As a non-gamer I saw it that she already got the map as a child. Then years later she got herself hired on as ship's crew, using them to get close to the treasure, then buying the ship once she was rich. Your view makes more sense game-wise.
This song Chance wrote is perfect for the video game of the same name. Ubisoft contacted them after they heard their Sea Shanty Medley. Yes, She found the treasure and now she is the captain.
I think this shows her progression from starting with an obsession to go to sea, to getting on a ship's crew, learning the ropes, finding a treasure and buying her own ship and crewing it so she becomes captain.
Great reaction! This is an original written by Chance. Ubisoft heard their Sea Shanty Melody and loved it so they approached Home Free with an amazing opportunity to write a shanty for Skull And Bones video game.Chance loves sea shanties and everything to do with the sea and loves gaming so Chance being the seafaring member jumped at the opportunity . Tim and Chance singing bass together.Chance playing guitar Austin was playing mandolin and Adam with his amazing beatboxing They released a Lyric video and sang a shorter version live at Ubisoft Live Premiere for the game The scenes are telling the story of the game how the character went from out cast to king pin ( captain) of the ship
Chance wrote a banger! Ubisoft heard their Sea Shanty Medley during Covid and approached Home Free to write a shanty for their new game Skull and Bones and this is it. Yes, she found the treasure and could become Captain. Ubisoft put more music in this. Chance played guitar but there was a mandolin and maybe tambourine? Anyway, I love it. One of my favorite new songs by them.
I like to think she was always the Captain and she was hiring the crew but knew men would not work for a female so she was incognito at first! That's the way I imagine it.
Chance always loved sea shanties so when Ubisoft called Home Free for a song for their new game, of course they tossed it to him. This isn't a music video - it's a mini-movie with music. And something different these days - an actual story! She has the map, finds the treasure and becomes Captain of the pirate ship (you go girl!).
Wasn't that great! We've been waiting for this official video by Home Free for awhile now. It felt like watching a movie. Home free is so talented & they can do any genre of music. Chance loves sea shanties & he wrote this song for the game "Skull & Bones". His deeper voice sounded great for this song. And of course all the background harmonies of the guys including Adam's fabulous vocal percussion.

The girl in the video represents a gamer playing the game, advancing from beginner to Captain of her own ship.
Ahhh that makes more sense

The song starts with double bass, Tim and Chance. Adam Rupp is doing the droning.
I think she aleays had the map and she hoined the crew as a way to find the treasure and now is captain
