Thanks for new information but we will be visiting a month before initiation. So will keep this in mind for future and pass on the info to friends and family who plan to visit in the near future
I’m coming for Carnevale this year for the first time and am glad I don’t have to add one more item to the pile of stuff I have to plan for when traveling. I appreciate your videos so much! They are so informative and it is clear you work very hard on these videos.
Thank you so much for this video, it was very useful! We're visiting Venice in the beggining of May, our accomodation is in Mestre, and we thought we also have to pay the entry fee. I just registered successfully for the voucher on the Venezia Unica website!
Thank you for all the information 🙏 I will be staying in Venice from May 4th till the 10th. I will ask my B&B, if they will arrange this QR code for me for the first two days!!
You two are the best! I just found your channel and sub'd. We're heading to Italy in a couple of months and Venice is one of our quick stops. I will be pouring thru all your videos today and tomorrow. Thank you much for your very descriptive and in-depth videos. ♥
Thank you! As i do my own research can you recommend a link where you can purchase a single ticket that will get you into all the museums in Venice. We are visiting for 10 days in April 2025. Grazia! Maria
Hi Maria, thank you for your comment! The official website www.veneziaunica.it is your best bet to buy transport and museum passes. Just FYI, the entry ticket will be activated again starting April 18, we'll keep the channel posted about all the details! Enjoy your trip!
Great info! I will be in Venice mid September, so I went to the website and it says that the registration period has closed. Does that mean I don’t need the voucher during this time?
Great video! Wanted to ask how I can buy skip the line passes for certain sites. Is this possible from the official town website or what is the best way? My plan was to buy an adult city pass - all day and also an ACTV 24 hour ticket. I think this covers everything I need, but I would also like skip the line passes. What is your recommendation? Thank you very much for your help! You guys make great videos! The most informative I have watched.
Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, as far as we know, the only way to skip the line is to book a guided tour. There's no skip-the-line option that can be purchased from the official Venezia Unica website.
I can understand the need for an access fee but to have to enter all of the personal details DOES border on WWII - type controls. No need to have to input names, etc. What is the reason for having to enter personal info??
It's actually in line with what already happens whenever you stay in a hotel, and your ID is copied and sent to the police station for security records. Or when a foreigner enters the US (for example) and has their photo and fingerprints recorded in the system. It's also in line with events such as concerts in Italy, where each ticket is personal and you need to give all that personal info if you want access to the event.
Thank you for the informative video. You did however touch on one point which did not make it clear to us if we need a voucher or not. We will be staying at an airbnb on Murano for the last week of April and we are planning on visiting old Town Venice many times taking the Vaporetto. Do we have to have voucher as well. Many thanks in advance.
Hi, thank you for your comment. Yes, you need an "exemption" voucher because you will be staying within the municipality of Venice. Check out our latest video to see the step-by-step procedure for requesting that specific voucher.
This was excellent information, I followed the link for an exception but the phone number I was supposed to call was in valid. Do you have any information on getting this corrected. My wife and I arrive on 12 May and leave 16 May so we need a pass for 1 day
Hi, thank you for your comment. Have you checked our latest video, where we show the step-by-step procedure? The number is indeed invalid, but its only purpose is to verify your phone number, so as soon as you've placed the call, the website page should refresh and show the vouchers. Hope this helps!
How do we get a voucher/ticket/qr code for entry if we are paying for a hotel or Air B&B? My understanding is, if you are staying in Venice this access fee is charged by the Hotel already.
You're correct! As we say in the video, the hotel or Airbnb should send you the qr code via email at the time of booking; if they don't, ask them whether they'll provide it upon arrival or whether you need to take care of that yourself (following the instructions in the video).
I have just applied for the Venice Exemption Pass as I am stay 4 nights. However one of the weirdest things when you put in your details is they want your Date of Birth. However you can't just type in your birth date you have to use the calender to put in the date. As I was born in 1962 you have to spend a long time pushing the back button to get back to that date. Could the authorities rectify this point.
I'm not sure, but I think you can click on the year and go back by decades? I can't remember exactly. I wouldn't hold my breath for authorities to fix that any time soon 😬
As far as we know, yes, that's correct. Random checks at key locations (Piazzale Roma, train station etc) by recognizable inspectors/police officers wearing florescent vests - but these details could change, we'll update as more info becomes available.
I am staying at an airbnb in Venice for a couple of nights. If I’ll be in Venice in April but will be flying out of Venice before April 26th do I still need to submit for an exception? Or voucher?
The first day of implementation is April 25th, so if you're in town on that day, yes, you need to apply for an exemption. In our new video we walk through the application step by step: ua-cam.com/video/-SKxfmohAJw/v-deo.html
I was unable to contact the phone number provided to get the QR code after I entered my information online. It actually said that the person is not available. Is this a common problem? I am going in June 2024 and was calling from Canada.
Hi, this is interesting, what phone number were your provided? Not sure we're familiar with any phone number to be called to complete the procedure (it could be quite expensive for foreign tourists, too!)
We've just published an update where we go through the whole procedure, hope it helps: Venice Access Fee - How to Register: Step-by-step ua-cam.com/video/-SKxfmohAJw/v-deo.html
Hi, I was able to do the exemption fee since I’m going be staying in Venice for two days (in a hotel )until the last page but then it doesn’t let me dial the number from my confirmation from number any ideas or suggestions? I did contact my hotel and they told me I had to do it myself and then I should contact the Venice municipality directly because they were the one that invented the system.
Quoting several people working in the tourism field, the whole entry fee implementation is a mess! We're planning on testing the system ourselves and make a video about it, to see if it prompts us to call a number - stay tuned!

