    Alllllright goes! Here it is, the road test ride of the new CB1000R Neo Sports Café!
    video of the walkaround here : ua-cam.com/video/JwQHUTUtZd4/v-deo.html
    So far all the review videos have been track videos and official launch videos, this is a more regular video for us common mortals :D
    Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed riding the bike.
    This video was made using two audio sources, a In helmet audio source and an exhaust recording audio source, I will be releasing one video with just a bit clearer exhaust sound if you guys want it?
    If you can answer the poll, on whether you would like a HQ exhaust sound only video and I will make it happen.
    At 8:15 minutes you have the poll.
    p.s. The bike is not mine and Is currently at Honda Chiswick for viewing, If you want head over there and talk to Carlos, and he will help you out!

    ABOUT THE STEERING DAMPER, I spoke to Honda, this was their answer. "Hi, The new CB1000R does not have a steering damper on it, It has lots of other technology though so the need for one isn't there.
    Hope that helps" so thats that.

    The color light changes depending on what gear you're in. And at higher RPM's, the light will start to flash faster as the RPM increase to show decreased fuel economy.

    • @scottamolinari
      @scottamolinari 2 роки тому +3

      And, you can change that mode too. For instance, you can also make it a high rev warning light/ gear up-shift light. There are a couple other modes too.

    You are absolutely right! I'm an older gent (56) and I fell in love with the looks of the new CB generation. It's sexy, yet elegant and the 1000 is just cool, yet "semi-"aggressive. And this "theme" goes through the whole bike. You can cruise on it. And, you can do some nice sport riding too. It's a jack of a lot of trades and close to master of them all too.
    And no. There is no steering damper.
    The position of the key is good, but limits the types of tank bags you can use.
    I agree with the seat. It's pretty good, but a little on the hard side.
    Noticed at the end, you made a similar mistake most riders do. Looking for the kickstand knob behind the foot rest. I did the same. And, it is a point of contention for some people. I actually like the design of this, because it avoids me hitting my chin on the foot rest. I simply push my heel of my boot in front of my foot peg and push down. Easy peasy. :)
    And, nice review, but dude. Just driving through the city? That's like one of the trades the CB1000R isn't a master of (which you noted). Twisties dude!!!!! Get it out on the twisties! OMG it is magnificent there.

    I just brought this CB 1000R 2 days ago, and it’s fucking awesome on power, and it looks great all around, and in traffic it turns a lot of heads. What, I’m 41 years old, and it does not look Retro to me at all, it looks futuristic to me, I’m puzzled as to how everyone says retro, not to me at all.

    Great video, thanks for your comments. Tell me more about the riding position. I’m riding an ‘09 cbr1000rr and I’m good for 45-60 minutes then ready for a break. Love the bike but I need a new riding position. How far can you ride comfortably? Do your hands fall asleep? Does your back ache? Do you hunch over? I really should ride before buying.

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  5 років тому +1

      Hi Reed! As any other naked bike riding position will be NOTHING compared to a RR. I have both the Hornet (CB1000R smaller sister) and a CBR600RR (your bikes younger sister). I can tell you I rode 2700km in 3 days on the Hornet with just a butt pain. CBR, after a few miles the wrist starts to feel it and other parts too. This bike will be very confortable but be ready to get beat up by wind. There is no vibrations unless you get aftermarket handlebars without bar end weights. I dont hunch over but im a rather ''short'' rider.

    • @ciraloke
      @ciraloke 5 років тому +1

      Apparently it's a long cockpit, so good for long torsos (like me) or tall normal proportioned peeps. 830mm seat height is manageable - certainly lower then my 990 SMT.

    No steering damper on this bike and standard mode is full power [not 1/2 power] but with a softer throttle connection and more traction control.

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому

      Taking into account the information given by the dash, standard mode, reduces the power from 3 bars to 2 bars, meaning a power reduction I was guessing..

