Thank you for this video. As someone who has almost no experience teaching anything with technology and will now be a completely virtual teacher this video was a godsend. Thank you for making every step simple to understand
By far BEST explanation out there how to do a BITMOJI. I am not tech savvy and I was able to follow step by step and by end of this video I have a BITMOJI classroom! Thank you!
OMG, thank you so much for posting this video. It has been a life saver. I'm a new school counselor, and I'm not the best with technology. Your tutorial really did help me set up my Google classroom with the bitmojis. Thank you so much!!
Hey there, great tutorial! At 12:25, the screenshot. Instead a screenshot, try saving the base scene as a JPEG or PNG file (click File, scroll down to Download, select JPEG or PNG (current slide). That way the image doesn’t start to blur as you mentioned when you insert it as a background.
I love to save as a PDF, then use PDF Candy website, PDF --> JPEG, and then upload the new JPEG as the background. My slides have been much clearer since using PDF Candy! More steps, but worth it in my opinion!
Edi, you sound tech savy...might I ask a question. I did the screenshot of my base scene, but when I go back in to add links, extras etc. the blue sizing/move box is around the entire base scene. I was able to delete if I wanted. Yikes! Will the students be able to do this as well? Did I miss a step? Thanks in advance for your time/assistance.
@@phyllisposimato129 you might just need to make sure that you're adding your base scene image in as a Background (not just inserting the image on the slide). Once it's a background it can't be moved/changed
Very clear and quick. Love your table of contents, it was so helpful! We are heading into week 9 distance learning and this will be exciting for the kids !
Yes, you can do your bitmoji on your computer by adding the bitmoji Google Chrome extension. And you can edit your own wording using the Google Chrome extension on your computer. I enjoyed your tutorial! Very easy! Great job! Love your classroom!
I've challenged my staff to create a summer learning page (my amazing librarian tech. teacher is helping of course) and she shared your video with our staff. I have 40 of 52 certificated teachers, my office staff and my assistant principal and I completed already. This is amazing and will be a fun way to keep our kids engaged during this never ending summer break! Thanks!!!
Thanks a million for sharing this. I was worried about trying this as my school went into remote learning two months ago, but they look so cute and fun, so I wanted to try it. Your step by step tutorial makes it very easy. :)
I chose this tutorial because it appears that you posted it on my birthday. Thanks to your easy to follow instructions, I just finished the first of many Bitmoji Classroom Slides! Have a great school year!
Thank you, especially for not assuming everyone is computer savvy bc that’s an issue I’m having with a lot of videos I’ve been trying to learn DL from. 😀
Truly and honestly... thank you for this video! Made the whole process easy and less overwhelming! Been putting this off for over a week, but once I found your video it was nothing !
Thank you for moving slowly and in a calm manner! So many videos are at such a frantic pace and assume so much prior knowledge, I can’t keep up! This was perfect!
I am so glad to have found your video. It is so easy to follow. I haven't added links yet, but am very pleased with what I have done so far. Thank you!
Hi Christie! I actually have another video about making this classroom more interactive, check it out! I use Google Forms to take attendance and have it in my virtual classroom slides :). It's all explained there.
Thank you so much! Making my own classroom has made me feel a little better about not being in my regular classroom with my students. Your explanation is perfect and easy to follow. I appreciate you.
Thank you so much! I have wanted to do this for a couple of months but it felt daunting! Your step by step, easy peasy, video helped me so much!! You Rock!!!
Here’s a little help for you guys: Creating your Bitmoji - 0:40 Adding background - 1:49 Adding furniture - 3:57 Adding wall art & whiteboards - 7:51 Adding videos - 10:23 DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! - 12:19 Adding links - 14:16 Adding Bitmoji - 16:15
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for walking me through this! You are a Godsend! Our district provided a video training that was so hard to follow. But yours was perfect and made it easy peasy. Thank you!!!!
In reference to 14:16, instead of having to screenshot the slide so that the students don't move the images around, can't you just go into the sharing settings and choose "view only" so they cannot edit the slides?
For me- it's a personal preference to lock the images in. When I am adding links and other interactive tools, I often get frustrated because I'm always moving the wrong thing or deleting objects instead of links. It also prevents any issues with layering, sometimes the transparent parts of images can lay over links and prevent access. It really is just something that I like for my own use, to each their own though! :)
