2.5 Factory Series Adjustable Coilover Reservoir Shock - bit.ly/3ArgPwD
2.5 Factory Series Reservoir Shock Set - bit.ly/3OMmIck
Ball Joint Upper Control Arms - bit.ly/3Ahviv8
OME 2.75" Lift - Heavy Duty Rear Lifted Leaf Spring - bit.ly/3ad3wp0
T8 "Seeker" - 17x9 - bit.ly/3yBcjKC
1" Diff Drop Spacer Kit - bit.ly/3TVxJtr
Weld-On Body Mount Chop Plates - bit.ly/3Emshdn
The new control arms aren’t just a strength issue. More importantly they corrects the ball joint angles and depending on the UCA increases travel. You can run stock UCAs but will see premature wear on the ball joints and depending on the coilover they may bottom out and hit the spring.
Ran stock UCAs with coil-overs for years before I went LT.
After a while it all just sounds like a sponsored or promoted product video. Until I see a shop get out there and actuallly do real world wheel, then all they are is nut and bolt lefty looosey righty tighty follow instruction. I can do that. What I want is a shop that has seen vehicles develop over the years and watched what failed or needed upgrading and for what reasons.
Brings tears to my eyes to see truck lifts being done the right way. I see so many nightmare lifts and the results afterwards.
I have to say that the way you guys bent the inner fender out of the way for the UCL bolt was WAYYY overkill. I did the lift on my 2017 DCSB myself and never damaged the paint. I just wrapped a thick leather welding glove around the panel, and clamped a piece of 1/8" thick steel scrap on either side between the channel lock jaws, and bent the panel enough for the bolt head to slip by (twice). After the bolt was removed, UCA swapped, and bolt replaced, I used the same method and bent the panel back into place. No damage!
🤦🏻♂️ That wasn’t overkill.
Cab mount chop and beating the pinch welds flat and we talking about bending the inner fender back a few inches 🙄 just keep that truck nice and pretty for the next guy to use her, lol.
Definitely necessary in order for installation but I agree they could have done a cleaner job
@@juliansnow693 Not at all necessary to the extent that was done in this video. As I said, I did mine myself and you couldn't tell I even touched it. They just went "full send" for no reason.
It’s super hack work. All of it.
Agreed… stopped watching after seeing this, bad mechanics trying to sell overpriced upgrades.
My dream car/truck of all time! I wouldn’t trade it for any supercar! Thanks for the video!
I was the same, I would of traded a super car for a Tacoma in a heart beat. always wanted a Tacoma ever since I was a kid. I was finally able to purchase one. Keep pushing and working hard. You’ll get it one day
@@Epidemik8bit thanks bro👊🏼I am very happy that you got yours😄cheers
Holy smoke. Great job showing everyone exactly the type of shop to stay away from. After watching this there is not a chance I would have these guys touch my truck.
Lol you are worried about nothing, do you even take your truck off road?
FFS…no kidding. 🤦♂️
These guys installed everything and then got it aligned. What’s not to like? Such a weird comment. 🤷🏼♂️
@@HoglundOverland Not sure, maybe raping the pinch weld in the fender well to the point where rain water will cause rust from paint being removed…and hacking the absolute sh*t out of the inner fender liner and fender flares with a f*cking angle grinder. Might have something to do with it. Comments like yours are why hacks get away with the crap they do…because most people don’t care. This is why I work on my own stuff. 🙄
nuts and bolts , high dollar lift what didn't you like
Love the way you handle that UCA at 2:54
I see a blown stock steering box and over bent rear springs coming for this truck if it is ran off road like this.
Why not spend a few more bucks and do a U-Bolt flip kit, with longer bump stops, extended brake lines, and ECGS bushing for the front axle before calling the suspension swap complete?
Also, that CMC was horrid! In the future, don't waste your time with a precut cmc fill piece, unless you can actually cut the correct amount of material to match it. Just cut out the material you want removed, clean up the cut and then tap a piece of cardboard against the new opening. Use this CAD (cardboard aided drafting) as a template to cut out the replacement piece. Booom, Bob's your uncle!
You cant ask too much from a general wheel and tire shop bolting on kits out of the box. The Ubolt flip is a good idea, and almost a no brainer when bolting up $1000s in suspension mods to the truck.
@@ShockSurplus Gotta cut corners somewhere, right?
Whole video plays more like an add than anything else.
