    Wayne Martin offered a solution for my 2007 Club Car bucket harness issue that did not require the purchase and installation of a new bucket harness. I appreciate the timely manner my email was answered and how quickly it fixed my issue without addional cost of parts. Thank you Wayne - I will be recommending your site to my friends.

    Since you asked for ideas, I would love to see some videos on changing out bushings for a 2008.5 + Club Car Precedent for the front and rear to make everything feel more 'solid' while driving. Also, what to do if your steering starts to get some play in it. Thanks!

      We rebuild lots of precedent front ends, and it steers like dream afterwards.
      Jack up the front end and wiggle the a arms and the spindles to see if there is any slop in there.

    Thank you for this video sir! Every thing works except after 30-45 seconds the brake lights fail until you reset the ignition with the key. Any thoughts on my issue with this bucket harness brake light issue would be greatly appreciated 😊

      Text or email me, and i will help you.
      It will be too much to go thru on this forum. Also, are you talking about brake lites or tail lites? Because the brake lites have a timer on them, and will time out, or go off after the short time.

      @@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Wayne, I'm very good at mechanics but horrible with electrical. I have a 2016 club car electric. Once I run the bucket harness and unplug the factory harness at the dash do I not use the factory harness at all? I am just confused at the connections.

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 роки тому

      No, you hook everything together. Your bucket harness will plug into your original wires.

    Hi Wayne, I have a PH08. You mention a 2008 1/2 and newer do not have the bucket harness. Can I tell by the serial number when it was built in 2008?

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 роки тому

      yes you can.
      The first 2 digits after the PH is the
      year, and then the next 2 digits are the week it was built.
      For example :
      PH0811. would be 11th week ( November) of 2008

    • @johneore
      @johneore 4 роки тому

      So it goes ph0832-xxxxxx.

      Relook at my post, i made a mistake, and have corrected it.
      Its week not month.
      So yours was the 32nd week of 08.
      So yours is BEFORE the 1/2

    Can you show the wiring of the light switch?

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  7 місяців тому

      I'm not following you, the light kit comes with the 2 wires for the switch, already identified. Or are you asking something else?

    • @stephenross8213
      @stephenross8213 7 місяців тому

      The light switch I have is the one with the little blue light in the toggle switch and there are 3 male type connectors on the wiring side. there are (it appears) 3 wires a brown, a yellow and a black. I have tried connecting these up and have had no luck getting the head lights/taillights to come on. I am in the process of converting to a lithium battery with a 12v converter. I am getting 12v output from the converter. I will attaach a picture of the on /off switch. The cart is a 2011 C.C. Precedent. Everything works fine accept the H. lights/T. lights, those are the only accessories on the cart. Thank you, Steve@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900

    Wayne, what I'm trying to reference is at 7:31 on this video. My 2004 Club Car Precedent professional does not have that grey wire. What would you do? :)

  • @mechanol
    @mechanol 4 роки тому

    Hey Wayne... Stupid question...if this is wired directly to the 48v pack... how does it not fry the lights if they are 12v? Is there a solid-state reducer build into the light kit?

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 роки тому

      I am not following you, but you don't want to wire anything directly to the 48 V unless it's a reducer.
      What are you asking me when you say " is this why are directly"?

      @@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 I figured it out... long story short I converted to a leaf pack. When wiring it together I put the bucket harness positive lead to the pack and when flipping the tow switch it melted the breaker and turn signal box under the floor mat. I was completely at a loss until I saw this video. I had no idea what a bucket harness was...I thought that the bucket harness' red cable leads to a factory reducer which I know now doesn't exist. What I didn't realize until I looked at a picture of the lead-acid setup was that the bucket harness positive was attached to the battery adjacent to the primary negative resulting in a total of 16v.. not the 60v I rammed through it by mistake because I wasn't fully informed about how the cart was wired when setting up my leaf pack.

    Hi Wayne, my 2001 48 volt club car has new batteries, the charger charges the battery but doesn’t shut down, my question is it possible this could be due to the charger and not the OBC, thanks Mike

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 роки тому

      1st of all you need to make sure you let the charger fully charge the new batteries. A could take up to 16 hours possibly to charge the new batteries the 1st time.
      So plug it in and leave it alone for at least 16 hours and see if it works its way down and finally shuts off.
      The OBC needs to acclimate itself with a new batteries and that's why it takes so long after you unhook the OBC to reacclemate with batteries.
      If you do have a problem I would say it's more likely to be the OBC than the charger.

      I am sorry I should have told you the batteries were 3 weeks old when we bought the cart , when I put it on the charger the day we brought it home the charger read 15 amps then in about 3 hrs it was down to about 3 amps I went to bed when I got up it had been about 9 hrs total and they were bubbling away and I could smell them, do you think it would have been safe to keep charging, I unplugged it because I had to go back home, what do you think, really appreciatethe help, and if I wanted to bring a OBC back with me don’t I have to know the number on the one in the cart, thanks Mike

    • @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900
      @waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900  4 роки тому

      i would plug it in and leave it alone.
      If after 16 hours its not off, then unplug it.
      As long as the batteries are good and there is water in them, egg smell will stop after a few charges.
