That brought me into tears this is kinda what I'm going through now. I hope I can build the strength and wisdom to accept that some patients are terminally ill and its not my fault that they're going through this :'( your advice is amazing.

      Rose H Hi Rose!
I know, I also have had a really hard time accepting this as well....
Especially when it is someone close to your age.
I remember one day I was caring for a beautiful woman who was only a few years older than me, but she had breast ca that had mets to pretty much everywhere.
I felt guilty for being healthy....
But I had to place my feelings aside so that I could take care of her...
I do think that me and the other wonderful nurses on the floor made her feel good.. :)

Caroline, I am in love with your UA-cam Chanel and your inspiring, motivational words. I would like to request a video or a simple response: what tips would you give to college students getting an AS degree, or what steps should you take into becoming a nurse, also is it a good idea for me to be a nurse first and then a PA? I'm confused, what do you think?

      monica corria Hi Monica!
It is great to hear from you!
Sure, once you get your AS degree RN in nursing, you could do the RN to BSN program.
If you ask your Associate degree school, I'm sure they can recommend some RN-BSN programs.
Then from there, you could apply to PA school.
I know a lot of PA's who were first nurses, so yes, this is a fine route :)
      I hope this helps!!
      xoxo

Well hopefully in the spring 2016. I apply this August. I know it's still awhile before I start but I'm so excited and also looking for more motivation because I know it's going to be so hard.

I've heard that a lot of nurses feel they need an entire day just to recove after 3 12 hr shifts, and another day to gear up before going back in the next week. Is this true at all in your experience? Also is it unheard of to work 4 9s instead of 3 12s? I feel it'd be easier on everyone

      Nāmaka Lis Hi Namaka!
It definitely has not been my experience...
I am a little bit of a workaholic and have worked as many as 6 days in a row (which I do not recommend!!). But for me 3 days is not that hard.
I do have to say though, you can have days that are extremely stressful..
But I think that diet has a lot to do with it.
If you eat healthy and drink plenty of water, you should be fine!
Also, a good pair of shoes is vital... so far, the only brand that I can recommend is Dansko clogs. I know they are ugly... but, well, you get used to them :D
Maybe one day a prettier pair of functional shoes will come out... if so, I will let you know!!
      xoxo

Hello Caroline, my name is Arlene. I'm gonna be attending nursing school this fall. Is there any advice to all of the nursing students like me who wants to pursue this rewarding career?
Thanks and I'm a huge huge fan of your videos! God bless you!

Arlene. Congratulation on choosing this very honorable profession called Nursing. It is a challenging, but very rewarding profession and your talent will be valuable in the near future. I'll advise to learn all you can, especially at the clinicals. Train and sharpen your critical thinking skill because it is crucial. Goodluck

Hello, I am from Russia and I want to become a nurse in USA. Could you provide me what kind of books I need to study to go to community college? I would be very grateful for the help.

    • @8AUGS
      @8AUGS 7 років тому

Julia. Each Nursing school has it's own program and text books. The required books may change from semester to semester. Don't buy a book until you are accepted into a school, at which time you'll have access to the required books. Goodluck.
