@@brianhardaway9716 thank you for your reply but I disagree. I've been around horses for many years and this behavior and gait is not normal... it's induced by the riders.

Apparently if you comment on the fact that the majority of these horses were stargazing and traveling hollow backed, with their jaws set hard or their mouths open trying to evade their bits, you are a racist. Probably if you point out the obvious problems with some riders also being far too heavy for their horses, you are not only a racist, you are prejudiced against fat people as well. I'm not going to place all the blame on the riders, many of these riders seemed to be trying to interfere as little as possible with their mounts. Unfortunately, like many gaited horses, these horses have been taught to travel hollow and strung out, and in all likelihood, primarily in straight lines. Gaited horses actually travel far better if taught to soften vertically and laterally, and get their hind ends under themselves and their backs rounding. Additionally, getting broke in the body by learning to bend, will also strengthen the gait. Then they are able to gait unfettered on the trail, no bits needed at all ultimately, and their muscles develop properly, so the incidence of lameness and soreness is reduced. One only needs of to look at the lack of correct muscle development in these poor creatures to guess that their careers will not be too long. The weak top lines, weak hindquarters, and the over developed undersides of their necks predict a life of pain for them. Pain that is often mistaken for behavioral problems. And people of all races are ofyen ignorant with horses. I see plenty of gaited horses trained incorrectly by plenty of white people. Not too long ago I heard one tell her farrier that gaited horses had to wear a special gaited horse bit to gait 🙄 And as usual, it is the horse that suffers.
@UCr0vXWUnZx26Jg1THDwyOFQ Racist? Shut the up. When heavy people tide horses it DAMAGES THEIR BACKS. You must have never been around a horses before. And that's not how you even bend a horse, that's how you damage their back which is straight up neglectful and abusive.

@@Sarah-wo6hv What's wrong with me blowing an air horn? Check yourself lol bro! Trains pass pasture animals and don't spook them, so why should a little 18 wheeler air horn spook them. Then too, the Interstate wasn't exactly right next to them. I pretty sure that the animals were not on their maiden ride. Now, I can't tell you anything about the animals bleeding or how bad they were treated, but I don't think it was intentional. I have partaken in quite a few trail rides in 65 years. Thx

Why do you choose this gait for riding? Isn't hard on them physically? I've haven't seen this before...I feel sorry for those poor horses. This makes them too high strung for which they're probably punished. The owners/riders need horsemanship lessons. This is not relaxing at ALL. Wish I hadn't seen this video.
If Your not knowledgeably is 0 then You should first learn about the Breed before making Uneducated comments. Like the Island Horse/ Pony these Tennessee Walkers have a Special gait. It’s Their Natural gait. Google is there for Us to learn what We don’t know.
@@brianhardaway9716 thank you for your reply but I disagree. I've been around horses for many years and this behavior and gait is not normal... it's induced by the riders.
The gait is something that these horses do naturally. Look up baby Tennesse walkers, Icelandics, paso finos, spotted saddle horses. They all just do that. I ride a spotted saddle horse sometimes, and I dont really know anything about riding/ training gaited horses and she just does her thing.
@@rebeccadees2300 Look up tennessee walkers, there is a natural gait they have, this is not it though. 99% of this is pacing, which is bad for them. I own a walker myself that paces and I am trying to teach him to gait correctly.
@@rebeccadees2300 my Saddle bred mare was bred to a Tn Walker and the foal used this gait for several steps as we were putting her in her stall...it's a natural run/ gait and the others are racking...it's a single foot gait..many are standard breeds that couldn't make it at the track so they are used under saddle
This is freaking awesome..... I want to ride with this group!

You are 100%right on with everyone should do this atleast once but as we know. With this much fun? Once is never enough. Great video.
Do you have to do riding lessons before doing it?
@@Q1Rong I highly recommend so. Always wear a helmet and approperiate riding clothes!
Btw, this whole video is just rampant animal abuse, so you can use this as what to look out for in red flags.
The people have no fucking idea of how to even sit right and I don't even have to ride western to see that and then go on to defend themselves and gloat on them abusing the horses.
Look up videos of english and western riding. I'd recommend looking at someone like This Esme for english style and RaleighLink14 for more of a western standing. Unfortunately UA-cam has a fuckton of abusive western riders.
Read a story about a Doc who lived back around the turn of the last century. He had a big black wakin' horse. He went over the mountain to Franklin, NC and delivered a baby... 36 mileseach way. A blizzard was blowing in, but he headed home anyway. The big black racked up the mountain and down again in a blowing blizzard... 36 miles. His sons poured water on his legs and boots. He was frozen in the saddle. The big black was fine...

What exactly is this gait called?

I feel so bad for these animals. Who taught these people how to ride? They should be fired.
I have never seen horses look so uncomfortable while running like they are here
Apparently if you comment on the fact that the majority of these horses were stargazing and traveling hollow backed, with their jaws set hard or their mouths open trying to evade their bits, you are a racist.
Say your racist without saying your racist

Why do most of them look inexperienced and pulling to dang hard on the rains.

@@cadeecoble6785 OK Karen. One that's not the point of my comment nor is there any judgement on their horses or the care quality. If you've been around horses at all, you would know that a skinny, muscle toned horse is healthier than a fat nag left to pasture to get colic, founder and various other health related issues. Also, I am not intimately familiar with these people because I do not ride with them. I expressed my love and affection for the fact that they are very obviously having a blast and because of snobs like you with your judgemental attitude, riding with others is no longer enjoyable.
