Hi guys happy Sunday! Hope you enjoy this tasty dessert! Please make sure you hit that LIKE button and share with a buddy who would make this for you! Also keep an eye out for Max who pops up in the vid! 🍌🍌🍌🍌
Nice Cameo, Max! You're a rising star.
Donal, I find beating/slightly whipping the caramel makes it easier to spread and smoother consistency.
Looks delicious 😋
Look absolutly delicious!
Saludos desde México. ☺
Funny enough im still a child so my fav dessert is actually bannoffe pie or strawberry trifle
For an extra depth in flavor add a small amount of coffee into the cream and it just makes it that tiny bit better
I would layer the biscuit base with dark chocolate first and then the dulce followed by the banana and then a little dulce whipped cream. That's my version!
Georgia Andrea yasssssss
And it's not a banoffee any more.
Your version is more like Banoffeelate
@@JohnnyBravoGn Sounds like my cup if tea. Oh la la .
Your version sounds way better, crunchie bar on top of dulce just sounds sickly sweet, sugar on sugar
Dear Donal,
Your banoffee pie looks wonderful. I have made this pie several times, and the one addition that I had learned to add was a coffee element. I learned that adding instant coffee to the cream gives a nice contrast of flavor that marries well with both the banana and toffee and also cuts through the sweetness a bit. I'm not sure if the coffee flavor was in the actual original recipe or not, but it does work well. Just my take on this delicious dessert.
Yes coffee is actually part of the original recipe, you made the original recipe without even knowing. Great job!
night ankh
Yes it’s the original recipe.
Banoffe pie stands for banana and coffee pie actually not banana and toffee like most ppl think
@@AmiAki That is what I learned as well.
@@AmiAki No ..it doesn’t .according to other British sources it’s Banana and toffee...you can add coffee but it’s NOT traditional.
I must disagree with you, that amount of cream is 100% necessary 👌🏻🤤
“You don’t want to waste any”. THANK YOU!!! I hate when chefs just leave half the bowl full. And how easy is this cake?! Lovely!!!!
I’ve first heard of banoffee pie from Kiera Knightly’s character in Love Actually and was never able to find it anywhere here in the States. I finally had it in London some years back and it was pretty amazing. I’m gonna have to give this recipe a try. 😋
my dad was actually knew the guys who invented the banoffee pie, it was in the early 70's at the Hungry Monk in Jevington, just outside Brighton/Eastbourne on the south coast of England
Jago Bridgland
Sure
Max in the background is added bonus
Donal are you ever going to do another collab with SortedFood!?!?!?!?!? 😛😉
Asking the real questions here!
YES PLEASE DONAL
Me: paying attention about the cream.
Max walked in 'Oh MAXIE!'
This looks INCREDIBLE! There are two British desserts that I've always wanted to try... Sticky Toffee Pudding, and THIS! I'm going to have to find some Digestives and give this a go! Thank you!
Crunchie on banoffee pie... that sounds delicious! Honeycombe should be used in more desserts! :)
Yes I completely agree!!!
I don't know why they didn't have you doing SATURDAY KITCHEN full time on BBC when Jimmy Martin packed it in. You're by far the most natural host when you do it.
P.s. did you know James Martin is from Yorkshire?
Not sure if he's ever mentioned it before.
Nom nom nom. I've only had banoffee pie once in my life, but I hope that my sister makes a version of this one day. She's always been the baker of the two of us.
Doce de leite ISN'T the same as caramel, oh for god sake 🤦🏻♀️ anyway ill do it cause obviously it's delicious 😋
Does anyone have any tips to make sure the base comes out this nicely and doesn't break?
I don't think digestive biscuits is available here in Philippines, can I used crash Graham instead?
Yes.
Banoffee pie is like one of my top 3 favourite desserts BUT somehow all I can think of now is that saucepan... I don't know why I find it so attractive. It looks like a mixing bowl with a handle. I want that.
