    Thanks you Rek. I know it’s been about two years since you did this video but I just purchased the XDM elite and Pearce Grips to extend the mags and you couldn’t have been more helpful. There’s videos on UA-cam showing off the grip extension but not assembling it. Thanks again.

    I bought the XDm Elite 3.8 Compact BUILT FOR the 20 round mags. Same 3.8" barrel, but has a grip built for the extended 9mm mags. It's PERFECTION. It fits perfectly in my hand. Great firearm.

    Thanks for the video! I ordered the 22rd mag to do this, perfect setup!

    Excellent! Bought one today and the ONLY thing I didn't like was not having anywhere for my pinky to go. Doing this fixed it! I have the 4.5 as well and just swapped magazine plates with those and now the gun is comfortable and looks awesome. Thank you for sharing!

    Good video, thanks. Springfield could have done WWAAYYY better on that back strap and magazine sleeze. There is no reason the straps didn't have a set bottom that matched the same mag sleeve instead of this 1,2,3 stuff.

    That’s cool I also have the same issue but I like the back strap like u said but if I want more rounds the 22 round mag will need some modifications, i like the back strap piece with the 19 round mag it feels comfortable that magwell makes me uncomfortable to be honest.

    Hey @rekasky you can buy the mags with grip extension sleeves from Springfield Armory or you can buy the pinky extension plate from Pearce and ithey will both look and fit pretty dang well.

      Thank you. I looked at that option, too. But, I already have extra magazines. So far, I'm satisfied with what you see in this video.

    I just completed this modification and then took the mag well off for even more comfort. I was concerned that even though the magazine springs look to be the exact length of each other when swapping out. I contacted Springfield and they did not know, or could not tell me if the 13 and 19 round magazines came with he same mag spring.? I just want to make sure that this mod will work without causing a malfunction prior to using as my EDC. They did say there is two different part numbers for the two mag springs, but I believe that is due to the small black metal plate at the bottom which are different sizes on each

    The magwell doesn't bother me, I have long slender fingers. But the mags without the sleeves look weird without the magwell. If you remove the magwell, definitely get the mags with cooresponding sleeves.

    So I’m assuming you can do the same thing with the 10 mm magazines? So all I really need is to buy a 14 round magazine and a 22 round magazine and switch the base plates on them correct? Excellent video and your gun looks awesome.

    You should take the mag well flar off and just buy 17,19&22 rd mag and get sleeves for them and it turns the handle in a nice comfortable full size handle and be done with it keep to flush fitting mags so you can carry concealed and the rest with the mag sleeves they just slide on and off no mus no fus

    • @rekaksky
      @rekaksky  Рік тому

      Correct. It needs some force because of the spring. Give it a while, the spring needs some "exercise". On the other hand, having a magazine with 1 less round attached to your gun when you store it, is putting less stress on you rail. Making it easier to rack.

    • @rekaksky
      @rekaksky  2 роки тому +2

      Apparently, the 35 rounds mag is designed for XD-M that accepts double stack 9mm mag. Rumor is that Springfield is cooking a 9mm carbine, hence the 35 rounds mag is a start.