I love this tutorial so much. I watched twice and now I’m not overwhelmed. I purchased the slide to save myself a ton of time getting started with a new position and moving to a new country - that background is ideal for my style as well as a new third grade classroom. Maybe later I’ll find time to make virtual classrooms as well but for now I’m glad to have this quick start 👏
I LOVE the idea of the bitmoji classroom. But I'm having a hard time envisioning how this is used. Do you post the entire series of slides in your Google classroom? If so, where do you post it; in the class stream or as an assignment?? Do students view it in "presentation" mode? When you make changes to a slide to you have to re-post all slides or does it automatically update?
This is my question too. I don't know where these actually go. I love the idea but what to completely understand how it works before I spend all the time creating one.
OMG! Thank you so much for the walkthrough of how to begin the bitmoji classroom! This was literally the first video I pulled up...and I've already learned so much...and now am "obsessed" with learning more. Best wishes to a great school year! :)
Katherine, first Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, Quick question, when you share this with your students, are you sharing as a google slide show and clicking "Can View" for students or are you sharing as a .pdf, thanks
I share the slides on our Google Classroom stream for students to view! I pull it right from my drive and upload. You can also use the link generated for sharing "view only"
okay i am NEW to this--all of it--and you tube too. This is a GREAT tutorial--Ive gotten started. You mentioned that you would "link" some of your slide's backgrounds, etc that your bitmoji wasn't built into. WHERE do i find those?
THANK YOU!! I was looking for "how to" and your video is the easiest to follow. I want to see more of your instructions. You are a great Teacher to Teachers. THANK YOU!!
Pretty informative, thank you. I'm actually using Windows Edge and I got the Bitmoji extension installed on the Edge. Windows edge can now add extensions from the Chrome Webstore. Thanks for the lesson. It really helped. Have a good year!
Thanks so much for dragging me into the 21st Century for my classroom! The Pandemic has made it impossible to just keep doing the same thing that I have been doing for over two decades, and I appreciate your approach and thoughtful presentation!!
Very good and precise information on how to create your slides. Very easy to follow along. I will be subscribing to your channel to learn more from your journey. Thank you for sharing!
Outstanding, Katherine! This tutorial has made my day! Great instructions regarding little details, and I'm looking forward to surprising my class on Monday when they log in. I'm definitely subscribing to your link to enjoy future lessons!
I love it, love it, love it. I need so much help in making virtual classes fun. The students are not always engaged, so I can't wait to try this. Thank you so much.
Wow a million thanks! I absolutely loved everything you had to say and the ease with which you taught it! Feeling confident that I can do it! Thanks again from an OT working in special education with kids in Cobb County! Much appreciated!
Thanks! This has been a great help! We are not able to use the Bitmoji classroom per se, due to Accessibility issues, but I have used the instructions for how to create the image using Google slides many times for myself and helping others. I really appreciate the table of contents at the beginning, too.

How do I do all of this on an ipad
This was the best tutorial. You were super slow and very easy to follow. Most go through so fast! Great job
Thanks a million for sharing this. I was worried about trying this as my school went into remote learning two months ago, but they look so cute and fun, so I wanted to try it. Your step by step tutorial makes it very easy. :)

Thank you for this! I'm creating one because, as Olaf says, "I'm controlling what you can when things feel out of control."
Been searching for someone to explain how to save your background for the things that you don't want moved in your virtual classroom. OMG!! Thank you.
Yes! It can be so frustrating when things get moved out of place and accidentally deleted. So happy to share the tip :)
@Donna Everard My question too!
I am so glad to have found your video. It is so easy to follow. I haven't added links yet, but am very pleased with what I have done so far. Thank you!

Mission4Walls TPT Let me know where you purchased this slide from that you’re mentioning please. I need it too! Is it on TpT?
Jim Higgs it’s in the info description of this video. Katie loaded it to her TPT.
Where did you find that beautiful alphabet border in your background on the first slide? I loved this tutorial - very helpful! Thank you!
