This really should've been an open-world game where you can explore the gorgeous world the game has to offer. Collectibles, side missions, an in-game database, more combat diversification between shooting, brawling and stealth, maybe even a complete story where the first ending is only the middle of the game and you can free London (and the world) from the tyrannical Knights and the Lord Chancellor.
Either I read your mind or you read mine when I thought that this game is only worth renting rather than buying.

The 21:9 aspect ratio is not to make it more cinematic. It's to improve performance because there are less pixels to be shaded and a lot of modern effects are post processing pixel shaders.

I noticed a while back that chris stuckmann himself commented on your fellowship review which is pretty awesome! Zelda Wii U looks amazing! And Persona 5 is a big one for me too! Persona 4 is my favorite RPG of all time, and I highly recommend it!

The black bars worked during cutscenes and the parts of the game that were none combat that would improve the gunplay a lot

I really like these Critical Reviews, they help fill in the gaps until the next big review. Though Suspect, do you think you'll ever review those Telltale Games Game of Thrones video games? I'm kind of curious if I should buy them since I'm intrigued by the story, characters, and just being a part of that world but the graphics and gameplay are horrible. It's a bit of a conflict of quality to say the least.
Well that was a pleasant surprise before Return of the King review. I like these game reviews a lot. I hope you do more for the some of the slew of amazing looking games planned for this year, i.e MGSV, Zelda U, Uncharted 4, FFXV, Witcher 3...or just something like that, those were just examples.

I'll probably pick this game up when its about £20 or less. I kinda want a short game experience having just beat Far Cry 4, but I don't want to spend £40 on it. Scratch that, cos of the overpricing of games in the UK, its actually £50! Thats $80, $20 more than most AAA games in the US. *facepalm* I am interested in this game as a TPS fan, but like I said, not getting it until its dropped in price which might be a while.
Also why on earth is there a separate extras section just for the credits? Was there DLC planned or online that didn't make it? *facedesk*

Also, what i thought on The Order............yeah, even i had my suspicions that The Order was going to be A) Graphics over Gameplay & B) An Uncharted game, but without any of the fun and being WAY to linear.
CathedralWater I might review Alien. The thing with film requests though is that I have to put them on the end of a veeery long to do list. I'll most likely do it eventually it, just don't expect it anytime soon.

Mirrors the past few Call of Duties... beautiful graphics with amazing set-pieces... yet has no soul... graphically on par with Naughty Dog games... yet no regard for complex storytelling... help me Quantum Break and Uncharted 4, you're my only hope.

Except Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain have some of the best gameplay mechanics ever thought up. The Order 1886 cannot even come close to it.

I personally like QTE's. But there's a limit of how much I'd like to do it. The Order 1886 went WAY past that limit. You read right, someone that likes QTE's doesn't like this game's QTE's.

I remember the hype for The Order 1886 and now it's flopped more than a wet towel. Is it me or do too many games these days seem to be doing that?
Also great use of the Tekken 4 and 6 soundtracks in the background. It made the gameplay seem that little bit more fun :)
No it's not just you, that seems to be the trend with AAA or games that tried to look AAA where the publishers try to market the ever loving shit out of average games to make a decent amount. Because they know that word of mouth and reviews aren't going to cut it.

They could have just released it at like $24.99 and then added episodes. I mean, most of the work is already done - the engine, models, art and sound assets, etc.
If they needed money up front to pay for the huge budget, they could have released a season pass $60 version with the promise of more game or something.

Why does everyone like 60fps so much? Especially in a game like this, 30fps makes it look more cinematic. I think it really depends what you're going for.

60 FPS objectively speaking make a game better gameplaywise. Why? INPUT.
Fuck "cinematic feeling", games are made to be played, like it or not, and 60FPS allow for smoother gameplay as it gives the player more precise input.
Also, this game is lackluster even with that "cinematic feeling"(or arguably because of it)
VladNorris I'm not defending the game, just the use of 30 FPS. Unless you're playing a game where every second matters (which is the case a lot of the time), being able to see 60 frames in a second isn't always necessary. For example, in a turn based strategy game, who cares if you see every frame? If you want that game to be more cinematic, why not use 30 FPS and spice up the graphics a bit to boot?
Bingo675 The thing is, this is a real time combat based third person shooter. You can't apply that thing of graphical boot and artistic choice because it can come acres against gameplay.
Let alone, fuck HD graphical focuses and fuck cinematic games.
Games aren't movies and trying to make them movies just cripples their potential as it reduces it's features to another medium it's just incompatible. Games can be a narrative but trying to make them something they aren't is just...stupid and self-crippling.
VladNorris I totally agree that a game isn't a movie, and again I'm not defending this game, I'm just defending it's usage in certain circumstances. I don't even like turn based strategy games. I'm only saying that you don't need to see every moment of the game all the time. When you're running through a level in Halo and every bullet you fire needs to count, there's an advantage to 60 FPS. During a cinematic in Halo when you want it to look like a movie, there's nothing wrong with using 30 FPS to achieve this. (This may be a bad example because the frame rate change may cause a disconnect between game and cutscenes, but you get the point).
Movie review suggestions: Star Wars and Harry Potter but take all the time you need. BTW i love your voice..... no homo
