He created most of the material for his first 3 albums in less than a year after being kicked out of metallica after basically establishing metallica's early sound and the sound of thrash metal in general. anybody can become good at playing guitar with enough practice and dedication but this level of creativity most people dont have because most people are not interesting or original.

I'm in my mid 50's now, but as a 19 year old I saw Megadeth at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, Massachusetts. WARLOCK opened for them, and SANCTUARY opened for WARLOCK. My ears rang for a week and my neck was sore for a month....but it was SO effing worth it.
I was in 5th grade, and I remember looking down the alley at the Orpheum, and in big letters it said MEGADETH TONIGHT..... I was instantly intrigued and bought so far so good so what. Never looked back
Chuck Behler was such an underrated drummer. To start as Gars drum tech, then to get thrown into a studio after minimal time to learn drum arrangements to the new material was a Herculean effort. I would like to haved heard him on Rust in Peace. A great player, in my opinion.

We had METAL and we had HARD ROCK, and it was played with a fervor on the air waves of the American radio landscape. It was glorious. This was even back when Metallica still earned a paycheck with effort (imagine that?). Some of the best fucking times of my life - which is why it may not be such a bad deal for you. What I mean is : it was such a great time to be alive, that the after thought , the mere fact that I am early 40's and life completely sucks compared to those days makes the longing for them even more painful. The 2K's are shit. The whole "digital age" is a ruse. Sure, the internet is pretty cool, I guess - I mean we didn't have immediate access to cool shit like this Megadeth video, on demand, when we wanted it - you had to sit for hours in front of the fucking TV and wait for MTV to get amnesia and play something rocking (which was practically NEVER - in the post 1984 MTV era.) . If guys had a disagreement, it was taken care of with your fists - not some demented , pussy way out such as resorting to using a gun : practically UNHEARD OF in the 80's , it never happened. Ah well,.......like I said before: at least I can access it all here on UA-cam, and remember the good times.......
right...underground metal has always been better. Take a look at Devastation in 1993. Right now there are many other local bands that are putting out great stuff. Even when metal reigned supreme the less well known bands tended to make better music.

Good bands are always the exception. The trick is good stuff I remembered, while what's popular at the time dies as time passes by. Megadeth's music is timeless, that's the secret

Jeff Young was great. He lacked some of the feel that Poland had- but technically Young was excellent. Same with Behler.
I remember coming home throwing this on the stereo and just being blown away by how ferocious this whole album was and is.
