Thank you for doing what is best for your horse and doing it on grass most people do it on roads or hard ground so it made me happy to see that, Any you were very gentle on his mouth. Unlike other people in racking you seem to care about your horse. Thank you.

WTF🤬 hes using the most painful shank bit ever invented thats the longest one you can buy & this poor horse's head is super inverted causing the appearance of u-neck which means kissing spine is happening which is super painful & causing life long issues. Than you'll say well than why would he be doing it because everyone dose it that way that doesn't mean its right its super painful which makes it super abusive.

In the 1950's Central Texas we were poor farm/ranch families: The Mack brothers lived down the sandy road from us. They were young blacks. The Macks won't ride a horse that wasn't high headed, high stepping and couldn't rack and pace. My dad's family would have jerked a knot in our tails if us boys made our quarter horse cow ponies go in any gait other than a walk, trot, or lope and ALWAYS on a loose rein. But on Sundays, after the watermelon picking and chores were over, we'd ride over to the Mack's house and ride west down that sandy road - just boys who loved to ride horses. We would trade horses and the Mack's taught me how to handle their big chestnut stallion in a fast rack. I can remember his winging front feet throwing sand as high as my head. I remember his hooves worn flat across the front from all his flailing in the dry sand. We would teach the Macks how to rig a saddle for calf roping and how to build a loop and jerk your slack. How to make a horse stop and work a rope from the ground. 50 years later I ran into a Mack relative down in New Orleans. I miss those carefree Sunday rides with the Macks.

@@ninjachicken4663 Tennessee Walkers are used in the Big Lick, yes, but this gait is not synonymous with Big Lick. For the Lick, they take what is naturally there and exaggerate it. This breed (along with Amer. Saddlebreds, Missouri Fox Trotters, Standardbreds, Rocky Mountains, Spotted Saddle, Kentucky Mountain, and Florida Crackers) are all born with this gait. ALL of them have it hardwired from birth. Hackneys are the same. Look up The Natural Trot of a Hackney Pony on YT. The foal was dropped that day, and hadn't been handled AT ALL. His head is up, his knees are snappy, and he is happy and proud. These breeds are BUILT to do this. Their shoulder angle allows their head to be that high, and they will carry it there themselves from the time they take their first steps. Arabians are the same way.
