How To Set Your Onefinity Elite CNC Parking Location in Masso Controller!

- In this video, I show you how to set your parking location by editing the post-processor in VCarve Pro, then how to set it up in your Masso Controller. Messing with your post processor can be intimidating, but this is a simple modification. If you're unsure about anything, ask questions. I also highly recommend visiting the websites below to become more familiar with g-code and m-code before you begin.

Very good video! I believe the process for loading the new post processor is different for Aspire software. I had to do the following in addition to the video instructions:
Under "Post Processor, select "Add Post-Processors"
When the dialogue box opens, select the "+" sign at the bottom
Select the edited file you edited in the video instructions.
Then your edited post-processor file will show up as a choice under "Post Processor"
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I had to do.

you convinced me to go with the Onefinity. I think it is well worth the extra money. Looks like the controller is more like a conventional CNC mill controller. will have to sell my pro.
My former machine was a Shapeoko Pro XXL, and while it was a very good machine and served me well, it simply can’t compete with the Onefinity Elite.
You’ll never regret the switch to Onefinity. 😊👍

@@MitchellsWoodwork I'm settling in with Masso now thanks to your insights. Did you tackle the tool numbering between Masso and VCarve? Any recommendations when doing this? Been looking on forums but cant figure a way to do it on one and export to the other. Or would that be just to easy!
Almost forgot, You know of a way to display the Job ETA rather than just time elapsed? My old onefinity did this and not having that just seems like a step backwards to me. Like a night out drinking with no curfew from the wife!
@@oseanmc yes, I had to renumber all of my bits in VCarve (I had a cool numbering system too...dang it!). Then I manually added the new tool info into the Masso. If there's an easier way I'd sure like to know about it.

Is there a way to do the thing with Work Origin?
I just cut the holes in the wasteboard for a fence that will position work pieces at a repeatable, custom work origin location.

Your explanation with everything is great, but my cnc just retracts until my z axis motor goes to the top then errors, have it set at 2.5 inches. Any suggestions.

What is that mount that you have on top of the Z-Axis which is holding the coolant cables as they come over the top?

How do you speed up the homing?
My settings:
F1 > Homing > Seq 1 = Z
Seq 2 = X, Y
I have my homing feedrate set to 150 ipm, but that’s a little too fast for some folks.
Good Evening. When I get to file location and click to open my computer asks "How do you want to open the file" . Do I need to have power-point or what is the correct app to use? I am trying to add the parking location.
Just open it in MS Notepad. Add the “[N] G30” code above the M30 code at the bottom of your post processor code. Then click “Save”, DO NOT click “Save As”. If you’re prompted to change the name of the file, just add something like G30 to the end of the existing file name and save it.

One more question if you don't mind. It does not ask me to change the name of the existing file after I add the G30. It does put the edit button before so that I know which on it is, but is it ok to rename it after I open from the file location in Vcarve? I want to name it with G30 so that I use that post processor when I need it to park. Thank you!
