    Congrats. I had same exact one. Fantastic cars. be on the look out for a rattling timing chain, its an indication that the timing guides are worn and need replacement. they're expensive, but not as expensive as needing a brand new engine if you start skipping time.

      @turnerscarsUK  8 місяців тому

      Thank you 👍 that was something I was very aware of when I had a look, listened for rattling and also looked for oil leaks. All seems clear there. I've seen how complicated the timing chain replacement is, it looks a very difficult job!

    Nice looking XFR, I was recently looking at an XFR or SV8 - I just couldn’t make the numbers work, given my annual mileage of 25k. I ended up with a 2014 XFS, which suits me really well. I look forward to future updates. If you manage to find the clips for the scuttle panel, do let me know as I had one broken when a new front screen was fitted to my car

    • @turnerscarsUK
      @turnerscarsUK  8 місяців тому

      I've had an SV8 before too, lovely car, but pipped by the more sporting aspects of the XFR. The seats for example are standard. Your XFS has probably got the same sculpted seats as the XFR? I had a 3.0 diesel S for a couple of weeks but it was a bit of a lemon so was returned to the dealer.
      The XFS is a lovely car too though, a decent amount of power from that, but much better on fuel and tax. I definitely wouldn't recommend the V8 for 25k a year!
      If the clips are hard to find I'll just suck it up and go to the dealer, can't be more than a couple of quid each.

    Nice car. The illuminated sills probably weren't retrofitted from a later model. My SV8 was a year old when I bought it, and it came with them. The XFR hadn't launched at the time. They were in the accessories brochure.

    Nice. XFR's are great cars. Must be the Very last of the X250 to have the 5.0ltr in it. Before that, it was the outstanding 4.2. I've heard that the bonnet vents can let in water which pools in the injector wells and causes them to sieze in the block. But that is dependent upon their position. You can get rubber water guide mats to place under them.

    • @turnerscarsUK
      @turnerscarsUK  7 місяців тому +3

      The XF had the 4.2 as the SV8, even more rare than an XFR as they were replaced quickly after launch. Fantastic engine, but not quite as sporty as the XFR.

      For me yes, forward alert and parking sensors are not working, but it drives fine and the main warning can be turned off every drive. It's not an MOT failure as the engine management light isn't on. It's currently the first thing on the list to investigate, after I've sold one of the other cars or two!
