The first song that he wrote on the busride home from the Metallica firing, the first Megadeth song ever, the song itself was actually called Megadeth until someone told him it was a better name for the band 🤘

@@deletedhero5579 well I'd imagine the lyrics probably came first yes, but I'd guess he had an idea of how the sound would be pretty quickly as they were opening shows with the original version of the song in 1984

@@WelshBladerDad Oh were they? That's pretty cool I wonder why it took so long to get it on record? It's my favourite of theirs

@@deletedhero5579 same here, absolutely love it 🤘! yes I've always wondered why it was held back until the 3rd record, but then again Dave had also apparently written the basis of Rust in Peace..Polaris and Hangar 18 before he even got to Metallica, so maybe he just had too much material 😄🤷‍♂️.
There's a video on UA-cam from their Berkeley 1984 gig which I'm pretty sure had Kerry King on guitar at that point, and that opens with Set the world afire, sound quality isn't great and it's faster than the SFSGSW version, but still awesome to hear it opening the show!

The final track on this album is Hook in Mouth. It's one of their best in my opinion, and has a great message that is still relevant.

Yea, man, Hook in Mouth is mean - Mustaine being pissed off at his best. To me the song has punk influence.

Your comment at 5:00 had me thinking. I don't listen to the remasters of these albums, but I did go listen to the 2004 remaster of this song and they did in fact add the solos to the center of the mix as you had suggested it be. So, it's something that you had caught that they did in fact change.
That being said I still prefer the original - feels less clean and the way I remember it 🤘😎

This is one of the best thrash metal songs ever - it blew people away in 1988 ,,,, its a 10/10 not 8/10 ..... its an iconic song. Esp for the lyrics which were very relevant at the time.

Love this album. It doesn't get as much praise as others but its still in my top 5 of Megadeths library. Also a shorter track by NeObliviscaris : Intra Venus.

I like this album but I feel Young's and Mustaine's guitar styles were a bit too closely matched. Maybe that is one reason this album does not get the love it deserved. Rust in Peace being released two and half years later, one of the top Thrash albums released ever didn't help either.

To me this is the most important Megadeth song. Not only because it was the very first one written after the Metallica departure, but also because the original name suppose to be Mega Death and the tune represents everything the band has of special; fury, melody and prophetic apocalypitc lyrics

It was even older, written in 1983. I actually have seem a recording from 1984 in which Megadeth play Set the world afire live, 4 years before an official release 😮😮😮😮😮

Right Right, supposedly the first song he wrote after being kicked out of 'tallica. Megadeth was in the lyrics and eventually became the band name.
is that 1984 recording online somewhere?? Or was that some VHS tape 😁

Great song off this album. I agree the reverb was a bit heavy, but it was the 80's... so what. 'Set The World Afire' is on my main Megadeth playlist, along with several other songs off this album. I tried to count the number of riffs Dave threw together here. Four in the intro and more than eight in the song, including variations on pervious riffs. That's more than some bands have in half an album. This is classic Megadeth. This is what most Megadeth albums have been missing since RiP. The new album is good, better than anything in the last twenty years. Could it have been better?

    • @kronok5591
      @kronok5591 Рік тому

Indeed, it was the 80's. Pretty badass at the time and still remains so for a lot of us. I thought Dystopia was a good effort, considering, but the new record does have some pretty cool tracks. When I heard the first 3 singles I was like "meh" but some of the other tracks did turn out to be pretty good. Soldier On! sounds better when played on a stereo so I dig it.

I know you don't like megadeth that much.
But i hope one day you react to Hangar 18 if you want a complex song.
Or listen Last rites/loved to death for a more Megadeth song.
You also can listen for inspiration or ideas for your music c:

Amazing reaction my friend!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just it was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coachs, singers, musicians, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you...You have to be prepared because your channel will explode with an avalanche of views, comments and new subscribers....I leave you one more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html
