korean, except for Josh, and he is the only one taking this seriously. I appreciate him loads. If one person laughs in the military, hundreds suffer... please don't laugh. if they were korean... they would have experienced real hell. The DI is unusually lenient here.
i feel like Nati too. i'm most worried about Max, cz his class clown antics might put him in hot water if he doesn't cool it. this is why i was really nervous when they were told but said they were excited. i mean i'm not Korean or a soldier, but i took it that they'd be going to an actual boot camp. training for soldiers. i dont think they actually fully understood that 😅
Nati seems pretty serious… but i was dying inside because of Armand and Bobby. (Well i can’t know what to do all the time, mostly when they are depending of the translation)
Holy crap. The fact that Armand is telling his best friend to STFU is showing that Armand is stressed. This series is already going to be unlike what we've seen already.
Nah... he's always been that way. He always tell Max to shut up or Max is in the wrong. Kind of an a-hole really. And yeah, I knew that they are bffs since they were kids but still.
I don't want to assume anything but it's quite common for a popular and smart person, which I think Armand is, to behave like that: demanding, condescending, sensitive. I am probably reading too much into it based on short clips but I know some people who are like this.
@@anthonymc8361yeah, I think you are reading too much into it. We can’t assume or gauge someone based on a small clip. We also shouldn’t automatically assume someone is bad because they’re stressed or how they react under pressure.
Jayden not knowing how to swim must have added so much more fear and intensity to this experience. I commend him so so much for going through with it all.
Is the same with Singapore naval diving unit. If you are posted to a naval position, everyone is expected to know how to swim at the end of basic military training. There is no lift jacket for us for basic platform dive at the swimming pool. Platform dive is to simulate jumping off a ship.
@@arsenal_84 excuse my dumb question, so for people who dont know how to swim, after all these training will they somehow came out able to swim? is there cases that they just still not able to swim?
@@fascienneskytten5497 yes, the instructors will kind of know the trainee's progress (non swimmers) and everyone in the platoon gets punish just because of guys who couldn't swim based on one for all and all for one motto.
@@ingothitrust5248 I’m glad the 3 of them are shining here. Armand, max and even bobby with his mom all have separate contents in this channel. We need more harvey, jayden and nati focus.
It's a bit unfair to assume the rest are not taking the training seriously. It's like saying they are acting that way out of malice and being purposely disrespectful, it was just day 1, all the laughing and giggling is probably just them coping with the pressure. It was hard to watch, yes, but I'm sure they will act differently in the rest of the series.
Hi guys, First of all, I want to say I'm really proud of you all. I served in ROK Navy from 2019 to 2021, joining as the 657th. This video makes me reflecting my old days from boot camp cuz I had same training at the same camp. I give you guys my regards and you all did great, thanks.
Nati and Harvey seems to be adjusting really well! From interacting with the Korean recruits, doing the chants in a loud voice before jumping, and answering the DI.
It's one of the most intense episodes I’ve seen from the British Students series. Joining any military boot camp is not easy. It takes a lot of physical and mental effort to do it. It’s one of the best episodes
Truth is base on what i watched, Navy went real gentle with these kids as this is just a short term boots camp for UA-cam : Ex. If any trainees laugh in real navy boots camp, whole group get multiple rounds of punishment until ABSOLUTELY NO ONE LAUGH then they go into their training of the day. But these kids got only scary stare and gentle warning. I see all Koreans are screaming in comment section for these kids' well-being and possibly ptsd 😅
I love watching them, but I admit seeing them like this broke my heart. Yes, I know not everything is sunshine and rainbows, so good on capturing the reality of that.
Definitely. I remember their first Korean trip when Harvey would take the initiative to thank those around him and go talk to the restaurant owners. I'm not surprised to see him thriving here.
Harvey and Nati are so mature. I suddenly become a bit emotional because I remember seeing them being a high schoolers from the start of the series 🥹❤️
the way this whole thing made armand display every kind of emotion we've never seen before shows that this is VERY real. he got annoyed, nervous, pissed, clueless, agitated. i bet this is the farthest he has ever been from his comfort zone and his behaviour is completely understandable.
Honestly I think the mindset the boys have currently is quite disrespectful to any of the Korean men that are conscripted. I hope their attitudes improve in the next episode we see
its the same with all countries that people have to do mandatory military service in imo. the kids don't know what to expect going in and have to adapt to whatever situation asap. experienced that myself the hard way lol
After seeing Armand and Max shine in the other series, it’s so interesting to see Nati, Jayden and Harvey shine here with such differing personalities to Armand and Max. All the boys have their strong points and I imagine this is a lot on Armand and Max who are naturally bubbly people at all times. I guess what I’m saying is that I’m loving seeing the other boys and their determination here. Their willingness to embrace and take seriously every aspect of training regardless of how hard it is, is really admiring! I really hope the other boys will get a chance to go back to Korea for a fun trip after how serious this seems to be!
Right from the get-go, Armand and Max were my least favourite of all the boys, and I actually preferred Nati, Jayden and Harvey because I like quiet people who don’t feel like they have to be the centre of attention all the time. I think it’s easy to show a positive, charming side when you are having a good time, but you are more likely to see the real person in a tough situation. I hope the giggling and messing around stops too because I think it’s disrespectful to their Korean hosts.
thank you for pointing this out, people are certainly different and may shine differently. i think it's cool that we can see the process and the boys' growth in general
Harvey, Nati, and Jayden are absolutely crushing it! The respect these three have for the korean culture is shining so bright. Hope the other boys pull through in this aspect, realizing its not just "reality tv" but a way of life that they are getting to experience.
The way Nati always seem genuinely interested in Korean culture and language every episode, i hope he gets more screentime. I'm also very surprised seeing Harvey's seriousness and interaction with the recruits this episode. Love seeing him shine and mad props to Jayden for doing that jump 👍 Never seen Armand this stressed it's hilarious 😂
Honestly I think Harvey's gonna be the surprise shiner in this series. I think he kinda got muted as part of a duo during the original Fulham boys run, but got a lot more interested when he and Nati were alone for that one meal for doing the best on the test.

