That was absolutely amazing! And I'm assuming the one gentleman who broke down in tears was unhoused, so I was really glad to see that he won the $80 and you threw in an extra $20 ❤️
Gents this was just heartwarming. The joy when people recognized a song, and that poor old guy made me tear up from his genuine gratefulness. Well done, Scott and Ian. 🙌
Nobody in the comments is talking about the bass lines though. Yeah these are definitely iconic bass lines, and what I think is the most interesting thing about this video is that the average person, as this video shows, do know these iconic bass lines because these are songs that are made by the bass line. I bet if you did the same thing with guitar solos you'd have a higher failure rate (except for guitarists). So despite the fact that most people probably never think about the bass line, they are definitely aware of it. It's a gratifying video to watch for all us bassists!
You are so right, until I started watching these guys and picked up a bass, I didn’t realize that a lot of the music I loved was because of the bass… I have seen the light 🤗
The bass also fills a rhythmic role and non-musicians don’t really seem to remember bass lines as ‘notes’ so much. But when they hear the rhythm and the notes of a solo bass line their brains now have two ways of recalling the song, so it works.
OK just for fun, I’m gonna say Ian was putting too much swing into Obla Di😊 it sounded more like Boogie On Reggae Woman to these ringing ears…I think Sir Paul played it straighter. Love you guys, can’t believe nobody offered to keep going! Would you consider that for the next one? Would be pretty engaging if someone gets to the “Unreleased Brian Eno” level 😂
You see people do these things all the time and they can be cringe, yet I started this knowing Scott and Ian would emerge as the enthusiastic and thoroughly decent guys we know they are. At the end, I couldn’t be more proud of both of you
Some people might think this is nothing but giving a smile on street performing music of any instrument or sing with it are priceless!!! Last guy on red shows it all with that tears, we need this kind of thing on streets. For sure on that time they forgot all their problems and things they worry about... for that moment they had fun and thats what we aiming for is to have fun with others :) have a great day to all!
Theres just something seing scott in public that just cheers me up😅 the way of him talking british in las vegas is kinda funny, not to mention when he was screaming every time someone got it righr😅… massive thanks for making this kind of content, stay hard😅
Any of these takes could end up in an album recording. The way Ian plays so immaculate and musical any given time is amazing. Much respect to the dude omg!
Such a refreshing and heartwarming episode. It's fun to see a bunch of people just having a good time. And of course great interpretation on the bass and a great stingray sound.
I don't think so, I think this was last year. I'm pretty sure those people at the beginning said "we're going to see the "Love" show tonight" which was was a Beatles tribute show at Cirque Du Soleil in Vegas that finished playing July 2024. So I think it was probably last summer if I heard correctly
Damn I wish we would have known you were gonna be in town!! The Bass Channel is always down to be Tour Guides in our little City of Low End Love!!!! cool stuff!
That was great…you cats are somethin’ else! ♥ You have also scorched in memory a beautiful lucky day in that man’s life that he will forever remember for as long as he lives to tell the tale.
Wish I had been there to watch in person … very cool idea. I liked that you guys picked lines that were easy to recognize - i.e., you designed it for people to have fun and win. I'm glad I'm an SBL subscriber and hope that some of my tuition went to support this.
Please, please do more of these. I showed this to my (nearly) 10-year old, and now he wants more. Also, he got all the songs (but a couple after the person in the video guessed it) other than the Journey song...Please do more, this was soooo nice. I mean, there are a lot of other cities, and tons of potential songs....
What a wonderful moment! The folks you encountered (well…maybe not so much the sunglassed, ponytailed, graying lass with a hint of hidden diva…) were fun, you both are so gracious and welcoming. However, the real star of the show is that wicked green Music Man by Ernie Ball instrument! 🙏🏽✌🏽💜 from Minnesota
That was fun, and I like that you were giving them enough time and hints. Not so much about winning the money but enjoying the little game. John Donaly was great from the start haha, what a man! I am so glad for him
This is brilliant! One day I'll try this in Calgary Alberta Canada. Of course I'll have to hand out looneys 😂. And mention this was Scott and Ian's idea. Give credit where credit is due!
I truly love Scott and Ian who I both consider mentors, although we have never met. What a super cool video. To give that guy an extra 20 dollars was beyond anything. Thanks for playing my go-to bass line, Come Together. I drive my bandmates crazy whenever I break that one out...which is often!
This video made my day . What a great idea , what a great result . So different from all the other videos 🎉 The guy in the red top nearly had me in tears 🎉I’m a bass player so well done gents
There’s something very magical happening here fellas. You should deeply consider taking this to another level. Many other comments are already saying this. So im just adding to the sentiment to push it forward.