Very cool video, but actually about nothing. Venice is Disneyland! I was in Venice in February this year, and I paid for: Transport from Treviso airport to Treviso Station 4 euros per person + train ticket from Treviso to Venice Santa Lucia, for accommodation in a private apartment + for 3 days of stay 54 euros of tax! + entrance tickets to St. Mark's Basilica + to see the golden altar + for touring the roof + for visiting the bell tower + for Vaporetto + for visiting the church + for touring the Doge's Palace - huge amounts - and in the evening Venice is a ghost town, nobody lives here, it gets scary. I sincerely do not recommend this place to visit. After the introduction of the tickets mentioned in the film, it will become a real Italian mess. Grrr.
We're sorry this was your experience. That's why we encourage our viewers to plan well in advance (and hopefully, our videos facilitate just that) in order to save money with advance tickets and museum passes, but also in order to be prepared for what the costs will be. As for Venice by night, we love to walk around when the city is deserted (we show that in our "Venice on foot" video) because it happens to be one of the safest places to walk, especially at night.
Thanks for new information but we will be visiting a month before initiation. So will keep this in mind for future and pass on the info to friends and family who plan to visit in the near future

Thank you so much, enjoy the fee-less Carnevale!
Thank you! This was well done and extremely helpful. I’m happy I came across it as I’m visiting and staying soon.😊

I think it is a good idea to protect the city and also to ensure that you are supporting the local economy.
Thank you very much for sharing this information. I will be in Venice end of this April.

Thank you for the excellent instructions. We will be staying in Venice this June.
Excellent video and so helpful, visiting in July so thank you both for this!!

Hi, yes, that's correct. The experimentation for 2024 ended in July.
Great information! Thanks for your thorough explanation!
Still need the QR code even if staying at a hotel correct? Just don’t have to pay correct? But site does not recognize and no email to send to rectify

Thank you so much !
So going to Venice for 2 nights on weekdays weds to friday means I dont need to do anything??
Yep, that's correct!
@@NomadCitello thank you.😊
How is this enforced, will tourist's be randomly stopped on the street by inspectors?
As far as we know, yes, that's correct. Random checks at key locations (Piazzale Roma, train station etc) by recognizable inspectors/police officers wearing florescent vests - but these details could change, we'll update as more info becomes available.