Because a u-bolt flip kit requires welding new lower shock mounts. That’s way out of their skill set
@@bailey7067 Nope. Where did you get that idea?
10:11, that's a lot of weight. if those are .50oz weights that's 9.00oz as a static, but BFG isn't know for being the roundest in the industry. Do appreciate the build quality.
As a mechanic I love watching these types of videos.
And me as an electronics engineer 🙃
Inside and outside is just perfect!
I'd love to have a Tacoma. One with a manual transmission would be awsome. No oversize tires for me though. I'd undercoat it. Drive it up and down the beach. That's the only aftermarket I would need.
Hey guys this bolt isn’t going to come out so this guy is going to show you how to bend the frame so you can get it out! Top notch build!
Man, I went back to almost stock with my tires. Love the added range.
You’ll definitely need an upgrade steering components for this big tires 🛞
Re gearing it with lockers would be the best mod
That mechanic is a beast! He knows wassup
Perfect build just right !
I just put new rims and tires on my gen 2 Tacoma and I can’t tell you how much I love it more, I’m a Tacoma fanatic and these news tires glide across the road and get amazing grip in the dirt and sand.
What wheels and tires you running ??
@@Rm00321 I’d have to ask my dad all I know is there 17 inch tires both factory rims and tires, lmao I think my dad loves my truck more than me but I can’t blame him tacomas are the shit.
Edit: just Toyota sport rims and tires, but they look damn good
i bet all these people hating on the build quality/shop are still gona try to win this truck. keep up the good work Mateo!
Got a bunch of at home mechanics on the comments going crazy 😂
@@tacomabeast guys, realistically, I ordered the t8 seekers will i have a problem with abnormal wear on tires, suspension, or other components? im kinda worried about the offset being a little too much
My favorite truck🥰🥰🥰much love from Nepal 🇳🇵🙏😊
Great looking mods. That truck is sweet. I’d love to have you guys mod my mint 2003 Tacoma.
This truck is going to look so SICK double parked at a Walmart parking lot, can't wait to see it out in the wild!
😂
Joseph from Uganda I love the way you biff up those machines they look like they should be driven on planet Mars
u definitely need to re gear bro. thats your first priority after changing to oversized tires.
👀
I’ve had BFG K02 and now I have Nitto ridge grapplers they are sick!
Tacoma is a CMC or cab mount chop not body mount chop like on a 4 runner. I would have most definitely done a u bolt flip kit and upgraded the bump stops. And what’s the plan on regear? This set up won’t even touch 5-6 gear on the freeway with oem high gearing.
No regear with 35’s? 😂
Stay tuned bro 👀
I love the color and setup of this Truck, Tacoma is best for OffRoad trail.
I agree!
I love Tacoma’s and you guys killed it with these upgrades
This beast is definitely built for Africa
You don't have to beat the F out of the spindle and leave marks to separate the balljoints. sloppy af
The whole build is sloppy.
Cringe.
Definitely wouldn’t let these folks touch my truck.
Damn y’all are a bunch of haters
@@nicholasruiz7592 They are haters for not liking poor quality work? Grow up.
Not a car pro, but I wonder if cutting into what seems like the frame is a good idea. Would love some insight.
You all did a really nice job. Sadly, as a former 2017 Tacoma V6 owner I can tell you that unless that truck was a manual transmission those giant heavy tires are going to make that already gear hunting transmission an absolute nightmare. I put 33's on mine and it barely had enough power to keep it at 75-80 on the highway. It wouldn't go any faster than 90 there just wasn't enough HP and torque.
At 35 inch tires....can you even do 75?
They did say they were going to re-gear it so should be no problem
We’re gonna re-gear it so don’t worry 🤙
@@tacomabeast Smart!
That Tacoma is going to be a beast!! I’m finally getting a little closer to having some money and building one next year!! This is my dream!
You could always win this one 🤷♂️😂
Great job Mateo. You continue to stick your chest out for the latin community. Again, great job young man and congratulations on all your achievements. Keep it up!
Wow amazing ... napakagandang pick up..salute to you guys ... my dream truck.. god bless ride safe olways..
Awesome build but I feel like for any off-road adventure trail or prerunning I prefer the beadlocks but If this is a daily driver then it’s pretty clean but kinda wouldve done like a black and maybe grey wheel. My hometown white 3rd yotas everyone has all black wheels. But like mine the cement color I threw on the fuel covert black/bronze wheels and oh man it’s a head turner everywhere I go
Just wit the lift is so sick!!!