Harvey is so charming in this series. We can really see how much of a team player he is in how he wants to encourage the Korean recruits as well acknowledging that they will have to be there for nearly 2 years. As much as I love Max throughout the series of BH but HARVEY showed sincerity of learning this military training. He adapted so well and he gets along well with Koreans too. He's getting information to prepare himself even more.
This is cool af hands down my favorite little series on this channel so far like THIS is really cool not just for the entertainment value but it's awesome knowing this is an experience they'll definitely remember forever and even though it's only 4 days they'll still learn a lot of lessons from this and that's the most amazing part of this little series to me And the fact that the jolly staff left them alone to be independent was genuinely in my opinion an incredible idea so shout out to whoever came up with that which I think Josh said Luke came up with the idea so shout out to Luke
I honestly think that KoreanEnglishman team should have prepared the boys and Mr Smith about basic Korean words like Korean numbers, greetings for the higher ups, the chants etc. It's already tough for them to not understand anything.
I think they were prepared. They had interpreters as well. Plus, Josh and MR. SMITH joining them. Mr. Smith looks like he really prepared! They were in good hands.

bro i’m so proud of jayden. not knowing how to swim and still doing a 5 metre dive is courageous. the fear of drowning paralyzes people.
Not knowing how to swim does not mean he has hydrophobia. The "fear of drowning" does not paralyze people - it is the very reason that they swim.
I think I'll just drown."
Which turned out to be the right move.
It feels like this brings out a new side of Harvey. He seems super focused, considerate, and respectful. Props to him!
For real I kinda expect Armand to be the one who's like that. But apparently it's Harvey, so cool! Nati is great too!
He always stood out to me as someone who embodies the epitome of "kid who was raised right". Even in their previous korean trip he was always very polite and considerate.
Harvey and Nati are the smart and respectful one
Armand is Smart And Charismatic as well.
Those are the types that attract opportunities to become Leaders while they are hopefully ably supported by guys who are upright as well but just doesn't like the heat of the limelight.
On the previous trip he did the best in most of the challenges. He always stood out as respectful, but also having a quiet competitive edge.

