How would the Eibachs compare with the KYB and Bilstein dampers? I'm upgrading to polyurethane bushings, stainless brake lines with Redline DOT4 full synthetic brake fluid. Then EBC USR Rotors and YellowStuff Brake pads on a 2017 Camry V6 XSE.
I had to pause at 3:20... that 4 liter, while slow and clunky, is probably one of the best engines ever. My wifes 06 has 332k miles and still runs like new, I just bought a 23 ORP, came out of a Porsche Macan S. I'm loving the 4runner
I literally just bought this exact suspension setup for my 2014 limited and had not seen many videos at all on the setup. My local shop said I’d love it and this makes me so excited to get it installed!
@@jimmycheung2363 The suspension is awesome. Drives smooth with a good amount of lift but nothing crazy. Drives so much better than stock and the steering smoothed out significantly as well. Highly recommend this setup for daily driving with light off road use. I also just completed the limited front bumper swap as well and the 4Runner is looking 🔥.
I can also say that it is far superior to the spacer lift I have had in the past. The spacer lift rod pretty good but bumps on washout were awful and it felt like you floated while driving at times. This setup is soft but very stable. You are very planted while getting the cushion of a luxury ride. I think that is the best comparison or overview I can give.
@@jimmymccracken1394 ✊🏻much appreciated brother! Been looking everywhere for a review on the eibach 2.0s for 4Runners! I'm so glad you flat out replaced the calipers/pistons. $150-300 is definitely a good investment to know your front brakes are at/near 100% integrity. Replacing front calipers/pistons, is such a ease-off the mind. Builds a lot more confidence in the vehicle, I've redone my whole family's brakes, after seeing they were all looking like mine that I replaced, rotted to the core, pins didn't slide, re-lubing them didn't help, still jammed up with rust and half-way falling apart while working with it. So everyone in the family knows we at least can safely brake, especially while my family is aging, I want them to have safe vehicles.
Yup, you just gotta cut sway-bar links anymore. Even zinc-coated grade-8 hardware, I've had to cut, and boy was the grade-8 a bitch to cut through. Messy metallic cloud, inhaled :P Sometimes you can free the nut with a U-wedge fork tool, that is used for popping ball-joints out, to put enough force on it in the wheel-well is hard to do at times, the angles and space.
I think if I spent the same exact money on everything, on a build like this, I would pass on the bumpers, instead I'd plasti-dip the stock ones, then spend that bumper money on inner and outer tie rods, full ball joint replacement, full bushing replacement, full coolant hose kit, quality aftermarket radiator/fan, and oil cooler(or upgrade if it has a small one).
I have the 5th gen 2016 Limited. The brake dive diminished substantially when I upgraded the brakes to Power Stop. But I am disappointed with how quickly they wore out. Only lasted 30,000 kms. I am replacing them with an EBC setup. I also have the Xtras system but I use 1.25" Spider Trax spacers and run my tires @ 36 psi. It corners amazingly well for such a high riding heavy vehicle. However when the shocks start leaking I definitely will give the Eibach suspension a try. Loved this vid. Can't wait to see what that Magnuson supercharger will do. That is my next major upgrade. Keep the great vids coming guys!
I’m still driving my 1996 4-Runner Ltd....354k km, TRD Supercharger, URD fuel system upgrades and Split Second piggyback CPU, Bilstein shocks and Addco sway bars. Best vehicle I’ve ever purchased. Bought new in December 1996 and I’ve never had to add a drop of oil between changes. Original exhaust system lasted over 20 years and just replaced original radiator this week due to a small leak.
Just save for a new one at this point, the older models are nice but if you are looking to dump 5k+ into it the markets not really sustainable for that right now.
New car is the way to go.. Put a deposit $1000 on one now.. Drive for a year or two and sell for almost what u bought it for plus will have loyalty on next Toyota.

You guys should look in to a pedal commander to get rid of that latency in the gas pedal. I put one on my ls430 and the car feels like a completely different animal
That's funny because on my v6 Rav4 and Venza, they're way too aggressive on tip in. I got a tune for the Rav4 for rear 02 delete for headers and forgot to ask to have tip in softened a bit.