    +MrTemjin Hi! i want to buy this bike and saw many positive videos about it... but there where 2-3 video´s that sayd the quickshifter would do something like a "Shock" through the Maschine... is that true ? the same goes for the power between 4000 and 6000rp/m -- is this annoying ?
    what do u say about the cons for this maschine ? is it worth it anyway ?

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому +1

      Hi Kevin! I cannot talk about the quickshifter because I did not try it. But its quite normal for the quickshifter to give you a ''kick'' when changing gears. It wont do it at higher revs but it might do it at lower revs. Honestly lack of power between 4k and 6k RPM? Those 2k rpms will disapear before you notice any power loss. Only CON for me is not having a steering damper coming from factory, on such a powerful bike Honda should have done it.

    Did you end up finding out by physically looking at the cb1000r to see if it has a steering damper fitted? Also can you lower the seat?

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому

      DagoHeadturner Neither me or the dealer could see anything physically on the bike so im still unsure. You can lower suspension. But I must say im in the "short" range of guys and I reach the floor fine. The slimmer tank helps with that.

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому

      DagoHeadturner hey again! Just spoke to Honda this is what they told me "Hi, The new CB1000R does not have a steering damper on it, It has lots of other technology though so the need for one isn't there.
      Hope that helps" so thats that.

    • @TheVitara
      @TheVitara 6 років тому

      MrTemjin hi I’ll reply to both of your comments here. So no steering Damper can aftermarket ones be fitted and what technology dues it have to stop tank slapping.
      I’m 162cm so how can you lower the cb1000r is this a stock lowering kit or aftermarket? I’m looking at one for the future as I currently own a 2014 Honda CB650F so I’m curious if it’s taller and has more features or not

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому

      Hey! If you can ride a CB650f you will be able to ride this. YOu can always get an aftermarket steering damper, buy companies will need time to create a specific mount for this bike. No other tecnology will stop a tank slap. But your CB650f does not have a steering damper either and normally naked bikes dont get too affected by tank slaps (although it does happen).

    • @TheVitara

      Wiston Clair June he probably isnt used to that amount of brutal power and torque so he almost lost control IMO

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому +1

      Hey! Can't say the wobble was caused by me. I can say that through that whole second gear and third the front end was probably 2mm off the floor! When third gear went in the front end was basically floating over the road, so every time it touched the road created a bit of a wobble, but seems worse in the video than what it really is, I almost didnt feel it when it happened, but watching the video does look like it was a ''bad'' wobble :p

    • @MrTemjin
      @MrTemjin  6 років тому +1

      Im honestly not used to that brutal power, but losing control wasn't even near my thoughts at that moment, for me it was quite normal that kind of ''wobble'' as if I pull 1st and 2nd gear hard on the Hornet, it will do that same. Front end gets really light even with me leaning forward.

    The bike looks cheap. Too much plastic and at 212kg it's not exactly light weight. Even the engine is a detuned fireblade engine from yester year. Honda ain't really leading the way. They are taking old tech and trying to retro fit it into today's market. Shame really as they used to be cutting edge as I did own a cbr1000rr 09 which was a great bike.

    • @egg250
      @egg250 6 років тому +1

      Hi Colin,,
      Most motorcycle companies keep using old engines but with continuous improvement. And Honda clearly don't want to compete with the super naked crowd hence this engine suits this application.

      The 2009 CBR 1000 RR has a kerb weight of 205kg .
      I got the 2019 CB 1000 R plus model, the only silver colored plastic is the headlight rim, all the other silver is aluminium.
      I removed the pillion pegs and replaced the number plate hanger with an Evoteck tail tidy, these mods shaved 5.5kg from the weight, i have no desire to take pillions on it - it's not a pillion bike.
      Honda used the engine from the 06 blade as it has a longer stroke which gives more torque in the mid-range, it's short geared so acceleration is very impressive,
      it's faster from 0 - 100mph than the outgoing blade never mind the 2009 model.
      There is more to bikes than 0 - 200 mph faster than you can get the coffin lid screwed on, it's an impressive bike - and very comfortable - i love it.
      I
