RavenEye transmits video while giving you remote control of camera parameters. Transmits 1080p video from up to 200 m (656 ft) away with a latency of just 60 ms. In this video, we will talk about how to set up and use the RavenEye Image Transmission System!

I'm very happy to see this video because just this week I bought the Ronin RS2 with the RavenEye specifically for tracking close-ups of conference speakers. I'm returning it again, as it's more work to use it than not. Even with a speaker, who is not moving very much, it's looses tracking OR framing, so you end up having to re-track the person over and over again. Often, it changes framing, so even with a speaker almost standing still, the position on screen slowly drifts to another side. When doing quick tests, like most seem to do on UA-cam, it seems to work but in real life it's much too unstable to use for a thing like conferences. I'm not sure why it's this unstable - perhaps the unfavorable lighting in conferences or because of the distance to the subject? Anyway, I would LOVE for this to work instead of paying a camera operator for this, but it's simply not good enough - hopefully, it's not good enough YET, as in, "maybe a future softwareupdate will improve this" but for now, I'm returning it.Compared to Panasonic PTZ's with their similar tracking system, the RavenEye is only a gimmick (yet). Note: My setup is Ronin RS2 + Raveneye + Sony A7S III + Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 G2 lens.

Does RavenEye also transmit audio? I haven’t been able to get this to work and it’s annoying because if I want to play back a clip, I have to turn raven eye off and play clip directly on my R5. The R5 refuses to play sound when the RavenEye is turned on, making me think it’s trying to send the audio like it would to an Atmos Ninja.
DJI, PLEASE enable users to use both Lidar AF and Raveneye at the same time. Even if there are some limitations, it would be so much better than nothing.
Any tips to connect the control of the 1dx3 to it, I just cannot get the Raven eye to control the 1DX3. Video transmission is fine. I have no problem connecting it to a Sony A9.

Hi.. just providing extra some information here. Raven Eye activetrack work best with wide lens up until 50mm.. anything beyond that then it'll go CRAZY. Also if u wanna use your phone as monitor to your director, the signal is not that strong and will starts to disconnect if it's blocked by wall.
luckily I'm a one man band using my phone as an on-board field monitor then XD
@dji I have an A6600 with the 16 55mm 2.8 Gmaster. With the raveneye connected on the coldshoe it makes my camera top heavy. Unable to balance it right. Even when the 1st axis is all the way to zero.... Also the screws of the lens holder are to close on eachother.
Is it possible to use DJI app to touch focus on Sony (a7iii)? Sony's native app lacks this and is also useless when it comes to using smartphone as a monitor... well is basically useless. Via Raveneye preview is almost with no noticeable lag... if touch focus was somehow working forcing camera to actually focus on the point that would be amazing.
This is SO cool! But, it would be great to reverse the text color in case the background is very bright, like in this video.

Can I assume if you using Rzveneye with the Ronin app your unable to use the features of the app if you were connected to the gimbal using bluetooth?

There a way to setup RavenEye to follow ones head motion, i.e. imitating the camera being mounted on your head?
Is there a way to control the camera settings using RavenEye with the Sony A7III and RS2 gimbal? So far when I connect the HDMI, USB-C and Sony Multi cables, I am only getting limited usability in the Ronin App on my iphone. I am able to view the image transmission, press record and use the RavenEye functions such as force mobile, active track, zebras, focus peaking etc. But I am unable to adjust any settings such as ISO, Shutter speed, aperture, or focus using the Raveneye function in the Ronin app.

