I don't often comment on videos, but thank you very much for this! It's something I didn't know I needed, but very much do! I have grown very tired of cross-referencing the dual box OS maps available online, which tend to be buggy/laggy for me, despite having a decent workstation. It was actually my Mom who has recently been coming digging with me and actually raised my attention to this video as it was beyond her technical capabilities, but honestly, this is very much like the old style of videos I remember watching as a teen, straight to the point and easy to follow. Thank you again, sir! I actually managed to find the known Roman fort in my area, amazing to see the map come to life when you start tweaking with all the layers!
Thank you for making this video, wish it had been the first I watched as it is really easy to understand, introduces useful processes, and being up to date means that qgis the software still work in the same manner that you demonstrate it.
Hey, welcome back! - Great to see this, and gonna watch it later, (when my brain wakes up). Have loved/benefited from your previous videos, so Definitely sounds like one for maximum concentration... Thanks a lot in advance! Bobby 🐭

Great presentation. First time messing with LIDAR, any idea what DERFA type resource works for the US? Appreciate taking the time to present this information.
Thanks very much. Sorry it was a bit rushed. I know pockets of the US have lidar data available, but in varying quality. Have a look at the link in the description for other lidar sources 🙂

It's a recap with latest software and a run through at speed of all of the basics videos I've done hence it being a 40 minute beast. Sorry about that!

In US try searching for “national map viewer”.
Great video. Does the defra website contain data for Scotland also or is it just for England?
I'm not sure if they're in the environment viewer downloader, but they definitely have lidar datasets for download.
The LiDAR Composite doesn’t appear to be available for Scotland.

Great stuff, although i'm having issues with maptiler api, very flaky, some maps don't load at all, others load but tiles disappear randomly.
That's odd, I don't tend to suffer

Do you know how i can find lidar data for countries outside the UK? Maybe even in africa or asia if possible.
If you have a look in the description, there's a link (not maintained by me) to potential sources of lidar from around the world 🙂
