    Thank you so much for your video!!! I just installed it and I only had one hitch.
    When I set the same Ip, subnet, and gateway as my pc it would never connect.
    I had to change the last set of numbers in the Ip address to something different.
    than my pc, it connected right up and works great!!!
    PLEASE keep the MASSO tutorials coming!!!!
    GREAT CHANNEL!!!!!

      Thanks, Brian! One important thing to note, when I allowed the Masso to “find” the IP address, the last two numbers were different than what was shown on my computer (081 vs 078). I noticed that it did that, but I didn’t understand why. But, thanks to your comment, I now understand why it did that. 😊👍

    Great walkthrough. One thing to consider - if the file you're transferring is a 3D model that is say 15mb in size, it may just be easier to slap the flash drive into your computer as it will be much quicker.

      Great point! I suppose “caveman mode” can be the best way…sometimes. 😉

    Hi Marty, as always great tutorial. I now understand what I have been seeing when you transfer a file to the machine, However, I am still in caveman mode, but I will remember this video and if I decide to change, I will be able to make the switch. The main reason I will remain in caveman mode is my ability to make changes in my toolpaths while running a project. One thing to note. The short cuts you showed are good for everyone. I will at least follow that. Thank you.

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  6 місяців тому

      Thanks for your feedback, Jim. If I’m understanding you correctly, you’ve opted to not use the WiFi transfer function and instead just save the gcode to the thumb drive and then plug the thumb drive into the Masso to upload your gcode (ie: caveman mode), and this allows you to still make changes to toolpaths in the middle of a project.
      I guess I’m not understanding why you couldn’t do the same thing wirelessly through the Masso Link?

      @@MitchellsWoodworkDidn't seem possible, when you loaded the file, all toolpaths seemed to be run consecutively. If I am alert and careful to make sure I have each tool numbered, then a tool path would be prompted. My method is to save all toolpaths to file (Carveco Maker) then load individually. I am still using a Makita and haven't set up my tools in the Masso. All my bits are set up for the Makita, not for the factory recommendations. My delay is prompted by my decision to upgrade to a PwnCNC spindle. I thought (until you corrected me that feeds and speeds are different for the spindle). I am working on a new tool database with the factory recommendations for each bit. Really dread loading it in the Masso one at a time.

    Question... so you have to have a thumb drive inserted in the Masso controller and you download it to the thumb drive? Then the controller reads the thumb drive?

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  5 днів тому

      @@searl1 correct. The Masso doesn’t have onboard storage. I just wirelessly transfer my gcode files from my laptop to the Masso. I hardly ever need to remove the thumb drive, it’s basically a permanent onboard storage device for the Masso.

    Question. Does the WiFi module come already install in the controller or do have to buy one and install it first?

    Do you prefer Onefinity to setter or Pwncnc tool setter

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  Місяць тому

      Between the two, I’ve only used the PwnCNC tool setter, so I can’t really compare the two from personal experience. However, according to their website the PwnCNC metalworker tool setter has exceptional positioning accuracy with a tolerance of 0.001mm. Also it costs around $15 less than the Onefinity which doesn’t list any accuracy information. You can use my affiliate link to save an additional 5% off your order at PwnCNC. Thanks for watching!

    I am having an issue with my masso using carvico. I zero the onefinity to the material and then when i load the job its shifted to the right, its not centered with in the material. Sometimes so much i have to move the material to get all on the material. Is there something im missing?

    • @kevinrich4637
      @kevinrich4637 6 місяців тому

      I don’t use Carvico yet. Sounds like you may have checked offset somewhere?

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  6 місяців тому

      Sounds like it’s possible that your job setup parameters in Carveco don’t match where you’re actually zeroing your X and Y. For example, if you’re zeroing your XY on the CENTER of your work piece, make sure you have selected “center” in the job set up, instead of “lower left”…or vice versa. Let me know if this helps.

    I just got a new elite upgrade and cannot connect to my wifi. I tried everything. I have 2.4 gig and an excellent signal. i wonder if I have a bad module in masso

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  4 місяці тому

      Try to do it without creating a permanent IP address on the Masso.

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  4 місяці тому

      ALSO, if you’re Masso is still running v5.06 I’d recommend you go ahead and upgrade to v5.07 through your “Masso MyWorkshop” account. Your current version number is at the top left of your Masso screen. This may not help with your WiFi setup, I’m not sure about that. But since you’re just starting with a new unit you might as well start with the latest software.

    Marty, when I opened the link, I was given the option for v2.11 and v2.12. v2.11 is for machines running Masso software v5.06 and v2.12 is for machines running software v5.07. I downloaded v2.11 and set it up. Works fine. However, this morning I got a message from Masso regarding the release of Masso software v5.07. I guess if I upgrade my Masso software, I will have to changes from Link v2.11 to Link v2.12. Nothing is ever easy or simple. I did read in the release notes that v5.07 fixes the bug problem about the spindle starting issue.

      Got up and going Thanks to you. I had downloaded 2.12 and could not connect. Download 2.11 and was able to connect. I wrote Masso explaining my situation. I did not know there was a software update, 5.08. (I think) I have not upgraded so still using 2.11. Used it today to transfer some files on a couple of projects I am working on. I am lucky to live in Gig City some files transferred quickly. The ONLY thing I wish this setup could do is transfer files during a carve but hey I love this feature. I appreciate you taking the time to show how to set this up and use it.
      I hope you are continuing to get better.