Yep, still crying 3 minutes later. Scott and Ian, you truly are great human beings, just as he said...

No! 😭😭
And I almost teared up when dude starts crying. There’s no down and out like a Las Vegas down and out!
Me too! That dude needed that win!
I straight up teared up. Came for the bass lines, stayed for the wholesome hugs.
Me too. Crazy. And great 😀

@@p.o.3889 Same here!
Everyone watching this video wishing they were there to bankrupt Scott and Ian. 😂
😂
What by winning $80? Jeez times are hard for online bass spammers and online bass spammer sidekicks
Amen! Then I’d borrow the Stringray and try them at their own game 😅
What a blast!
@@harrysutton8998 I bet the long winter evenings just fly by

Unless they play it with the same tone people wont get it even if its note by note.
The bass also fills a rhythmic role and non-musicians don’t really seem to remember bass lines as ‘notes’ so much. But when they hear the rhythm and the notes of a solo bass line their brains now have two ways of recalling the song, so it works.

yes.....but without the pick
It´s incredible what music and a pair of excelent human beings can do. Thanks for this guys 💙
Appreciate the warm words, we really enjoyed doing this!
True!!
Aw man, what a perfect video! These 7 minutes really flew. Also, that gentleman needed some fun and human interaction as much as he did the money.
The lady singing the whole song just to guess come together was definitely me with obla di obla da 🤣
For obla di obla da the first thing that came to mind was Legend of John and Yoko and I thought that's too out there. I had to sing it through also!
You see people do these things all the time and they can be cringe, yet I started this knowing Scott and Ian would emerge as the enthusiastic and thoroughly decent guys we know they are. At the end, I couldn’t be more proud of both of you

He's Scottish though, isn't he?
Really interesting how some people think while talking and some think in silence. I’m a silence guy - and people talking while I think drives me nuts!
Maybe you're on the spectrum
Wow! You guys made that older guy with the red long sleeve shirt cry. He was so happy with that $100. You two are some cool dudes.🙂👍
OMG, That was so heartwarming, it made me cry! You guys are the best.
🧡🧡🧡
Dudes, one of the most entertaining thing I’ve watched on UA-cam. There’s a show in this… more please
Ian's sense of time is superb. Great vid. Never thought I'd see you guys do a video like this.
Brilliant! The extra 20 guy made me cry 😭 Beautiful energy. Thank you!
Utterly brilliant! The joy of music and human beings actually interacting with each other. Can’t beat it (‘scuse the pun)!
Agreed
Y'all were too sweet with all the hints. So cool, y'all are the best.
Or...
y'all are the BASS!
Thanks so much; I "guessed", I "laughed" - then I "cried" at the end with the guy with the white goatee and red shirt; thanks so much!
All the feels for John at the end. Lovely that you threw in 20 on top.

This was so cool!
This needs to be a weekly segment. Have Sharon, Scott, and Scott do them on their own in their home city areas.

What an awesome video and a surprising tearjerker to boot. Great job, so fun!!!
Best video yet
1:55 Thriller☠ John Donnely from Maryland, what a beautiful human being.
Slightly disappointed that when Ian played under pressure, not one person started in with ‘Alright stop, collaborate and listen…’🤣🤣
I thought at least 1 person was going to say, " ice ice baby "
Ice is back with a brand new invention. ...Although to be honest-- "back"? I didn't know that he existed before that.
