Wish there was more Luke hosted things, he's just a natural. Also wish that liquid was way cheaper bet it would be great to handle the heat from the i9s and 4090s of the world
@@danieloberhofer9035 I can't find any real concern about evaporating PFCs related to human health, so I don't see any immediate harm about having it on your room. I like seeing Luke again. I started watching back when Luke "Slick" LaFriendo was a regular, way back before even the Fallout Bomb build. I LOVED the mineral oil PC series, and I know the rest of us oldheads would love to see a sequel. I know Luke just got a new build, so it would probably be a while out, but I would honestly watch every single minute of another Luke series, no matter what it was. I'd also buy merch (like a Luke + Mineral Oil meme shirt) for it. I realize that it isn't super practical to do another oil PC, but this new liquid doesn't seem too out of reach for LTT budget these days, and honestly ANY gimmicky build starring Luke is fun. I'm glad we see more of him again, and I welcome more content with him. *(NEW SCRAPYARD WARS HYPE!)*
honestly, my favorite part of that USB-C only motherboard is how much space is between the ports, my clumsy hands appreciate it & i wish immersion cooling wasn't so expensive so we could have more Rigs for dusty environments
I see 2 possible big issues with the emersion case other than cost. #1 labor intensive if you need to troubleshoot hardware. #2 For the case that isn't sealed, what is left behind that gets more concentrated as the liquid evaporates? And is that concentration going to be harmful to anything?
linus should upgrade luke’s system to this. It’s ridiculous, Luke would love it, it would still be a pain in the ass for him to upgrade anything himself so it’s still a “gift” PC. And come on, an immersion cooled PC on LTT would be a banger video even if it wasn’t one of the most beloved members of staff getting it!
CS1 haven't seen that since Military School where everyone but me was playing it on their dorm PC. I was too busy being the most ANTI-ESTABLISHMENT 7th grader in a 7th-12th grade Military School. It worked, I joined the very small list of people who were expelled from it, and brought down the most prestigious COMPANY at that school that literally had a 20 year COMPANY win streak for all 4 quarters. Company as in "FOXTROT", "ALPHA", "BRAVO", "CHARLIE", "ECHO", "DELTA", and "HOTEL". Hotel was notoriously the worst for like 10 years, Alpha and Delta were the two second bests constantly trading second and third rankings behind Foxtrot. I also got my tac officer to quite working there after 20 years of employment. LOL... I miss military school. It was fun raising hell.
That was Chloro-Fluoro-Carbons, so very close sounding, but different chemically -- enough to not kill the ozone anyways. I think I heard Per-Fluoro-Carbons in the video, so these are only Fluorine and Carbon.
Perfluorocarbons. Until now, and probably still, best known for their ability to allow humans and other mammals do a party trick called liquid breathing.
Ok how much would that fluorocarbon stuff cost to just fill your own closed loop water cooling system so if it ever fails you don’t have the chance of shorting
You know fluorocarbon liquid cooling (I think that is how it is spelled) might be great for the LTT server room, The amount they could saving on cooling might make up the price difference
Volatile PFCs have very high GWP and persistence, so I'd assume Canada -- which pretends to care as long as minimal change is required -- has likely banned them for such frivolous uses.

I'm running a 32" LG 1440p 165hz as my main and it's good enough. I just play single player titles on my TV in my game room if I want 4k 60 and I'm ok with it so far. When I can get a quality 4k 165+ for $500 or less I'll jump on it.
What a missed opportunity for Jake to say "moving up and down, side to side, like a rollercoaster" for the meme value at 2:40 , but I certainly don't blame him to not come up with it on the spot at the crowded convention center.
Really cool video but i don't think Perfluorocarbons are classified as oils. Though they are non polar they are also only composed of Fluor and Carbon and can´t be hydrocarbons what is needed to be classified as an oil.
I feel like Luke is better in those more spontaneous contexts then with the teleprompter stuff. He is also good in WAN show where he just says whatever.
05:41 We all know that most liquids need to be replaced at some point, so the real question is, how often would you have to spend between $2000 and $2500 on that unit?
The liquid I also have another theory for can you cryo cool the liquid so it goes way below zero? And doing so could you make a pc that can just be standard no worries change state/ crycooling
The only display I've ever seen in my entire life that has more than 60 Hertz refresh rate is my phone so I'll still be elated to get that MPG 240 4K that's sold out
Got some Novec 1230 in there? Amazing for extinguishing fires. Obviously non-conductive. I dunked my phone in a tank of it once. Terrible idea. Liquid got stuck behind the screen and I had myself a regret. Still worked fine but miscolored and annoying.
0:30 being able to switch between 4k240 and 1080p480 isn't a brag. It's a compromise because of bad and outdated bandwidth. It should have simply said 4k480, the panel can handle it. But Nvidia purposefully bottlenecked the 4000 series by not integrating display port. (a very smart way to sell the 5000 series) So we're stuck with this artificially created compromise
why is the video freezing? I've reloaded the video multiple times and it freezes in the exact same places, which makes me think it's not my computer but something with UA-cam or the video itself. Anyone else having this issue?

The Wi-Fi antenna built into the monitor is genius.
Other then not having the 480hz how dose a normal 4k monitor look if you just set that to 1080p?
Luke MOST DEFINITELY appeared on SC before. Also you don't need Type-A ports when you're in Taipei.
That's a very promising monitor, if the base isn't a mandatory piece and I can vesa mount just the panel I'm fairly interested.
