It does, a bit. It wonders if the audio recognition algorithm is loose enough to encompass this version as similar enough to the original to be striked. It has to be a bit loose, anyway, because every video comes with different bitrates, renders, and audio superpositions.
Higor Carmanini no, it doesn’t make sense, because the word “Copy”, exists which means that he has to copy the song completely rather then just singing it.
That's just obvious, Juan. The discussion is rather about the algorithm that answers if something is or not a copy of something else, because the recognition/comparison is not done by some Google employee's ear.
I wish my UA-cam music would add this into my playlists because honestly this is easily in the Top 3 covers of Africa ever. Those haunting vocals chill my spine every time.
I love the original, but after many listens I'm way too spoiled on your version. I'm not even sure I can go back to the original. You are amazing man. I can't stop listening and I love seeing the surprised look on everyone's face when I'm listening to it, nobody around me notices the difference, and I finally let them know that this isn't the original artist.
Really an impressive cover. I was very surprised. I absolutely loved your articulation and voice control. You nailed the harmony and somehow made them sound better than the original. Absolutely incredible.
Great job. It really amazes me how many talented people who are out there. Everything from playing all the instruments, singing, video editing and of course recording just blows me away.
Dude what the hell are you thinking? There is no comparison to Toto and singing Africa and Bobby Kimball's voice that makes this tune so great..It's a good cover but that's it a cover.
I've never commented on this, but I first liked this video when it was new and I've been coming back constantly for the last 3 y+ years to watch this. I just really really enjoy this video, the singing, the song choice, the editing. Good stuff, man.
Pretty nice there. I was getting a little bit of a David Bowie vibe in the voice during bits of that. Haven't seen anything else you've done, but I would say try Life On Mars or something.
I have to say this. I love Africa By ToTo, even though they did write the song, and I sure that they would agree that Impersanation is flattering, I would hope that they are not TOO green after seeing this. THIS BY FAR THE BEST MOST AMAZING RECORDING IF THE OLD TIME FAVE. Good sir, you BUY FAR do it better than they did when they wrote it. ( Standing Ovasion), of how ever the hell you spell it. Not just well done, but you have effectively made the song, now, in it entirity, PERFEECT!. I dont think even ToTo themselves would have say the same about any song they have ever wrote. Thank you for doing this.
3:19 just blows me away every time. Everything about it - the piano, the guitar, the vocal harmonies - is just perfect. I can't stop listening to this. Well done.
This is brilliant. You've put a lot of work to do this. How do you master vocal tracks so they get this depth? I always struggle with this myself, when I record vocals I lay some delay on the track, but it tends to sound robotic.
Thank you! I recorded double vocal tracks for this one, meaning I sang each track two times on top of each other which gives an effect similar to the chorus effect. The "depth" also depends on what kind of microphone you're using, what kind of voice you have and what kind of EQ/compression you use. :)
you are crazy talented!! Definitely one of the best covers of this song, I've heard large choirs and full on live band renditions of this song that didn't move me half as much as this performance.. Seriously, well done!!
This is fantastic! I've also had it open for a week in a tab and don't see it going away anytime soon. In all the covers I've heard though It makes me wonder if I'm insane for pronouncing Kilimanjaro a little differently. Anyway, this is awesome and your young James Spader thing is also something I notice! Maybe not young James Spader more than Red Reddington aged backwards :) Being compared to a star is not a diss :)
No, I think you pronounce it exactly as Toto does. This is even more interesting given that you don't speak English; you're super talented and I wish nothing but the best for you!
Subtle globe in the background displaying Africa. Love it.
Toefil I can't tell if it was a coincidence or not. I really hope it isn't.
Toefil I agree. Nice touch. FWIW I rarely make it to the end of any cover video but easily did on this one. Very nice!!
Toefil the earth is flat though. God says so. God bless.
Jesus Saves You're joking right?
Where does God say that?
I wonder if your video got copyrighted, because its so accurate to the original.
PeopleCanFly23 That statement makes no sense at all.
It does, a bit. It wonders if the audio recognition algorithm is loose enough to encompass this version as similar enough to the original to be striked. It has to be a bit loose, anyway, because every video comes with different bitrates, renders, and audio superpositions.
No he's different enough. It may have been flagged for review by a person though...he's good.
Higor Carmanini no, it doesn’t make sense, because the word “Copy”, exists which means that he has to copy the song completely rather then just singing it.
That's just obvious, Juan. The discussion is rather about the algorithm that answers if something is or not a copy of something else, because the recognition/comparison is not done by some Google employee's ear.
no mistakes, you nailed every single detail, perfect cover
Y'know, I think this is the best cover of this on youtube.
Devon Rumrill Very agreed, and not just because your profile pic is M.C. Escher. ;p
Check the cover Mike Masse did..thats something out of this world.

I've had this video open in a tab all week. Been listening to it at least once a day. Well done!
Thank you!

