My hope is that someday Razer opts to release an updated DA "Classic" which uses the V2 shape. The changes I would personally like for a DA V2 successor are: 1) Unibody shell (no more connecting lines) 2) Shorten up that black plastic bar containing the DPI buttons (top behind the clicks) to be just the size of the buttons and push it up against the wheel so it's positioned more like the Elite. My fingers sometimes lay across the black bar and I think there's not much reason to have that black bar be so much bigger in size than the buttons it contains. 3) I want them to keep the shape the same as it is, but then just lengthen out the front where the clicks are slightly since sometimes my fingers can come off the end. I emphatically do not want them to change anything else about the shape though, the mouse hump/width, everything else is basically perfect shape-wise for me. 4) I would prefer they rotate the side button backwards along the thumb groove such that they are positioned slightly closer to the mouse hump as I don't really find it comfortable to reach that furthest forward side button. 5) Proper split trigger switches would be nice too. 6) Round the harsh edges/corners underneath the clicks (i'm not suggesting they remove the front flairing to clarify) Unfortunately the classic DA shape may just be dead at this point so RIP.
ive used dozens of mice but DA v2 will hold an extremely special place in my heart until the day that i die. all it needs is some more premium materials. perfect mouse.
I hear you, it's a really comfortable ergo at least for my grip style and hand size. Other people seem to be quite hard on it and prefer other ergos like the EC2 or the DA V3, but for me those shapes are just not as comfortable considering how I hold the mouse. Considering how crazy popular the DA was it's kind of mind blowing to me that they abandoned the shape and made an EC2-esc mouse instead. The DA V3 simply isn't a death adder. Good mouse overall, sure, but the shape is totally different. There were many avenues for Razer to keep the V2 shape that its fans love while moving the mouse forward in other ways like what I talked about in the video. What they did with the V3 sorta baffles me because that mouse really isn't like the classic DA shape.
