    13:09 - may I ask, for "our grandchildren", shouldn't it be "i nosti nipotini", instead of "nipoti"?
    As nipotini is the plural of nipoti?
    Thank you.

    • @ItalianTeacherValentina
      @ItalianTeacherValentina  6 місяців тому

      Buona domanda, LJ! "Nipotino" (singular form of "nipotini") is the diminuitive form of "nipote" (singular form of "nipoti"), and it's used for very young grandchildren (e.g. toddlers). We often use the suffix "-ino" in Italian to make something smaller. So if you say "i nostri nipotini" that means "our little grandchildren", whereas if you say "i nostri nipoti" that could work both for very young and adult grandchildren.

    Thank you for the video. Very useful.
    What about bisnonno ?
    Can we say ( mio bisnonno ) or ( il mio bisnonno) ?

    • @ItalianTeacherValentina
      @ItalianTeacherValentina  Рік тому

      We say "il mio bisnonno", probably because we don't consider that "close" family (probably because in the past - and still nowadays - it was not common to have a living bisnonno :) )

    • @ItalianTeacherValentina

      She count as family! "Mia cognata" NOT "La mia cognata". Here's a video about vocabulary for family members: ua-cam.com/video/j6aqpvO0MzQ/v-deo.html

  • @paulanderson1962
    @paulanderson1962 Рік тому

    So another appropriate posessive adjective is vostra which is Italian for "your". Or Mia which is "my". You could not have nostri which is Italian for our but is a masculine plural word.

      It's the same as "his house". So "La sua casa" means BOTH "his house" and "her house". Please watch this video if you want a more step-by-step explanation of the process: ua-cam.com/video/x1VOfHyeSak/v-deo.html

    You pronounce,"casa" with the s sound but i have heard it with z sound. Is this a regional dialect?