Damn, you're seriously talented. Wonderful voice by the way :)

Best cover I've heard to date of any song ever. You deserve way more views.
those harmonies in the chorus are sublime
Absolutely wonderful.
You play well but so does many. Your amazing vocals are the reason why I've watched this video so many times. 10/10

Irettlawaltteri I could listen to you sing all day. record audio books too, thanks.
I wish my UA-cam music would add this into my playlists because honestly this is easily in the Top 3 covers of Africa ever. Those haunting vocals chill my spine every time.
A real musician in 2017??!?! What!
Really nice, man.
This man is absolutely a true musician. Not many of them out there. Glad to see one.
Greatest song to come out of the 80s, and you did it proper justice. Keep it up, boss.
I've listened to this so many times and I still get chills when you harmonize with your own voice. Absolutely nailed it.
I've come back a few times now to listen to this. Seriously awesome job dude! Keep it up!
WOW! So much talent!
The singing is the best!!!!
Beautiful composition, a magnificent interpretation. An excellent musical work that you pleasantly share with all of us. Best regards, Eliab

Been looking for this for the past 30 minutes. Man, I love this kid's music.
Amazing job mate ! Very musical, beautiful cover !
Those harmonies! Incredibly well done, I'd love to see more from you like this.
As a connoisseur of Toto music and toto covers, this is impressive
Hats off and standing ovation! I've listened to this 6 times today and shared it with everyone I know.
Do Take on Me from A-HA
Yeah would be great. Or St elmo's fire by John Parr.
@@markusmittwoch857 St Elmo's Fire has been stuck in my head Forever! Awesome song
Only very few people give me instant goosebumps with their singing... you're one of those. Keep on covering!
Aaron Ramirez Hahaha, thank you!
How has it taken me seven years to find this? Such an amazing cover!
Well done! Hit those highs so eloquently! LOVED IT!
Holy cow! Amazing attention to detail and precision! Very impressive!
Really an impressive cover. I was very surprised. I absolutely loved your articulation and voice control. You nailed the harmony and somehow made them sound better than the original. Absolutely incredible.
Better then original I don't think so and without Bobby Kimball's voice doesn't even come close and yes I know it's a cover...
Best cover of África. Amazing.
Holy shit. That's a musician. Love to hear some originals.
Great job. It really amazes me how many talented people who are out there. Everything from playing all the instruments, singing, video editing and of course recording just blows me away.
FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!
This gave me chills. I CAN"T STOP LISTENING TO THIS COVER
Im 40 seconds in, and this is already the best cover ive ever seen on youtube
This will go down in history as the greatest cover of all time. Very well done on all ends.
Thank you!
I rarely like covers. This may as well be the original studio version of the song and I wouldn't be able to tell.
Wow...just came across this... one of the best covers of this great song I've heard yet. Excellent job!!
You are quite amazing, keep up your wonderful work. You have a rare talent!
Wow! The amount of talent you and your brothers have is incredible! Well done!
Great stuff, that was on point!
26 year music producer here. You nailed those vocals. Well done.
That's copy-perfect man, amazing work. I'll never not upboat Africa.
Thanks!
Dude what the hell are you thinking? There is no comparison to Toto and singing Africa and Bobby Kimball's voice that makes this tune so great..It's a good cover but that's it a cover.
Greatest cover that will ever be made. This dude a legend for this one.
Great job man. I wish I could be able to do anything close to this. Also your egg technique is spot on.
Very lovely workshop! Playing, singing, absolutely fantastic !
I just stumbled onto this and it made my night. great cover and talent
Thank you!
Nice job young James Spader
Oml, thanks for helping me notice 😂
Hahaha in Stargate era
He was probably munching on some military rations before making this...
Excellent work all round, especially the harmonies. Absolutely cracking !!!
Thank you!
I have played this video 36 times so far...
Absolute magic! Well done, including the globe deliberately positioned and in view for the camera.
Mr Plinkett sure can sing
One of the few covers that actually gets the kalimba notes right. Awesome.
I'm binge watching all covers of this song & yours is literally THE closest I've heard thus far and it's SOLO! Vocals are accurate & lovely great job!
Thank you!
How the hell doesn´t this have more views?!? It´s amazing
great cover 😃
I listened this several times non stop...mesmerizing WOW
Thank you!
Irettlawaltteri, your video is UA-cam at its finest! We should collaborate sometime.
I've never commented on this, but I first liked this video when it was new and I've been coming back constantly for the last 3 y+ years to watch this. I just really really enjoy this video, the singing, the song choice, the editing. Good stuff, man.
Spectacular effort, really captured the feel of this classic. Great work, dude!
The harmony is gorgeous... Gosh I love it~
i don't normally follow musicians but i like what you got
I was having a bad morning, then I watched this and everything is good with the world.
Pretty nice there. I was getting a little bit of a David Bowie vibe in the voice during bits of that. Haven't seen anything else you've done, but I would say try Life On Mars or something.
Paranitis I was thinking 'Shiny' from Moana
Paranitis i totally agree, there's definitely something of David Bowie in that voice!
The soundtrack is beautifully synched and edited. Excellent work. Africa is a classic
damn son. talk about throwing it down.
The moving lower harmony line in the chorus is a must in this song, and you really nailed it! Great job on the entire song!
I have to say this. You did this with many of the harmony voices as well, didn't you? Natural chorus sounds way better than digital. Well done.
you are crazy talented!! Definitely one of the best covers of this song, I've heard large choirs and full on live band renditions of this song that didn't move me half as much as this performance.. Seriously, well done!!
it's so amazing. i think it better than original song!! especially your voice is good match for the song.
Wow how absolutely incredible. The guy is a genius.
Please make more covers! You're a hit on Reddit! Subscribed!
Playing, Singing, Mixing, Production. You did a top job on all departments, well done!
I legit like your voice better than the original. 10/10 added to road-trip playlist!
Haha, thanks!
No kidding. After watching this I downloaded the original on my phone for old time's sake, but instantly found I prefer this version.
A Bc Thanks! But I could never achieve the perfection of the original. ;)
@@ValtteriNieminen you perfected the original.
Oh my god, how much talant can a single Person have ?! 😍😍
Thats so increadeably amazeing!!! 😍
Why did you stop making videos, come back :(
Those harmonies gave me some serious goosebumps omg
Toto by Africa is my favourite song.