I'm a personal trainer taking my work to the online universe. Mother Nature/Pandemic has given me the nudge to up my game. I have a question for you. What are your thoughts on using this technology for Zoom/live streaming? I have one challenge I'm trying to figure around, I have a Canon M50 and trying to figure out how to come up with a Clean HDMI and maintaining 1080. Is there SOMEWHERE a tutorial for connections ??? I have the RSC2 Pro combo since last month and impossible to make it work !!!!
I'm a bit confused how to use my RS3 to power the raveneye, say the raveneye is at 0% I can connect it to dji rs3, my mobile phone, yet the raven eye on my phone says the gimbal is not connected (I assume due to 0% battery)
So if it's at 0% battery, can the raveneye not just use the rs3 as the power source?
My issue with weeble s video transmission with sony a7iii is when I record video I can see any picture on camera screen and it only on my cell phone so I planned to return the gimbal.
Do you think with dji ronans2 I will able to video on both camera lcd screen as well on my cell phone?
That has to do with your camera settings, that’s why it goes black on your camera screen
@@jtorresphoto3963 Yes, what I learned is, if shooting in 4k then it output via video transmission is HD 1024 on external device and not on camera screen, but if shoot in 1024 then only it is on both screen. If you know any particular setting in Sony a73 which can show 4k in both camera and on external device please while recording video please let me know...highly appreciated
The Raven Eye System is no accessory! Had I known earlier, I should have used it with my cam and stabilizer right at the start! It makes a ton of difference, trust me!

How to solve low battery?
Will RavenEye work even if your camera doesnt support tethering control? I have a G85 and I cant use tethering or camera control. Would I just connect Raveneye to the HDMI and then to the Gimble and thats all?
Have u found out yet? I have a canon 70d which is not supported but i want to transmit video, which should work but i am not sure. Technically u could hook it up to a dvd player as its just video hdmi right?

Okay following this. It says connect HDMI - okay I do - and the video does. Then the narrator is silent as the guy in the video connects ANOTHER CABLE yet no sound to tell what it is for what it's for? Then it says as it connects a 3rd cable to connect the control to the camera. What was cable #2?

Am I seeing correctly that you're using an Iphone? My Iphone 12 Pro can't see the Raven Eye's Wifi at all. I've connected all the cables and the led is blue but there's nothing more I can do. Any ideas how to fix this?

You need to mention where to connect the cable to a Sony camera. Is it the USB C input or the USB mini to the Multi input on Sony?

I recently bought the Raveneye to use with my RS2 and Sony a7iv and everything works apart from the camera shutter speed iso and aperture controls no matter what I try I cannot get it to work. When I use the Sony mult cable I get the option to change the shutter speed and others but it’s just says NA and obviously I can’t change anything but if I use the usb c cable I don’t get anything at all. Anyone had any luck?
does raveneye support the focus motor? I don't find an adjustment for focus while connected with raveneye

I use two phones: one to monitoring the raveneye the other connected to the rs2 so i can pull focus and see the image at the same time.

Hi can I charge the Raveneye with a normal usb c charger from the wall or does it always have to charge from the gimbal?

Don't quote me on this, but Raven Eye should work with any camera with an HDMI port. As long as your camera can output a video feed with HDMI, Raven Eye should work. However, it is not guaranteed that you can control the camera with the gimbal as your camera is not listed on the compatibility list.

Hello, I got a prolem. After connect Raveneyes to my A7iii everything is fine until i press REC. My camera monitor turn to black and only smartphone show up.Only happened to my a7iii because i tried to connect on A7siii and everything is great.Is this because of a7iii hardware?
are u recording in 4k? if yes then it's a7iii limitation.
Set combo: A7C and RSC2 + revaneye.

Wanted to use the RavenEye on my Sony A7iii. Unfortunately, only after purchase learned that there is a limitation here regarding the use of gimbal control and temporal HDMI transmission....
Unfortunately, there is nothing at DJI and there is also no meaningful solution in the forums to make the compatibility.

Hi. I was wondering. How do you use it and make the tracking work when filming on potrait mode? I tried mount the camera potrait mode with camera cage (without the vertical plate) and left and right is inverted. Then I bought the vertical plate, but then there is no place to mount the raven eye under the plate?

Hello, are you using the Multi-cable when connecting with the RavenEye? Have you switched off the 'smartphone control' on the setting of the camera?
have a look at hdmi output settings of your camera too...i think 4k doesn't work

I've got the RSC2 with RavenEye and even after a year of ownership it still doesn't work with the Sony ZV-E10. What should have been an ideal combination because of the light weight of the ZV-E10, has been a very expensive waste of time. I can get it all to work with my canon 90D but that is about twice the weight. Looking at other video's on here it would seem that DJI gimbals and RavenEye really struggle with Sony cameras. So if you own a Sony camera don't buy a DJI gimbal as they seem incapable of sorting these problems out with Sony.

