Beautiful instrument and endless possibilities, but most important: good sound and a warm feel to it...congratz with this beauty! Maybe, one day, it will stand right in front of me ;-} And these words come from a huge KORG-fan!
Excellent review of a product. Please continue. I love that you spend more time testing and actually showing the product's capabilities rather than simply telling us.
This is a really cool synth. Sounds great and it has all the retro stuff and some very interesting new features. Instant album. Turn drums on. Turn arp on. Hit a few chords. Leave for about an hour. Done.
It "MUST BE GOOD" because I've never seen David Åhlund look so happy and excited before !! seriously though this synth is at the top of my "MUST HAVE" list - SUPERB !!
Tried that baby at a music store in my hometown until my seven year old daughter showed up&it was hard to get her away from that awesome machine...already a legend!
I wish Roland would at least work with Dave Smith or Korg to reissue the Juno. It's ridiculous that this far into the analog synth revival, we still don't have one of the most wanted reissues. There should be a Juno reissue with a button to switch between [6/60] and [106]. And the ability to choose how many voices in the unison mode, etc. Basically the Prophet Rev 4 concept but a Juno. Maybe you all are allergic to money, but if you released a "Roland Juno Rev 4" similar to the Prophet Rev 4 concept, you would have so many sales that the factories would be overwhelmed with production. If you don't have the infrastructure to develop these, work with a company who does... but you WILL get sales (me included). I don't want software in a box, I want reissues of the original analog chips (but modern and more reliable), in the original Juno-60 design (full sized, 5 octave, wood sides.. the works). Do a limited run if you have to... but you really should not squander your ownership of such a wonderful product. There's a reason almost EVERY studio you see a photo of has a Juno-60 somewhere. Take a hint, and finally end the endless "RIP Roland" comments that have been all over UA-cam since 2012.
The people who are in charge are so stubborn. I am sure the rest of the Roland corporation employees read these comments and feel the same as you and I feel. Bring back analog! And not cheesy ripoffs with 256 voices of polyphony. Wtf. And then all the models inside and claiming not to chase ghosts.. Mygod.. I hope some brave employees are going to step up and end this digital nonsense.
@@demonicsweaters Sorry, that's software too. "ACB" is a software/DSP system they've developed to imitate analog behavior and tone by emulating the individual components, but in software.

This synth sounds really amazing, it really brings all the heritage of Roland in one box and what a heritage, the sounds that shaped the whole music industry, and of course endless sonic possibilities with ZenCore and by stacking the legacy ones. The only complain is that the workflow is far from being the most straightforward I've ever seen (like 5 or 6 function layers for the same 16 buttons, seriously ?). I find myself battling with the Xm in quite some occasions. Definitely a bit of firmware enhancements and a good series of official tutorials would help us make this product shine. Especially, I believe you should make it simple in the panel to set it for external control over midi very quickly (like a global setting of channels per part, receiving notes/CC and program change, I don't know), so that we can rock it easily with a larger MIDI keyboard/controller/sequencer. For now I feel I have to deal with several minutes specific MIDI/keyboard split setup each time have an idea that goes beyond the mini-keyboard. Get Jupiter-X you would say, but 17Kg is too heavy/large for my mobility/space constrains, approx the size/slightly heavier than my Juno DS61 would have been perfect. I hope if you post tutorials/tips, it will also help me in enhancing my workflow with it in the meantime.
Im interested in this for a mobile studio setup. I produce in my car with mpclive mk1 stand alone, mpk keyboard mk1, and korg volca fm. Everything is battery powered. This would replace the volca and mpk. Is there anything else out that would compete with the jupiter xm that's battery powered?
I'm also interested in this new battery revival world. hehe. Watching this thread if anybody chimes in someday. :) I love my yamaha dx for part of my "unplugged" jamming
What about Jupiter 4 (JP-4) sounds? THATs what I want! I'm so sad I sold my old JP4 many years ago, but it would be much better to have it in a modern device with MIDI and battery powered! So is it available in an upgrade/patch/expansion/module/software? or when will it?
I was looking for haters comments from Behringer fanclub. Over time I have switched my ministudio to all Roland products. Why? Why not: MX-1 TR-8 SH-01A (x2) TB-03 Boss Blues Drive - Jupiter Xm looks really nice synth and great addition to my list, however, this moment the price is little high for me, but I like the product. Would like to see how solid the keys are. Thank you Roland for bringing us nice sounding and flexible synths! Does not matter if it is emulation or not until it is good quality, sounds good and performs as required - and Roland products are really one of the most high quality thats why they cost more.

effegee7 yeah, it’s just how they call their new Synthesizer Engine. Great presentation!! Quick question, been figuring out this for a while…how did you assign DJFX to the modwheel? In fact, where can I assign different functions to mod wheel in settings? (it seems locked on typical vibrato - pitch mod)?
Well, he said it's a tremolo organ. Bank 7, patches 107-108. If you are not satisfied, add tremolo effect and then try different e. organ patches with it.
