It was an absolute honor being taken under your wing and a part of this project. It was a big step out for me, and it has forever changed my life for the better. Thank you for everything David
You probably won't realise this but i think you are an inspiration to a lot of people. U did so well, its easy to give up but u pulled through and u should be super proud of that.
Dude, I don’t understand why this video doesn’t have at least 1mil views, IT’S PERFECT, the scenes are well aranged, I can feel like I’m there every second, I feel engaged, you menaged to teach him how to scream the first lesson, he was amazing immediately, the growing of the band got me thinking like there’s hope, I really do hope that you get your views up and subscribers, I also hope you continue with awesome videos like this one!
There's a lot of overlap between Angelo's story and my own current situation. I luckily haven't had to deal with abuse, but many of the other things apply. Gut health, avoidant tendencies, and I too have been spinning my wheels for a long time. Including on learning music. Screaming, singing, guitar, and other forms of art as well. The part about having lost enjoyment and feeling gray is something that has defined my life for the past seven years. But I believe I am making slow progress, and this video, showing people in similar situations as myself, overcoming their struggle and moving forwards, fills me with hope and determination that I might -- no, WILL be able to do the same. Thank you for this video. Thank you for not giving up on Angelo and his band, and for sharing this positivity and message of hope with the world. And also, thank you for being open with your own story and vulnerabilities as well. You're a good man. Stay awesome!🤘
This video really hit a chord with me, I'm 17 and I've had a lot of shit happen in my life. I'm at a point in my life that I'm just so fucking pissed with everything and I can't quite figure out what the root cause is. The only thing that calms my mind and gives me some peace is when I play music. Sadly, I don't have much time to and when I do it annoys my family because I'm really loud. Edit: The pun is now intended.
We need more videos about artists and their struggles, it’s a nice reminder that as musicians we’re connected by our passion for expression and how much work we put into our craft, even though we all have self doubts, that we can succeed/have fun if we just kept trying.
this video was so fucking emotional and inspirational i was just playing around with my voice and i learnt fry screams same way like the student here. i fucking love scream academy and riffshops and i think this video is what cured my stage fright thank you so much and thank you for sharing yours and your students story. Thank you Angelo
Gorgeously produced with some really profound storytelling. Somehow this video hits a specific craving I have for behind the scenes/vlog type band content and vocal training. Honestly Blown away.
Bro... Can I borrow your GIGACHAD jawline? 😂 Loved your video of you teaching your GF to fry scream. Such an amazing video and this one is living upto it! Love your work bro!
This is a story of a lot o people that have a dream but life turned out to have another plan for them. It feels nice to see Angelo faced his own fears and crushed it revealing his long hidden talent. Thanks to you!
What an incredible video, I feel really lucky to have seen this. Learning about Angelo and his struggles as well as your own and what you've done to overcome them was straight up inspiring. Thanks for being so open about life with your viewers. This is so much more than just a video about screaming. Heartwarming af, great job dude.
This…. This spoke to me on so many levels. Having already been through Screen Academy and acquired the skills needed to scream. And yet I completely feel what Angelo, David and so many others have felt. And still do. That I’m not good enough. That I can’t do this. Learned helplessness is very real. And if left unchecked it can be crushing. So thank you for this. It was a reminder that I’m not alone. And never have been. I’ll keep on trying and keep chasing my dreams no matter what.
This video resonates with me on a deep level because I've spent a lot of my life reaching for things only to stop as soon as something gets a little tough. Learning how to stop saying "I can't" and instead saying "Some day I will" is a big paradigm shift that has gotten me out of a lot of funks in my life and a lot of getting there just takes trying to do the thing you want to do. I'm someone who always wanted to make video games since I was a kid and for the longest time I'd just flounder with it because whenever I started looking into coding and stuff I'd just shut down and say it's too hard. What finally got me out of that was watching a quick crash course tutorial for a game engine I picked and then I joined a game jam. I threw myself into the fire to see what would come out of it. I ended up making a very simple and stupid clicker game. But still, I made something. I ended up trying a different engine after that and found one that actually stuck with me. I joined another game jam and made a slightly bigger project this time, and then another jam where I made my first fully 3D game. So long as you can get yourself to just start something and keep trying at it, you'll get there.
Good job Angelo and gjoob job David! doing all that while going through all those struggles is a huge feat. their first show was miles better than my first show
This was an absolutely incredible watch. Super inspirational and moving. I was not expecting that to be the direction of where the video was going but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. Hats off!
The crying baby wah wah thing is actually so cool. Its funny how small little things allow you to unlock a part of your voice you didnt know were possible.
I learned how to fry scream safety in 3 days just by following Hungry Light's tutorial. saying it takes longer than 30 days to learn the technique is madness. Granted, I still don't have a grasp on false chords but tbf, I haven't really tried all that hard.
3 days isn't enough to develop proper strenght for any basic vocalization for the vast majority of people, so unless your perception of your technique is delusional, you're an outlier. and in terms of advanced technique, anything less than 1 year is nigh impossible.
@Celatra oh yeah like the more advanced stuff takes way more time but to get a basic fry scream sound is not that hard and building upon that can come from experimentation.
When you played Angelo's vocal recording for his band for the first time, that was perfection! You could see Angelo slowly starting to accept the realization that he can do this! I know how it is going through depression and feeling like what's the point of working on and accomplishing anything. Along with hating yourself more than anyone else can, but in those rare moments when people see you and see what you're doing and approve of it it makes all the difference in the world, even just for a moment
This was honestly really beautiful and heartfelt. You should consider making this a series or at the very least take this kind of storytelling approach to your future videos, 26 minutes flew by. Awesome video, man