10 things wrong in this video
1. did not show any torque spec, basically just run them with an impact-no torque wrench is shown in the video.
2.did not torqued suspension at ride height-- you will get premature on the upper control arm bushings and rear squeaky old man emu
3. 1.6degree caster is consider too low for tacoma-your ride quality will suffer on highway.
4. base on the video on the wheel weights,- i see static balance on the wheel, maybe 3 rows of stickers, assuming each one is 0.5,thats a bit too much on the ,maybe try to do a 90 degree turn of 180degrees to bring down the wheel weights.
5.when compressing the coil over-maybe put a tape or somesort so you dont damaged the nice finishes on the brand new coil
6.when balancing tacoma wheels-- its consider a lug centric wheels, so if you balance with hub centric , you might get vibration
7.when your pry the body to get the bolt out, you dont need to pry that much to get it out.just need a slight pry on it.
8.maybe consider showing people install a needle bearings on the diff and prop shaft spacer to eliminate driveline vibration
9.when installed u bolts on the rear - you should retorque them after few miles
10.if you do this for long enough, every tacoma with 3 inch lift, you should able to adjust the caster and camber when your doing the front strut-it will be somewhere silmiar. and also i wouldnt recommend do the alignment right away--- i would drive it and wait for the suspension settles after 50-150km before doing alignment-- and yes -your ride height will lower a bit.
11.not a welder myself, but base on the video, the weld looks very weak and crappy.
and yes i installed many many suspension on 4runners and tacoma before
not trying to bash the video, but if your showing people how to do it in the driveway,--maybe at least show them the proper procedure.
instead of just uggu dugga, that just my 2 cents.
Appreciate all the knowledge bro, we were more trying to show the mods we’re adding to the taco, not so much how to add them. But we’ll keep that in mind for future videos 🤙
Leafsprings compromise the on road capabilities thus enhancing off road ones, also to notice the rear has got drum brakes what toyota thinks about that this truck will not go off the road in wet conditions? Good luck to the one which gets this tacoma and best wishes.
Best video on utube! Johnathan is a beast👌!!!!. I searched 4 years for a simple detailed video and I just found it. Kudos 👏 💐 man.
looks like a real beast now
What’s up brotha. The truck looks amazing and it’s cool adding all those upgrades. But people never mention anything about the engine. That power train is very weak, even at stock form, so I can only Imagine the stress it goes through when you add the lift, tires and all your gear. How well does it run after the transformation?
nah, spend 3-$400 to remap the pcm and you unlock whats capable by a long shot. stock is just toyota trying to abide with the epa and poor calculations for shift points for mpg.
@@xXkillahbudz i have heard you can do that to these trucks, how bad does that hurt mileage? I mean 35s on 3inchs hurts mileage already anyways😂
@@RandomUser2388 it should most likely just improve. The shift points are very linear reaching higher rpms for each shift like it should be. There is KDMax and OTT(overland Tailor tune) that I am familiar with. Both are better than the OV tune. They are specific in third generation Tacoma's. I have an overland tailor tune which you can specify throttle response for it, KD Max has this as well. It is by far the best upgrade you can do for your truck as a starting point in my opinion. I personally fell in love with my truck again, felt like a brand new truck that feels like how it should have been driving off the lot. You can always change it back to stock if you want, but there's a 97% chance that you won't haha just notify the tuner if you have aftermarket gearing, tire size won't matter. all these guys keep in touch with the creators constantly to give feedback and updates.
@@RandomUser2388 and I gained three to four MPG
@@xXkillahbudz tuned by loi using vftuner/ovtuned is by far better than KDMax and OTT
Can’t stop dreaming of this vehicle
Having a truck or any car right now would clear all my problems in life
Sweet build, but I want to be that guy and critique a few things. First, homeslice is a good host, but he doesn't mention why you would want to install aftermarket UCAs, or why these are "required" when using the Fox 2.5" Coilovers. The UCAs add clearance between the back of the balljoint area where it would contact the coilspring when drooping. What the host failed to mention, is one of the best benefits (on most aftermarket UCAs), which is the added caster adjustment for more tire clearance at the cab corner/cab mount area. Also worth noting, UCAs on a Toyota IFS setup don't encounter a ton of suspension force like the LCA does, so the strength benefits will only be seen if you're absolutely thrashing the taco (at which point you will have other problems like bottoming out and bending spindles.)