No extra bs to do.
Eibach makes really good suspension... they make hondas actually handle on the highway without losing too much speed with precise load control. i can only imagine how it would be on a 4runner

Nice! Glad you went with General tires! I find they make exceptional winter tires that do not wear-out-fast like other brands. I would get the same tire, mostly highway, some offroad, in the Grabber lines. I've driven many days on General winter tires, on 90 degree days(not by choice, just road-tripping in the winter), but didn't notice the additional-wear that my last pair of Blizzaks would show. I could get maybe 20k-25k miles out of of Blizzaks(if worn on the occasional hot day), where I believe I'll get 40-50k out of my current General winter tires. Also, Blizzaks couldn't take the occasional abuse from gravel roads, where I've noticed the General Altimax V2(on my Honda Civic) are holding up to the occasional 5-10 mile long country road.
I have a 4Runner this generation, and the motor makes me hate it enough that I'm thinking of selling it and picking up a mid 2000s Tahoe or Suburban. I was thinking if I were to do that, I'd look down in Texas to get one that's rust-free. I'm in New England, so my 4Runner looks like this underneath too.
If you dont need features the 4th gen is best. Same truck, lighter, cheaper. Or if you want to sacrifice a small amount of space fj cruiser. I own two because they are so good.
@Es1c one since 2012 and one since 2018 after my wife's gti got totaled. Mine has never had a problem or to the dealer and I have 140000 on it now. All I do is service it. Hers was to the dealer for matainence and some small problem i font remember but we have all the records. Hers has 165000 on it now. Both are the 6 speeds with rear lockers, and atrac. Got to love the manual transfer case as well. Less to go wrong and wont leave you potentialy stranded. I bought both for a deal and I dont want to tell you what I paid hahaha. Let's just say I can still make money even without all the mods. If I turned them back to stock and sold parts I think I could make 25000 in total. If you are looking just keep looking until you find the right one at the right price and who cares about color but I did luck out on the black cherry that I wanted even though I only was it every 6 years or so hahaha.

If the 'eco' light turns off and on depending how heavy your right foot is, then it's probably Toyota's eco coaching light - it's not a mode. It just lets you know if you're driving within the parameters that should get you the rated fuel economy numbers (when the car was new and bone stock). Looking forward to your build!
I've gotten 21.5 mpg with my 4runner limited regularly on the highway at 70 mph. But of course I still had my 20in wheel and tires on it before switching to the 17in wheels and tires
Congrats on a new project! Great color! Back in 2018 I got rid of my 2013 SR5 4runner for the same reasons you mentioned. Rotors lasted one month tops before getting warped (did not even tow anything). That thing was not that easy to stop. I’m excited to see what you guys do with it!
Always expect great things from these guys. By far my favorite automotive youtube channel, I'm looking forward to a million subs really soon. Great job guys, you never disappoint looking forward to part 2.
GC8 build next! Love your channel. More vids please! Almost at 1/2 million subs ! I still remember the chicken coupe. LOL. More track battles would be good too.
It’s hot in AZ, but we don’t have those rust/corrosion issues. All Toyota 4Runner have issues with their brakes due to the design of their electronic brake booster which uses an electrical motor to keep the system pressurized. There is a way to salvage the entire brake booster unit without having to replace it every few years. Car Care Nut, a Senior Toyota Master Technician, is on the verge of showing this repair. It will save Toyota 4Runner owners a big chunk of change.
I have wanted a 4 Runner for so long. I’m going to EMT school to be a firefighter and I need a vehicle that can handle anything weather wise since I’ll be a first responder and can’t just call in because of bad weather haha. Right now I have an Infiniti G37.
Technically yes it's the same engine, but the 2010 4runners had a small change to the engine, I think they have dual variable cam timing. Reasons the oil filter isn't at the top anymore. Also the 5th gen is about 500lbs heavier than a 4th gen... And tuned for eco. The 4th gen will beat it to 60 due to weight and tune. Also the geometry with a lift is different and would suggest aftermarket ucas if your alignment needs help. As for the rake, it's a body design thing, at level the nose will technically be pointing to the sky. But they do look better!! I'm excited to see a 4runner! I need heftier front springs on my 4runner to help with my nose dive
I don't know if quick and easy was the right choice for a title. Looked pretty involved and quite expensive I bet. But nicely done! I have a 2022 TRD Sport and I hope to get a little bit of a lift and some 17s with a little more rubber underneath. But thats for down the road. I am still recovering from the purchase!
Super nice build.. I have a 2013 Limited and i was wondering how to do that stock suspension delete. Do you guys mind having another episode and talk about it? I'd like to do the same to my 4Runner. Cheers mates.
LOL that's not even bad. Not a myth that all, any Toyota that is driven in an area where they use road salt type chemicals, is going to rust quite badly. I live in New England and have a 2013, it looked very similar to this before I got under it with a wire wheel on a drill and sanded it all down and treated it. Hopefully it lasts, I think there are probably a lot of Toyotas that made it to the junkyard because the frames rotted out and not for mechanical issues. I was looking for an older one and I gave up because a lot of them were just too corroded.
Man that slow-mo comparison between the stock and Eibach suspensions was especially slick. Nice touch. Looking forward to this build!
It visualizes the dramatic improvement in damping, underlining their reaction. And because they are sponsored, it adds dividents to their credibility. So yeah, great shots!