I remember when this was on Kitchen Hero! I made one with my dad after seeing it :D
No way!!! Now that is a throwback!!
You just upgraded what is normally called a "Banoffee Pie" with your touch! Great video, as always!! Hope to see Noah running around with Max in the background !! :D
Pie Felicia!
Donal, would this crust work with a lemon cream pie?? I'm obsessed with anything lemon. Your pie looks amazing🙄
i do the same crust for key lime pie. works perfectly
😍😍😍😍💖can you pls do creme brûlée tart plsssssssdddd😍😍😍😍💖💖💖🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
None of your videos would be complete without a cameo from Maxie
I was thinking of making this for eid and was just going to look for your old banofee pie recipe that you probably did on another channel when I found this in my feed. This looks super fantastic! Thank you for the pie perfection. :)
Pavlova for sure and i loved seeing Max in the background eating his biccies ❤🐕
That looks an awful lot like your kitchen back in Ireland Donal.
I am going bananas over this! It's so apeeling!
Why have I not made this incredibly simple dessert before? WTF is wrong with me? If by the end of the week I have not made a banoffee pie, I will punch myself! Another great job, Donal!
hahaha YOU DO HAVE CRUNCHY BARS😂GREAT
I love Digestive biscuits and I love your videos!!!
Edit: I'm imagining the caramel as chocolate and the bananas as chocolate chips!! 😍
As soon as Max appeared I lost my attention to him..sorry Donal! I like your dog.
hi..how did you remove the parchment paper? wouldn't the sides break when turning it upside down?
THIS SOUNDS AMAZONG DONAL! I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE lol but looks amazing
Omg i want to eat it now
Oh I will have to make this for my 70th birthday! Growing up my favorite dessert was Mom's Chocolate Pudding Cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream . You know the one where you pour hot water over then bake. It's the best!
Awesome dessert🤩
Thank you for making it looks like easy to make dessert🤩🤩🤩
I’m excited to make it🤓
It baffles me how people can’t pronounce “dulce” and go right to “dolce”… and not even, but dolche! It’s irrelevant, but it annoys me >.>
You’re right....it is irrelevant..🙄
🍰 Swap cream for Custard & Crunchie bar for
Terry's Chocolate Orange..
Good. The ridiculous amount of cream, ridiculously toasty, 🤩, ridiculous amount of calories 😚😊❤
nice and simple, if you were just using condensed milk would you cook the condensed milk? In a Banbury, thanks so much
I subscribed..ur cute...from Riyadh KSA
Will try this dessert😘
Going to try with the base. I normally just do mine flat. Good to see that you’ve done something that was originally made here in good old Sussex 😊😊
I can't believe Donal has grey hair now :O.....times passes so swiftly! :(
I don’t like the side biscuits, it’s too much biscuit for me. I make my biscuit flat in a ring, add caramel, banana then cream in a piping bag then remove the sides and cream sides too, just sprinkle glitter on top that’s it.
I just made this pie tonight for New Years Eve and it is delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Yum yum yum !! Delish !!
Yayyyy !!! M so early !!!!...i just cant believe it 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
😅😅
Ugh I just cannot get the biscuit crumb case out in one piece. I am going to go it again but completely line the spring bottom cake tin and not just the bottom and also make the walls a little thicker and when I get it out of the fridge, I will leave it for ten minutes or so before attempting to free it. I need the luck 🍀 of Irish with this one ☝️
The Irish with this one ☝️
So Yummy😋 my mouth is watering 😋😋
Max in the background! What a cutie pie! And the banoffee looks delicious too 😋
and for some reason I keep smiling from ear to ear while watching this so, we're definitely gonna make this for iftar today. 😊
awsome!
crunchie bars are in LA?? that's nice!
Anyone else see the pupper at 5:03
Charlotte Morgan Awwwww 😍
Aisling M hahahaha hahahaha
My favourite part about shooting vids at home again is Max popping up!!!!