Second, @ 10:10 mark, that's a lot of weight for balancing. I'd break the bead and see if you can spin the tire 180 to get a better balance, or consider replacing with a different tire.
Third and final thing, The tire should have been mounted and the shock assembly removed, so you can check for tire clearance at all suspension compression heights and steering postions.
Ive got concerns with how the body mount chop was welded and not on the top
same, I just watched that part and it looks like absolute shit.
It's a wonderful projekt. Send this to Germany, I would represent your work and would be glad to ride it offroad around Germany.
You guys should really be using a torque wrench on something as crucial as suspension. Especially on a giveaway truck.
Nothing like the Taco. Cheers 🍻
Man I miss my Taco… I hope the new one fits 6’ 4” people better
It should. I’m 6’3 and my dad is 6’5. Since 2020 if not 2019 the diver’s seat can telescope up and down for different height. I can fit in the trucks with the sunroof with the seat pushed down.
@@addisonsmith3503 I had a 2020. The seat just does not fit me. I had a herniated disc and the chair trigger it more than anything else.
Can’t stop watching this video. 👏👏
Love these damn videos brother! Man I wish I could afford this truck! My family needs it more than ever! Heck I’d do anything to own this
We’re giving it away!
Like what you did to the truck, I have a T6 Ford Ranger XLT & I could do that same thing to it.
I’m sure it would look sick too
I still think 33in tires are a sweet spot for a Taco.
I really want to put mud terrains and fox suspension on my truck now. Such a cool set up. Well done!
Those upper control arm bushings are definitely failing prematurely. You need to make sure suspension is at ride height before tightening upper and lower control arm bushings.
He brought in dude like there was a pro way of removing that bolt ! 😆
I love the video editing! Smooth visual and audio transitions and the video was to the point! It's great seeing the benefits of your channel growth! And of course the taco looks sick! Nice work!
I'm interested in getting a new Tacoma. Should I start with a Tacoma pro for a build like this?
You can start with more basic models and add aftermarket parts too it’s up to you 🤙
@@tacomabeast thank you
I love these guys .. They know what to do and how to get the best result. Well done :)
I love it the New look of Tacoma, very Bulky and when you drive that truck you look awesome.... Very good and Nice.... I hope drive that truck.... Good job Sir
No way that you bought all this for $7500 unless you got deals below dealer price.
Suspension wheels and tires. Yeah that’s worth $7500. 🤷🏼♂️
Mannnn, tacomas are literally my dream car. I’m working so hard to get one, but to get one like this, idk how I’d react. That’d be a whole dream come true!
Don’t put tires these big on your Tacoma or you’ll be paying more for gas than your car loan
What year ?
35" tires on that tacoma is such a terrible idea. The engine and gearing is terrible, that will be such a frustrating vehicle to drive. Also enjoy the 13 mpg on a engine with no power.
Who said we weren’t gonna re gear it 😳
I have 35s on mine with 6in lift and still clear 18-20 miles to gallon but it is slow as a turd tho lol
What’s a good tire size?
@@hosoiarchives4858 265/75 r16 they will also fit a stock tacoma without rubbing, barely, but also fit a lifted tacoma well unless you go higher than 3". also get the "B" load, It's slighter lighter and softer for a better ride and also plenty tough for offroad. If you get "E" load, they are stiff as rocks and heavy. Too much for the tacoma.
I Love Tacoma! I hope we have here in the Phils.
Can't wait to have it in my garage
I like how they painted the drill black when we all know it’s Milwaukee
😳
im from the Philippines id love it so much trucks are my favorite ride even though i dont have enough money to buy. i love each and every one of your content. hope i can be pick. God bless stay safe keep safe.

I hope they release this into the Aussie market!!! Mate i want one
Excellent project I love it I have an 02 that I will sell due. My little sister illness . This will my dream truck
Wow, awesome I like the look, totally amazing track 👍👍👍
Make sure you are not tightening the sway bar or the upper control arm fully until it’s sitting on the ground. You’ll bind the bushing and have squeaking/binding issues otherwise down the road.
i hope i won that tacoma,, im here in Philippines sir tacomabeast,, i saw a lot your video since your the tacoma ,, and i saw when you are in utah for solo camping,, i love that sir,, i love so much toyota tacoma,,, ,i dont have a four wheels vehicle sir ,,, im just so happy to a person like that just like you sir,, learning a lot about the vehicle,, thats ,watching your video ,,thats cool for me men,,