It just lets you know if you're driving within the parameters that should get you the rated fuel economy numbers (when the car was new and bone stock). Looking forward to your build!
Yeah if u want the eco light to stay on, don't gas it that much...
I love how easy it is to adjust the height on those. My fox coilovers you have to take off the truck.
I had one of these as a rental car and everything you said about how the car reacts while braking is 100% true lol.
You guys make me happy 😃
Man. My 4R just went up in price. Lol. Got it new around $43k and now it’s still holding around $39-43k. Basically a free car. Lol.
only if you sell it now.
Always great content! This four part series is really great. Thanks for all your hard work!
Can't wait for part 2!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m sold and getting the Eibach stage 2 for my 4Runner.
Pete you just always seem to go all out baller style! Cant wait for the next episode
I love it , they are like old school land cruisers😊
What a difference that suspension was! All that surface rust is rough tho!
Always expect great things from these guys. By far my favorite automotive youtube channel, I'm looking forward to a million subs really soon. Great job guys, you never disappoint looking forward to part 2.
This is tooo coool. I love 4runners.
awesome stuff guys.... Let put those Volk Rays on NOW!!!!!
Just drove by Sunrise Toyota yesterday.
Awesome video! Watched every second of it. Loved the final test drive. Excluding the tire setup, how much did the suspension mod cost?
GC8 build next! Love your channel. More vids please! Almost at 1/2 million subs ! I still remember the chicken coupe. LOL. More track battles would be good too.
i used DPs boob jiggle to decide which suspension set up was less jarring, i think the eibachs are good
I have an eta of another week before I get my eibach kit for my 2021 4Runner. Can’t wait! Excited to see how yours turns out.
You keep making me want Toyota products that are blown?
Crazy
One of the people carriers I’ve always wanted. Nice grab! The reveal at the end is exciting.
When’s the next livestream?
Wish you guys got the stop tech caliper upgrades, it would finish it off nicely 👌
I have wanted a 4 Runner for so long. I’m going to EMT school to be a firefighter and I need a vehicle that can handle anything weather wise since I’ll be a first responder and can’t just call in because of bad weather haha. Right now I have an Infiniti G37.
love the 4R build!
makes me happy to live in southern California
Summer wheels volks racing I saw one the other day same year as yours with Te’s looks so good on 4Runner
Luvin this build! 👍
OHHH YEAA!!!!! do a 3rd gen 4runner build next..
Nice you guys got the eibach, they made me wait 3 months and never shipped them to me while promising me 3 different dates that it would be shipped.
And the real reason for moving from the Touareg is revealed. :-)
Looking good!
Holy cow!!!! I thought Toyota rusting out was a myth!!!
