      John Lucas thanks man! One thing to note is that I spliced into the map sensor boost reference in this video. It worked but I could definitely tell it was causing some slight throttle RPM hang. I removed the intake manifold and tapped into it when I did the ribbon delete. Now it has no low rpm hang issues.

    So on tapping into the map sensor... I did the same but found out from Jerry at GreenHulk the below question answered I had about tapping into the sensor signal.
    Always drill and tap the manifold to install a blow off valve. Never tap into the map sensor hose for the BOV as this throws off the signal the MAP sensor sends the ECU while the BOV is actuating which in turn throws off fueling. The BOV needs its own dedicated boost reference source.
    Just a tip cause I don’t want any breakdowns out there. I know what it feels like to be stranded in the middle of the river😏

      I addressed this in other comments. I actually rode it for a while without tapping the manifold to see if there was any issues with performance. The only issue that arose was the RPM would hang around 3k when blipping the throttle and letting off quickly. Tapped the manifold and that went away.

    On my Turbosmart blow off valve I have two outlets, one on the end and one on the side!! I'm assuming that that is giving you the option to come off the end, or off the side to your map sensor, because I didn't get a banjo fitting in my kit!! I got a straight fitting and a cap screw that I assume you use to cap the air hole off that you will not be using!!

    • @SaltyDogPerformance
      @SaltyDogPerformance  3 роки тому

      Sounds like your map sensor isn’t getting enough air flow. I did have issues with the RPM hanging a little when quickly blipping the throttle. Once I did the ribbon delete I tapped the manifold for boost reference and now have zero issues. I never had the issues you are experiencing.

      @@joserodriguez-ej2bh it’s best to go ahead and do the ribbon delete while the manifold is off. Taking the manifold off is a little bit of a process. Just note that if you do the ribbon delete, you will need to add an air intake that has a flame arrestor filter.

    Did you notice the BOV is open some at idle? This is not good!!!!

    • @SaltyDogPerformance
      @SaltyDogPerformance  4 місяці тому

      That’s incorrect. Supercharger blow off valves always use a light spring to allow it to stay open at idle and lower speeds when no boost is present. You have to make sure that the valve isn’t completely open because then they creates a lag in throttle response. However, it needs to be open a little at idle. If you have too tight of a spring then the valve won’t open properly. The key is to get it to open even if you only have a small amount of boost that needs to be blown off. This ensures that no boost is left in the pre throttle body side one the throttle body closes.

    • @SaltyDogPerformance
      @SaltyDogPerformance  4 місяці тому

      Turbochargers are different, but that’s because they don’t have positive pressure generated at idle because the wastegate is open. The blow off valve doesn’t have to be open because of this.
