I can relate had a big old pine about a 38 in stump twist on me knocked me and saw through the air away from it thank God but when I landed foot gave out on pine needles and I set saw down on leg had 163 stitches inside and out everyone says you should have stopped the blade but honestly it happened so quick saw didn't have time thank God I kept my chain sharp or would have lost my leg still have the husqvarna 51 as a remembrance of that day thank God Wade that your still with us a lot of guys go to work and never return
I've had to do that same thing a time or two myself wade never a good feeling when ya gotta cut that hinge off but it's like you said I'd done it before n never had a problem but like you there's always the first time for everything glad your still with us bud get healed up n get back at her
Good on you for sharing. It shows that you ALWAYS need to have a plan A and B and C sometimes. You have to be ready and alert of everything no matter who you are. Just glad you made it through. I've had some close ones too and it sure makes you respect inertia and weight. Things can get ugly in a hurry.
Damn Wade that was close bud I had the same thing happen to me 2 years ago only it didn't break my foot it broke my leg never can be to careful out in the timber thats for sure get well soon Wade.
Logger Wade Like it says in my John Deere owners manuals...⚠💀↔📖"SAFETY-LIVE-WITH-IT".Think safe,be safe Wade, this video should be in all safety meetings dealing in heavy equipment/forestry.🚜💨
Glad you will be walking and talking. It happened to me this summer, topping a hickory under tension, late in the day, with my head up my ass. After 5 months I'm walking again. I can operate the skidder, slasher, or buncher, but I may never be good at hand cutting again. Stay safe my friend.
dam wade be careful bud! No one likes to hear it when a fellow logger gets jammed up. Glad to hear your ok. Its funny how sometimes you'll see something happen, or go bad, even before it actually does and even then we still continue. We've all been there in one way or another, and I believe I heard you say ''Anyone who has spent any time in the woods has had a close call or two", so true. Stay safe buddy:)
Nobody teaches that method but everybody here knows how to do it. On my ride I ended up on my back with my legs resting on the tree stem. No damage but dislocated pride. Hope ya mend quick. Take care.
Dropped several trees today. Funny, the only thing I think of before I notch is,how would Wade do this safely? You've taught me allot about how to drop trees and stay safe, I'll just take this as another lesson. Glad you're OK man.
Wade, that is dome scary shit. Man the wife and kids need you. Stay focused. Stay alive. We like the videos you do because they are not any prima donna stuff. You tell it like it is, and when you screw the pooch, you let everyone know so they might be a little more attentive. Love you bro!
Glad to hear your basically OK but hurting - both mentally and physically!! That's what I call too close for comfort especially for family and others really close to you. Hope you soon heal up OK but what are you going to put your mind to do while your "grounded"??
you be careful little billy bob aint had a chance to meet you & shake your hand yet so I want you stick around for a little while! Hope you heal up quick.
hey wade check out the latest vid mammy just posted our 30th aniy & and im on logging job aw hell what a romantic sombitch ha? bet your wife could really really relate to such romance too .lol!
That's some scary stuff, I had just cut a skid and went down over the hill to top them and I'd just topped the last one, it was a basswood and I was heading back up the hill and it took off and ran my right foot/ankle over. It scared me more than anything. I screamed like a girl too but I just sprang it and it swelled up and bruised bad but it could of been way worse. Defiantly makes u a little gun shy.
I was limbing a felled tree years ago, and messed up and cut it wrong. It rolled over and onto my right leg and pinned me. Had to cut myself out with the saw. Shut happens quick. Please be careful and stay focused. You know that feeling you get when you are about to do something and you know you shouldn't do it. Don't do it.
when a tree goes the wrong way on me I just move up 4 feet and hinge it the way it wants to go. Is that wrong.??? I hate it when it happens should just walk away and let the wind take her down

Oh heck we Kinda just got pressured into a hurry up decision... The doc is talking about surgery and stuff but I'm not convinced it's that bad but it could quite possibly turn into a $10,000 deal if he has to put metal in it so we just put it on comp
+Josh Mclarty yup use the standard skip full chisel chain for cutting clean wood. If a guy starts getting into contaminates he starts getting a more rounded corner