Raveneye is a transmitter, your phone/app device is the receiver. You would need to plug your phone into a monitor...
I connected my camera and monitor (ninja v) via a HDMI cable and I used the monitor's hdmi output port to connect to raveneye. Technically I just run the signal through the monitor. The downside of the whole thing is the tons of cables...:/ I recommend thin cables.
@@algernom Can you also record via HDMI, me with my xt2 camera i just can have flog movies files over HDMI, how can i manage that? I didn't find any solution for that problem...

Umm I don't see a camera control cable in my raven eye box 1:08, I had to use the one from my other Zhiyun gimbal and it worked

@@marcoaslan The "phone holder" is actually a DJI OM-4, which is their newest phone gimbal. Serves an extra purpose here.
Unfortunately there is not a button on the Ronin App for Auto Focus, even though the Gimbal has half-press AF. Most wireless controllers have this essential function.
Unacceptable after 2 years.
You are better off using your free camera WiFi app and if you need more range use a portable router attached to the gimbal.

This is all great and everything, but only image transmission and no audio transmission. Also, you can't transmit the image+audio directly to your computer for example using it as a live streaming source. rtmp or ndi for obs as an example.
Wish this could give us a clean HDMI out also / instead. Would not mind having to buy and extra bit to do this. Would make this useful for live work.
Just speculating here. But wouldn't that be possible with a hdmi splitter used from the camera output? I will test it out asap

1. Check whether the camera HDMI output is normal (testing method: Connect the camera to another display or monitor using an HDMI cable, and check whether the display or camera can output normally. Check whether the HDMI cable is functioning).
2. Check whether the HDMI video output source format set in the camera is supported by the RavenEye Image Transmission System.
3. Check whether the mobile phone Wi-Fi has been enabled and is functioning (the Wi-Fi can be connected normally).
4. Check whether the Status LED of the RavenEye Image Transmission System is functioning (solid green).
5. When the RavenEye Image Transmission System is powered on, tap the Power button six times to cancel the password of the RavenEye Image Transmission System. Try connecting again.
5. In the mobile phone settings, select to forget the RavenEye Image Transmission System network on the WLAN interface. Enable the mobile phone WLAN again and go back to the Ronin app interface to connect.
6. Go to mobile phone system settings - App settings and check whether permission for the Ronin app has been enabled (The related permissions in positioning, Bluetooth, and WLAN must be enabled).
7. Use another mobile phone and try again.

On my iphone the connection is working but my screen is black... No image. But force mobile works. What's going on ?
Hey, we just couldn't find the answers, active tracking just couldn't work with our brand new RS3 and Raven eye.
We connected A7S3's HDMI port to the RavenEye's HDMI port, and then connected the battery USB-C port of the RavenEye to the bottom port of the gimbal, just setup as same as this video.
We can see live view on our Phone, but when we chose the object that we wanted to follow, the green square could follow the object in the frame but without gimbal movement!!! As long as the person go out of the frame, the green square will turn red, our gimbal just didn't follow our objects.
We wonder why, but cannot find any answer on the Internet, hope somebody can help us!
We try to downgrade the RavenEye to make the edition same as the gimbal, still didn't work.
We also additionally connected the camera's USB-C port into the RSS port of the gimbal, still don't work.
Disappointed, Needs Help.
Does anyone experience a little bit of inconsistency with the follow focus motor? Like a slight jitter? DJI QC is garbage and their window of return (15 days) is very short. Trying to see if I'm the only person who got shafted.
Yep. It jitters almost every time I use mine. It needs a higher confidence threshold before making adjustments.

Hi for some reason when I go to my Raven eye wifi it disconnects my Ronin and I get messages stating I need to turn on the motors/connect the Ronin S2….I am using a Sony A7r2 with an iPhone 12 and I have reached out to DJI but they have horrible service….considering returning it all at this point

I cannot get the video feed from the raveneye on my Canon 6D Mark II to either my Galaxy s8+ or my Galaxy s20 Ultra. I can control the camera, and change settings, but the video will not feed to my phone. Help!
Reset password, power down camera and raveneye. It should work on next powerup. I have the same camera and had the same issues.
@@jasonclark6543 We tried that. DJI had us mail it in. Seems to be a bad unit.