Looks yummy but for a diabetic. In a coma.do you make diabetic cakes
Can I use a graham cracker to make a crust, and cool whip for the topping.
It looks delicious 👍👍👍.May I to know about its recipe ?
So cute at the end - "No way, okay, fantastic! We have Crunchie bars!!" Definitely adds that little extra wow to the pie! :)
Didn’t know you could get them in LA!!
So yummy
Wat kind of cream you're using it heavy cream sir
If people don't like Banoffee then they are not my people ;)
¡ Este es mi postre favorito ! 😁
Did he just peel the bananas from the tip? 😅
Pero que clase de receta no incluye las medidas???
Does the crust hold if you don’t bake it?
A Excellent Video.. Highly Recommended.. Thank You Very Much For Sharing..
Max stealing the presentation at the end. 😍
Tempting dessert and healthy too
It's always a joy watching your videos 👌👍
Thank you!!
Hi
Does the cream melt away if not refridgerated? And how long does the cream hold up if refridgerated? I want to make it for my birthday the night before!!
Make it up to the stage before adding bananas refrigerate overnight..before serving add sliced bananas ( if you do it too early bananas go brown) and add your whipped cream.
What can u use if you don’t have a cake tin ?
Tradução em português... por favor Obrigada...desde já....pois assim posso me inscrever...Obrigada
I’ve made a similar recipe but I’ll add some powdered sugar to my cream and, on top, I just grate some dark chocolate, it’s amazing!!!
Why aren’t you adding the measurements anymore? :( Is it because you live in the States now? It’s so much more difficult to follow now having to switch between your page and the video. I’m utterly disappointed at this 😔
My favourite childhood dessert is Gulab Jamun😍Have you tried it before? or should I parcel some from here (India) n send it with my friend who stays at California💗Lots of love from India Donal! You are amazing!
Which cream you use please tell me
WONDERFUL, CONDENSED MILK
But you have made this before? I've seen it...?
McGovP I think he did it as a collar with Eric Lanlard? That one was more I cake style from memory
U r amazing Definitely going to buy your cook book if I can get it in this nightmare Covid 😭😭😭
There was a great sumo wrestling match in me...mind with vegan ideology versus the stomach craving seafood and dairy. The stomach won the match. Cats and my dog in Heaven and on Earth help me to eat. I would appreciate seeing more seafood dishes and dairy dishes. You are a great chef Donal. :)
So you came all the way to the USA to demo a recipe that Americans can't readily find ingredients for?
Kinda odd though, the reason I subscribed to your channel was back when you uploaded a variation of this recipe on Jamie Oliver's channel, so it's really odd that this was not on the channel.
😍lovely banoffe. tks
Just wanna eat it now.... Just enjoying listening to you describe it.... I m hungry now..
You’re crazy, Donal, with that amount of cream!!!!!
But I sure will do the same 😆
My favorite dessert is German Chocolate Cake. My Granma "Re made it for my birthday every year. I do not eat desserts anymore.
So good yummy😋😋 but I believe that after eating, it will increase my weight 😈😂
favorite childhood dessert, lemon meringue pie or german chocolate cake
This is the best banoffee pie
My mom used to make Cherry Delight (no bake cherry cheese cake)... loved that.
Max was looking for food behind you !!! 🐶🐶🐕🐕🐕😂
According to my calender there is a bleu moon every other week. Just saying.😉
really donal tell me more about the disgusting whipped cream :p lol
would like to know the brand of the stainless steel wok in the beginning .. THX
You need be more particular with yours recipes, because some people do not know common things! Such as -how make caramel milk, what temperature should be cream and so on!
It was quite obviously a tin of caramel...and the cream is from the refrigerator
@@Ionabrodie69 some recipes require what all ingredients has to be the same temperature!
favorite dessert would have to be a really good pud. sticky toffee or a syllabub.
whats the measurements??
Dulce de leche that Argentinian something? Awesome!!!
Donal, can I use biscoff biscuit spread instead of caramel or does it need caramel?
Which caramel u used
