Thank you for posting this video, I had no idea MHS had a cam degree service with the Trickflow sprocket
hey can you link me the instructions you were following on your phone please?
Did this cam require cutting the pistons for valve clearance? I’m seeing that apparently the 270s require you to cut the pistons
question I have a 2v in my 98 F150 are you using stock ecm or standalone?
Stock
Did the spacer go before or after the crank sprocket
I don’t remember.
I have a question im installing new lash adjusters should i just put them in or do i have to prime them before putting them in. Ive gotten different advice from different people some say prime them some say just put them in without doing anything to them.
Prime them. Get all the air out of them. Let them sit in an oil bath for 24 hours and pump away.
@@RatchetstrapMedia so when i install them i shouldnt be able to press them in right??
They will very hard to press
@@RatchetstrapMedia thanks bro i really appreciate you replying
So my f150 got the 4.6 triton V8 in it could I put cam in it like this I haven’t seen any videos of my f150 cammed
Sure you can..there is videos of cammed 4.6/5.4 f150's on youtube
Absolutely. The heads should be the same if I recall correctly.
I have a 2003 f150 4.6l and I want to switch my cams to a stage 1 what do you recommend. Do I need to change the chains to or just cams will do it? Mine have 2 cams on each head
Is the engine the stock one that came in the f150?
Mine is stock engine and I’m wanting to put 268ah cams in
How off were the cams? I have a pair of xe268s i havnt put in yet.
Tony Fry I believe one was 4 degrees, and the other was 6 degrees. Off enough to have ruined my day and wallet if I didn’t get them degreed lol
@@RatchetstrapMedia sorry to bother I could use ur help i have a 4.6 motor and it has some comp cam 278 cams in it the motor is rebuilt and assembled and timed at the moment but they didn’t degree the cams i just dont want to have piston to valve clearance issues what do u recommend
@@RatchetstrapMedia If u can be any help or give me any suggestions or pointers id appreciate it. The engine is currently assembled and timed like factory dot 2 dot the engine is a 4.6 strocker I believe…. it has 21 cc probe forged pistons forged 8 bolt crank forged h beam pistons arp everything ported pi heads and comp cam 278 with valve springs
With 278s, I would definitely degree them. That’s a very high lift can. Take it back and tell them to do it correctly.
@@RatchetstrapMedia ars you sure brother i talk to another builder he said I should be fine what do you recommend
What do they torque on
I’m not sure what you mean
How did u fine TDC
With the tdc markings
Did you ever cam degree it?
Yes. I had modular head shop degree the cams.
I watched multiple videos how to degree these cams lastnight 🤯🤯🤯 think I'll just click the "degree cams" button and add to my basket while ordering.
It’s way easier that way lol
*reads installation instructions*
“What the fuck”
Hahahaha yes. I was very confused.