I SECOND THIS.
He excel academically but not on the sport & practical skills
Hes the weakest link in this kind of situation
Yeah I agree, he seemed really under pressure. Ngl I was quiet surprised how he acted. That was very unnatural.
I'm like this. I'm a perfectionist and I truly have a hard time trying new things because I don't wanna fail at it, or never succeed (which I know is unrealistic). Most of the time I don't even try. This is very sweet and considerate of him!
That one Korean kid in their team is the MVP man, helped all of them get situated, even carried in the excercises

Shout out to Nati for knowing left and right in Korean and just shining in this series.
the way this whole thing made armand display every kind of emotion we've never seen before shows that this is VERY real. he got annoyed, nervous, pissed, clueless, agitated. i bet this is the farthest he has ever been from his comfort zone and his behaviour is completely understandable.
To think that’s the mindset of 99% these young men who are forced to do this for upto 20months
hes a bit of a softy
In a serious position requires a serious mindset.

I absolutely adore Harvey, he is so kind and friendly towards the other recruits. Stand up guy 🥹 love to see him have genuine conversations with them at lunch! 16:36
The respect I have for Mr smith joining these boys. I feel as if we’ve all had a teacher or someone that means a lot to them.

I love how a lot of people are acknowledging some of the boys that have been overshadowed before, like Nati, Harvey, and Jayden. They definitely deserve it.
I feel like this series will shed the light on parts we’ve never seen of everyone.
Guys this is the best series u guys did so far! To experience what korean military/navy culture is the one that might be the best memories for yall and I have so much respect for that. Not everyone would like to try this agony experience. ❤ mad respect!
Harvey is so charming in this series. We can really see how much of a team player he is in how he wants to encourage the Korean recruits as well acknowledging that they will have to be there for nearly 2 years.
Nati also for continuing to show passion for learning Korean and fully immersing himself in his surroundings.
And Jayden for being willing to literally dive in and try his best.
This will be tough on the boys and I’m curious to see how much the boys will change in such a short time.

I love that they’re getting longer❤ Thank you so much
Thank you everyone...i find this truely fascinating, so so interesting and multi faceted. Thank you to all behind the scenes, families too... BBC could learn a lot! (But then when couldn't they!)
Props to Harvey, Natti and Jayden for taking this seriously and also stepping up to the plate.
I can't swim either and am not at all physically strong. I would have been terrified.
But at least Jayden is physically strong, and Natti has had a little bit of training, so he is mentally strong.

Legend 🎉
As much as I love Max throughout the series of BH but HARVEY showed sincerity of learning this military training. He adapted so well and he gets along well with Koreans too. He's getting information to prepare himself even more.
Harvey, Nati and Jayden
Yeeeesss
This is cool af hands down my favorite little series on this channel so far like THIS is really cool not just for the entertainment value but it's awesome knowing this is an experience they'll definitely remember forever and even though it's only 4 days they'll still learn a lot of lessons from this and that's the most amazing part of this little series to me
And the fact that the jolly staff left them alone to be independent was genuinely in my opinion an incredible idea so shout out to whoever came up with that which I think Josh said Luke came up with the idea so shout out to Luke
I honestly think that KoreanEnglishman team should have prepared the boys and Mr Smith about basic Korean words like Korean numbers, greetings for the higher ups, the chants etc. It's already tough for them to not understand anything.
fr
This I also agree with would give them a sense of ease even though just minute
maybe they did behind the camera
I think they were prepared. They had interpreters as well. Plus, Josh and MR. SMITH joining them. Mr. Smith looks like he really prepared! They were in good hands.
they did, they have translators...though i agree with that too

