  • Hi everyone!
Wanted to switch things up for today's video and film a German Culture Shocks as a Nigerian student living and working in Germany!
As I said in the video, this is not meant to be negative whatsoever, I absolutely LOVE living in Germany and this are just a few of the cultural differences I experienced since my time living in Kiel Schleswig Holstein!
Let me know if you would like to see a Part 2 of this video because I mainly covered the basic differences in this video and didn't even cover half the list I made!

After living in germany for 20 years, the first time I visited Nigeria, I was in for a reverse culture shock 😂😂. I was seriously acting like a German and getting angry at the way things were going in Nigeria. It took me a whole week to re adjust to live as an African in Nigeria.

Yes, there are courses and Universities that offer public health in Germany, you’ll just need to check them and see if you meet their requirements and if you have all the requirements at hand before you start applying.
Germany is almost free as we all know, but the major thing is the blocked accounts, & the blocked account is almost 12,000€ now and another thing is Germany isn’t granting interviews for now except you are on scholarship.
And about the language, you’ll need to learn it in the long run if you want to become a permanent resident.
And if you are single, UK is also a good place to go if you have money with the one that they have casted families in the UK

      Hi Sis,
I doubt you would just find someone like that.
You’ll need someone living close to you to be able to speak it frequently. Majority of people in Germany are quite busy and just sitting to speak might be difficult.
How I learned it asides my German class was when I lived in a shared kitchen in my city, I Always engaged my neighbors who come to Cook.
      I hope that helps

Thank you so much Ade, i found your Chanel today and i quickly subscribed. I'm a Nigerian living in UAE and I'm making plans of relocating there next year but then i don't know how and where to start from. Also i have few concerns
    1. I have about six years work experience which is totally different from my first degree.
I have Bsc and i want to come there for masters in Public Health but then all my six years experience has been on sales and customer service, will this be a barrier for me in any way?
    2. Would you advice i apply from UAE?

Thank you so much for subscribing 💃🙏
      1. Your work experience sometimes doesn’t matter depending on the school
      2. Are you a resident of UAE? Do you have their permit? If yes, then you can apply, if no, you’ll have to apply from Nigeria.
      3. Check schools for their requirements, get your documents together and apply. Ensure you have the blocked account ready because the time you get your admit and when you get the visa interview date and travel is usually short.
Then to crown it up, Germany isn’t giving visas for now, so I’ll suggest you try other EU countries like Norway, Poland and others
      Goodluck

Hi, just checking your site out and I have gained a lot. My siblings applied to Leipzig university to study American Studies. We couldn't apply to another university due to money, we paid 75 euros for the first application through uni assist so applying to another was an issue. We are already preparing just incase they are picked, how do we open the block account, can we also get the health insurance from Germany, I also heard in one of your session where you talked about travel insurance, I didn't see that when researching. Also trying to get an apartment for them in Leipzig in quite hard. Please I need your advise.
    Thank you

      Hello Adebola!
Thank you for clicking and watching!
I understand your reservations with uniassist.
Why didn’t they try to apply to schools that don’t require any application fees for the same course?
I like that you are preparing while waiting because everything can happen super fast as soon as they get the admission.
Opening the blocked account is actually quite easy if you go through the steps. I might try to do a video about this soon.
I did my insurance from Nigeria, I used LEADWAY ASSURANCE. I did the three months kind and got my full health insurance when I got to my city here in Germany.
Apartment sourcing is also a lot of work because there is a competition from people that are applying too, I was abit stranded when I came too, try checking Facebook for the Leipzig community in Germany (e.g Nigerian students in Leipzig etc), join in and ask questions when you can until you are fully settled, loads of people get help through this means.
      Goodluck to your siblings ❤️

No it’s not compulsory but it would be nice if you knew a little. The consular at the embassy might favor you if you know a little, it would show your seriousness about studying.
      2. You definitely NEED to work and study, because how do you intend to fend for yourself during your stay after the blacked account is finished within a year.
I’ll definitely advice you to go on with your application and I wish you Goodluck.

      @adeolaakinyemiju9792  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi
      Thank you for watching 😀
This case is going to be quite challenging as you stated that you are not yet in Europe.
The first thing is getting a Schengen visa for visiting/tourism, only then can you apply to get married in the residence of your partner or the city of your liking. They give 6 months visas and you’ll need to get married before your visa expires because they need your visa to be valid three months before the wedding.
Before getting married, you have to reach out to the agency/office dealing with marriage in your preferred location only then will you know exactly what document they’ll need from you.
Some places will need your messages from when you started dating, some will need pictures evidence, maybe screenshot of your calls or something similar. I’m saying this because we were asked to send evidence that we dated for a while and we are in this for love and not papers.
So I don’t want to give a definite answer because I don’t know the exact place you want to get married at.
But my two cents is get your Schengen visa first

Hello 👋 pls I am a mom of two with a spouse.. I wish to study bsc in computer science or ICT in Germany but I don’t know how to go about it ... heard the institution’s tuition fees are free to an extent also hear primary and secondary Sch are free or affordable I don’t know how true that is...nevertheless I still don’t know what city to move to that has a Nigerian community that is also very affordable for me and my family... and the city university to consider too...then how possible for me to get admission

    • @adeolaakinyemiju9792
      @adeolaakinyemiju9792  Рік тому +1

      Hi,
Yes you can study any course of choice.
Tuition is almost free but you will have to put some money in your account also known as (blocked account).
So firstly, check for schools online ( schools that don’t require application fees are available too), check their requirements, ensure you have all your documents available, apply, while doing this, ensure you have about 11,000 euros (that’s about 7 million Naira plus or so) available so that you don’t waste time as soon as you get your admission. When the admission letter is out, apply for your visa and await your visa interview date. And because you have kids, I guess you’ll need an extra 5k euros or so. Except you want to come alone first and the reality is when you come alone, it’s hard to bring your kids so I advise you apply for everyone at once if you have the money.
      Goodluck

      2. You’ll need move out of Germany and marry someone in another Schengen country.
