Looks good . Ive got a tom tom go professional 6000 was really good but as soon as was 5 years old battery runs down all of a sudden and its started to try take me down roads 7.5 t weight limit 🤷♂️🙈 i paid 500 quid which i wont do again 🏁
Have been using the Ohrex sat nav for just over a year now. And so far so good it has as of yet sent me down any incorrect roads. And that includes most of Europe so I am more than happy. One bit of advice. If you require any advice at all on setting the Ohrex up. Call Customer Service they are brilliant. And really helpful in helping you set it up how you need it. Plus a great Price to boot. I did run it alongside my Garmin to start. And to be honest there was very little difference between them. And I did find the Ohrex better when using post codes. As the Garmin tends to pre-empt post codes before actually completing it fully.
The 1 I've got is an ohrex and I've had it for 3 years now and it does the job really well it just doesn't have the live traffic update, but other then that it's a good nav and definitely worth the money 👍
There is a PDF manual available online, look for ohrex n76 manual. it shows up as French but contains English as well. There are many features missing that are on my Garmin (cars only) that I find useful: ability to have several trips pre-planned (either normal or with way-markers), ability to block certain roads or areas (useful for blocking known trouble spots or certain stretches of motorways or town centres etc), built in traffic reports (both radio and via a phone app), speed cameras, built-in picture of motorway junctions, the ability to keep a list of addresses and names on my phone and transfer to the Garmin, built-in phone calls reception, ability to contact businesses, it even shows weather etc. It's more expensive but in the long run it's less frustrating. I did have a TomTom but it was a new model, had problems and I didn't like the interface so I bought a Garmin. I still receive map updates for the TomTom and that earlier Garmin. Will the Ohrex still update after 5 years?
My built in TomTom in the car went to sent me down a one way street on Teignmouth sea front last week. And it was a one way street the wrong way when Google Street view went down there 15 years ago. And I update the maps every time there an update available. Hope you enjoying your week off buddy
Greetings all. In the market for a replacement GPS for car use only. Looks like the one concern I have is that the lifetime free map update option seems to be difficult when reading the comments from Amazon and Ebay. I live in an area that is under a lot of construction and address and street info will be added often. My Garmin is from 2014 but says it will still update the maps. Just wanted to put this out there and see what others say. Q and A from Amazon says that the free map updates come from the included software...have not seen any CD or info about this issue...what say all?
A guy i worked with had a similar device to that it was a Binatone one complete junk he threw it out of the window one day because it never connected properly
Hopefully the lifetime free updates will acutely mean lifetime l bought one of the dearer tomtoms some years ago and it still works fine but their so called FREE updates lasted about 5 years and then they said l would have to pay for them
nice one Martyn, anything what helps make the job easier has to be good. hope your enjoying your week off👍

Garmin sell refurbished units, usually the previous version of what`s currently available if you must buy a more expensive one.
I had one of them before my tomtom go expert, and I trusted the ohrex routing more than the tomtom
