  • "How To" video number 23: Frontside 180 aka FS 180
    This trick has been requested since I started making how to videos but I never got around to it because I had made the quick tips about 180s. I decided to finally get a legitimate full how to frontside 180 out there.
    I'm sorry if it's not as comprehensive as you'd like, I have been busy with vacation and homework, but I tried to fit this video in real quick!
    The main things to take away from this are:
    Rotate your shoulders
    Shift your weight to your front trucks to roll away correctly
    Frontside 180 Quick Tips:
    • Quick Tips Ep. 1: Fron...
    As always, good luck with this one! You definitely can learn it if you try.
    If you need any specific help just leave a comment and I'll try my best to explain things more.
    Thank you for watching!

    When he gave the first tip to shift your weight to the front I figured I’d try that out real quick. I did the Ollie while shifting my weight forward and turning my whole body and landed the FS 180 right on that try...

      @EthanHofton 4 роки тому +4

      Same thing happened to me, after shifting my weight in the 180 it just clicked and landed it in a few more tries. In all my time watching Braille don’t think I’ve heard this tip before

Thank you for making this videos they help unreal amounts

    After 10 plus years of not being on a board I decided to try and pick it up again. I loved skating as a kid but was never very good and frontside 180s always eluded me (I thought backsides were easier but they are NOT). Anyways, once I saw how you angle your back foot I was able to get them around! Then I realzied that harder and faster you pop the tail the easier the trick becomes. Now I can get them pretty high and smooth! thanks for all your time man, you really are helping a lot of people!

    • @seal6565
      @seal6565 5 років тому +1

      Deagle760 You’re supposed to pop them straight down and do a late 180 if you want to get them high. My first 180s were shuv its body varial, that’s why I can’t do them over anything, so I learned to do it the proper way where you do an ollie 90 then just pivot the rest mid air.

  • @ariekanibalie
    @ariekanibalie 7 років тому +14

    not too sure about the suggestion to scoop the tail, personally, but this just goes to show there's many ways to do or think about doing even the most basic tricks. It might seem more difficult if you're just starting out to pop straight down, but that'll teach you to pop a good ollie and rotate your upper body correctly. Again, there's no rules, so whatever works for you, but I'd rather work on popping my 180s high and save the scoop for FS bigspins.

    • @VLSkate
      @VLSkate  7 років тому +4

      Arno Theadorno yeah i know what you mean, for these easier tricks i try to over-emphasize some of the movements for beginners because chances are they'll probably try popping more like an ollie anyway. it's like when you keep telling someone to flick out for a kickflip but they still flick down. i struggle sometimes between what the trick is actually like and what steps i think should be exaggerated to help a beginner

    The key to successfully executing this and the backside is really the 180 revert. Once you comfortable with your ollie, it's not that hard to do, just really the full rotation the hardest.
