- Gladys Knight & The Pips (Merald "Bubba" Knight, Edward Patten and William Guest) had the BEST stage presentation of just about any act in the Rock/Soul Music era! Couple that with their incredible vocals and you have one of the all time great groups.
Here they are performing their 1969 smash hit "Friendship Train" live. The written and produced by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong, the lyrics are timeless.....
The fact that those brothas did all that high stepping on that little circle their dancing on. WOW !
That was back in the days where you had to be good! You had to be able to sing, dance and perform with expertise.
The queen and her court= Gladys Knight and the Pips. I just had to say, they showed out, as old as this is I actually got goosebumps.
Wow love this version. No matter how long ago she performed this song. The message in this song still lives. Thanks for sharing.
Didn't know William Guest had such a great voice. No wonder why the background vocals are so on point.
One of the best soul performance I've heard. Staggering !
What a SHOW....... Gladys is killing this song...........GO GIRL ..she has me jumping out of my chair !!!!!!!! The PIPS could give the Temps a run for the money with their " STEPS"...What a GREAT GROUP !!!!!!!
No doubt. The Pips were highly underrated. The could dance sing and everything. They would definitely give the Temps a run for the money.
Just GREAT!!! Awe!!!! Love! Wow
Could that stage be ANY smaller? Get it Pips!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Step Bubba Step !
to see them perform live was a real treat. Pips were some stepping brothas
This what today's kids will never be treated to - A real performance with real singers who were doing it for the love of music. Big difference. Today's music sucks!
That was athe choreography of my grandfather Mr. Cholly Atkins
