Self loathing can destroy a person's recovery. Stay focused on the present day and truly let go of the past. Remember "sometimes in life you have to jump off a bridge and grow wings on the way down". Never let your "sins" of the past define who you are today.

@@bronnismofo Thanks for sharing that bro. It's essential to live in the present. Because the present will be the past and determines your future. The time is now. Thanks for sharing, it reconfirmed everything.

28 days sober now. Thats the longest clean time i ever achieved since i am addicted. Thank you so much for you supporting vids. Sometimes your vids just came online at the right time. For example, i had a big argument with my gf early this week. It was horrible because i just dont felt like being able to cope with it besides being still in early recovery. Then your video "important recovery advice" came online and yeah that helped me a lot.
Your vids dont made me stronger on their own, but they showed me how strong i can be with the right mind set. Thank you man!

Yep I went from being very successful in my 20's and 30's to being broke at 43. That made me hate myself everyday. I can't beat myself up anymore than I have. Thanks for this video. I know I still have time to turn things around.

Pete the Pirate Me too buddy. Just gone 40 but through opiates and my choices everything has gone-job partner car savings/huge debt now and house in few weeks. But I’m clean 12 days first time in 4 years! We can turn things around it just takes time to change everything and achieve the things we want but it’s possible. Ryan and so many people who commented here are proof of that. Good luck! 👍🏼

Do you hear many stories about people who have ongoing pain issues, after getting off the opiates? Like people with inoperable spine issues, chronic migraines, systemic problems like RA, and other pain issues that continue? After they get off the opiates, do they notice less pain in those cases?

How are you doing ? Reading all the comments and yours stuck out because it's like me. I use everything way too fast too. And today I'm planning on going cold turkey tomorrow. My life goes downhill really fast once I pick up as a result. Just hope you're doing well from a year ago because it would be good to hear . All the best

Thanks mate, Did u receive my e-mail the other day? If you've been too busy to reply it's no worries; but I'm starting detox on Sunday (2nd attempt within a week; but 1st attempt overall), and would really appreciate some advice about the dehydration/vommiting situation and at what's the earliest point I should get to a hospital for an I.V. drip before I do myself harm through this difficult phase; 'cause I just can't keep anything down. Thanks

Best thing is to force you to drink enough water. Just have a bottle of water with you around all the time so you can make sips and dont have to drink a lot in a short time which is less effective. Water is just the most important supplyment your body needs during wd.(sweating hard, need to pee all the time, vomiting and diarrhoe, all these things dehydrate your body)
I know a lot cant eat anything in the early phase but its important to do. Its really not so important what you eat, but to give your body basic things back like fat, proteins and carbonhydrates. Bananas worked great for me. Also soups worked well for me. Eating is also import for your stomache to get well soon.
There is also a lot of helpful medication out there like the prior post mentioned. Clonidine(Catapresan) for example lowers the blood pressure which will allow you to come down a bit and fall easier asleep. It also lowers axiety a bit and your heart rate will decrease a bit, which are both a side effect of lowering the blood pressure.
Im not a doctor and i dont recommend to take clonidine or pregabablin before talking to a doctor. You will only get them with prescription anyway.
Sry for my bad english and i wish you the best.

briansjw My go to, aside from music, was simply Gatorade, chicken noodle soup(mainly the broth) with goldfish crackers lol, popsicles, lots of water, and lots of peppermints, which is known to help with nausea. Just ate small amounts about 6 times a day. I learned to eat first thing in the morning before nausea set in. Only medication I took was Tylenol for massive headaches. 14 yrs on suboxone btw and now almost 3 months clean!! First couple of weeks were rough and thank you God I have a bf that helped with everything around the house:) u gotta think positive too, I let the depression get to me about 4 weeks in but then realized, with the help of one of Ryan’s vids, that I needed to stay as active as I could and not get bored. I actually started walking/jogging which, to my surprise, really made me feel great! Wish u all the best in recovery and just remember to focus on anything but the wd’s!!

Chris Gregori thanks. That's stuff I can get my hands on. I heard from someone else that peppermint is good for nausea so "from the mouth of two or three witnesses etc" cheers
