Good morning. I've got that sat nav. I've had it for over a year now and I can't believe how good it is I use it for the truck and the caravan. And I've never got stuck yet using it well Worth the money.... Steve
Morning Steve, hope you’re well. That’s very reassuring to hear. Thank you for sharing your own experience. Must admit, I’ve enjoyed using it so far. Great value. Enjoy your weekend. Helen & Dave 👍
Congratulations Hayley Miller, Hi D & H, I've identified my winter project, it's a method of connecting multiple aqua rolls together (I carry 3 aqua rolls), TC and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, many thanks for watching, always appreciated, Good to know you have winter caravanning plans too. Linking the aqua rolls up sounds interesting, saving numerous trips to the water point. Good luck. Helen & Dave
Wow lucky people who won Caravantastic merchandise, what a great prize. I'm very happy to find content about caravans... thanks for sharing such an interesting video.
Hi Dave and Helen. Very impressed with this sat nav including the price. I too have the Aguri at the moment, which I cannot fault but will certainly look at this as an alternative. Cheers Terry & Sue
Morning Terry, same, the Aguri has been ok for us but the price on this Ohrex Sat Nav makes it an appealing alternative. Thanks as always for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave. The sat nav looks a decent piece of kit may look into one of those. Congrats to the winner 😊. Looking forward to Thursday and your next adventure 😀. Paul and Joanne 👍
Hi Paul & Joanne, it’s a really good value Sat Nav and the more we use it the more impressed we are with it. Thanks as always, hope you’re both well. Helen & Dave 👍👍
First class video again and very informative. Looks like a great product at an amazing price. Definitely be getting one. One thing though--when you put your info in you put 5yds wide (15ft)and 3yds (9ft) high you might need to check that .
Hi Dave, thanks very much, I deffo got that wrong and we’ll spotted. I’ve since converted in the settings to metric. It’s actually very easy to do once you’ve navigated your way around. The Ohrex website and social media pages also have some very good how to videos. Quick and easy. Thanks again. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and firstly no I’m not stalking you! I was looking for a SATNAV and almost went for the caravan & motorhome club reccomended one. The astute Mrs J suggested that with a wide van (8ft) we needed one we could trust (there was an incident with a 7ft 6 wide road 😢 Not asking you comment on the one you’ve reviewed but two questions on yours if I may. How wide is it (5 or 7 inch) and have you noticed a junction lag from your unit (between where you are and the nav says you are) Cheers Dave
Hi Derek, no problem at all. If you mean the Aguri Sat Nav (the one we paid a fortune for 5 years ago) that’s 7inch and no problems with lagging (all Sat nav’s are just a little behind generally). The OHREX which I reviewed is also 7inch and I haven’t had any issues with that either. I think the OHREX is really good value and if anything is easier to operate. They all just take a little getting used to. Stay safe and thanks for your message. Dave
Congratulations Hayley. That's the Mrs resorting to her usual plastic bag going shopping again ;). Nice review Dave, I'm a bit unsure whether to order one as it gets scathing reviews on Amazon but better reviews elsewhere. I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for. Keep up the good work....
Congratulations Hayley 🎉 Hi Dave & Helen, we have the same sat nav as you but I actually think the one you reviewed is better, it seems clearer and the price is amazing! If we need a new one we would definitely look at one of those. Vicki & Gary Edwards
Hi David, thanks for watching. There’s no subscription pay and although I haven’t had to update the unit yet it seems that you can download latest maps from their website. It’s been a good unit so far.
That looks a fantastic value for money Satnav Dave... I just wondered if you can save details for the car then details for the car+caravan to be able to toggle easily between the two... either way I'm looking for a satnav and I think I'll be giving this a go... I love it's user friendliness... thanks for the demonstration Dave... Dave and Jane 👍
Hi Dave, great question, I should have covered this but the good news is YES you can and it's really easy to do. Thanks for watching. ATB, Dave & Helen.
Hi Dave, Looks a good piece of kit 👍. Do you use your built in nav and apart from not being able to enter your dimensions, how would you compare it to the two mobile ones ? Cheers Rob
Hi Rob, I do use the internal Sat Nav but to be honest, I need to update it. Although I never use it when towing, it has gotten me in trouble a few times. I have been using the OHREX unit now for about 3 weeks and so far I've found it to be very good and great value. I am going to have to update the built in model though. Cheers, Dave
That's an amazing bit of kit Dave, I saw a video from The Reds Going Travelling or something like that as soon as I get back from getting car sorted with an A frame I will be ordering one. Thanks for a great review and a good look at the screen and its guidance capabilities. Rgds Gary.
Hmm, this sounds like an almost too good to be true price. I was just about to pull the trigger on a Tom Tom, but think I may have just reverted to procrastination mode......... Best regards G & C
Hi Gordon, thanks for watching. Must say, I’ve been using it for over a week on every journey I’ve made and can’t fault it. Good price! Cheers, Helen & Dave 👍
Saw this and very impressed. Do you have any updates on your further experience with this unit. It would be interesting to hear if it fulfilled all its promise in real life. Our manufacturer fit (Kia) unit has proved unreliable for towing as it only follows the most direct route and is prone to take us down some unsuitable roads which can be quite frightening sometimes.
Hi Michael, thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I know that frightening feeling well, we made the mistake of using our Kia Sat nav too until we were sent down narrow roads. This Sat Nav has been great. Just make sure you input your caravan & car combined length, width, height and the Sat Nav does the rest. Been using regularly since this video without any issues. Good price too, we paid almost £300 for the Aguiri but wish we had found this first. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen , just wondering why the sat nav didn't warn you after putting in 5m width or had you corrected it. Keep up the good work guys, love your vlogs
Hi Steve, I can't remember for certain but I think I did correct it otherwise it would have tried to stop me going down roads. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
My Sat Nav displays the maximum speed of each roads and, when set for towing, it shows the 'trailer adjusted' speed instead ie 50mph for single carriage way / 60mph dual carriage way / 60mph motorway. Did the demo sat nav also do this?
Hi Steve, that’s a great question and something I haven’t checked because I have not driven down any dual carriage ways or motorways with it yet and I can’t see any mention of the change in the instruction book. My old Aguri adjusts like yours does. I’ll check back 👍 Cheers Helen & Dave 👍
I liked your recent sat nav demo but as far as i know the police will fine you for mounting it in the middle of the windscreen as this obstructs your vision that was a policeman that told me that it must be mounted on the right hand side at the bottom
Hi Cameron, I’m not aware that there is a specific law on where to mount a Sat nav but what is important is ensuring your line of sight is not impeded which mine wasn’t. You might find this interesting as it suggests that where I had it mounted was indeed in about the best/safest place. www.1stcallwindscreensltd.co.uk/news/where-to-place-your-sat-nav-in-your-car/#:~:text=Is%20it%20legal%20to%20put,a%20sat%20nav%20while%20driving.
