Love this great classic song from Ben E. King back in 1961. The Home Free guys did an awesome version as always. Great vocal leads by Austin & Rob. Tim's bass really stands out for me in this one. And Adam's tasteful vocal percussion is on point.

A great song done by Ben E. King, and now done incredibly by Home Free. Both are amazing! Shaun is a goat.
These boys are the absolute FINEST at their craft.
We danced a slow bop to this in the college student union in 1961. Home Free has made a nice memory all good again! This may be one of the best covers yet, harmonies so full, voices so beautiful. Who needs instruments?
One of the songs I have been listening to for as long as I can remember. (I'm from 1963) First the LP, later I always had it on one of my cassette tapes, then I got the CD and in recent years I usually have it on one of my playlists. Although many versions had been released in the meantime, it was usually the version by Ben E. King or Otis Redding. But from now on it is the version of Home Free that is on my playlist and no other. Alternating the lead between Austin's powerful voice and Rob's silky soulful voice just sounds so beautiful and fantastic. Then the unparalleled vocal percussion, truly phenomenal. The great bass and beautiful harmony are the finishing touch.
You know Austin was probably starstruck singing with Shawn.

The original was sung by Ben E. King in 1961 and covered by a plethora of artists since. A really great song and Home Free did an amazing job singing it! Of course the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are terrific - they always are. HF proves time & again that you don't need theatrics when you've got gorgeous voices. The performance with the judges was during the next season (5) when they brought HF back (Ben Folds was replaced by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy). Thanks for showing a bit of that! It was so good. Love the little improvements they have made to all of their Sing-Off songs. Gorgeous.

I had gone back and found the finale performance from season 5 to watch their performance of Stand By Me. It seems to be the same arrangement, but with their own flavor mixed in! Patrick Stumpf replaced Ben Folds for the one episode Season 5. I did catch that amazing riff by Shawn at the end! He’s still got it! I had forgotten how great his voice is! Anyway, love Home Free’s cover! It’s a phenomenal cover! Loved your reaction! Those bell tones in there were magnificent! I didn’t have my headphones the first couple of times I listened to it. So many great things in this! Love how they ended it with that bit of Doo Wop.

Ben Folds, the third judge on the Sing Off, didn't take part. Instead they got someone called Patrick Stumpf (man in a hat), who I don't think had anything to do with the show.
I don't know what they've been feeding Austin and Rob but they sound phenomenal in these resurrected songs. This is now my favourite version of this song.