Mate…this is a proper rollercoaster of emotions. Max stressing, Armand losing it, bobby getting emotional…think this the first time anyone cussed not just in the series…but the whole channel. This episode made me stressed.
I noticed that too. I figured since they're not at Fulham anymore they don't have to mind their language, but they must be stressed too.
That's the hard part of being in the military. Having bunch of people who you dont know giving different reactions of emotions in a single room.
The training you get used to, but people you meet is just luck.
@@foxrain4791 Korean Military itself is already stressful, then they have to deal with culture and language barrier in a foreign land. It's gotta be extra extra stressful...Not to mention Josh and Ollie left them on their own.
Harvey, Natti ans Jayden Impressed me in this series, their maturity shine the most. I admire these 3 for keeping up with the instructions so well and their level of camaraderie is insane
Harvey definitely stood out the most in this episode, we've seen him kinda on the quite side before but here he's the most serious one and he even kept making an interaction with the koreans!
Harvey truly is a remarkable gentleman. He is well raised and always shown such humility.
Such an amazing exposure to the defense community and the Korean community
I love how Harvey is making friends with fellow trainees. But all of the boys are really trying hard for their first day and I can feel the pressure and tension even from watching them.

The DI was being extremely patient and lenient with them in the beginning, but I’m sure towards the end, they must’ve cut out a lot of footage because by the end of the video you can see Armand’s face and he looks absolutely terrified and stressed. I’m gonna assume the DI got fed up and finally yelled at Armand for acting foolish all day. Even the Korean soldiers who were helping translate seemed very stressed too because they would also be reprimanded for not getting the translation across. Very tough situation.
They mentioned that Armand got yelled at so hard, but didn't show it. Which was probably for the best. Explains why he was so stressed out at the end.
@@alberthwang2900 They should've showed it imo, anyone from the UK that has done public services knows if you don't take military exercises seriously, you're going to get bolocked
@@georgeoverton_ maybe its membership content? just a guess tho, not subscribed to the membership sadly
@@ImmaBeAGurlnah i don’t think they’d post that for armand. no one would want a video of themselves being yelled at personally by a general posted online.
@@ImmaBeAGurl there’s a sudden changes video content for the membership because of the military law. They have to release all the videos in the military boot camp for the public. So we didn’t get that much footage from the actual time while they’re training. The videos that have been uploaded so far are when their hair was cut, the first gym training, the last meal before boot camp and 1 minute personal video from each members. That’s it from now.
I hope they will show more footage for BTS videos later.
One of THE BEST videos you guys have ever made!
everyone was out of their comfort zones but man i love how harvey handled this. he didn't play around since the first time they got there. also the way he interacted with other recruits, even cheered them was heartwarming
Here for Harvey and Nati, ive always loved how they approached korean culture. Jayden was really brave here especially not knowing how to swim
Its scary being in a completely new and unknown situation like this, kudos to all the boys for going through this experience for us to see. (Hope armand feels a bit more better later, he seemed nervous, stressed and anxious, Who wouldnt be in that situation)
props to everyone especially to Jayden, Natti, and Harvey. I know the giggling is a huge topic of discussion now but I think the boys just express stress differently. please understand them
I figured it would be a big shock once they realize how serious it is. Looking forward to them learning from this.
jayden is gonna have some crazy lore imagine telling people “yeah i learned to swim in korean navy bootcamp”
Harvey impressed me in this video , it’s a tough situation, fighting for all the military recruits who are giving up their youth for their military
The way Bobby was being too polite for his own good 😭
He kept saying thank you or yes when he understood when he was supposed to be quiet.
I sincerely hope the boys understand the phrase 'sweat more during peace, bleed less during war'. We all now living in intense moments
what a phrase!
