So quick update, company is worth 6 million now, which means he got back his 300 thousand now in company worth because of his 5%, also anual sales are at 1.9 million, and 3 percent of that is 60k. So not too bad

That's literally the most emotional story ever (not to mention the guy has narrated it so peacefully without making extra fuss), which I bet has left most of us in tears like Mr Wonderful

The fact that Mark and Kevin were helping him negotiate says a lot. Also, first time I see Kevin in tears.

I love that both Kevin and Mark were helping him. Kevin just knows business so well, and he always made the deal clear, in this case, even helped Mike understand the potential outcomes.
Kevin has been driving speedboat drunk, crushed it, killed the guy and put it on his sober wife and got away with it. He should be crying for that.
Which makes both Mark and Kevin an interesting Shark!

He believed in the valuation but the investor didn’t. Think of it this way - Lori valued the company at a $1M, and he accepted it and sold the company. Immediately after, he bought 5% for the 300k. Lori already recovered almost half her investment

His brain works faster than he can talk lol, he definitely rambles. Smart to retain 5% though, even though he probably could’ve worked Lori back up to $800,000. Kudos to him

Doesn't really matter. He sold a company which was loosing money year over year for 700k and still maintained 5% equity + 3% royalties, what else would you need? He's made for life.

Man, he could’ve counter 900k. Hope the company is going strong and keeping his father's legacy alive.
That's why he's there. He doesn't have the business expertise to think on the fly like that. I also think he had no idea that a full buyout would even be on the table.
He could've but Lori was the only Shark left. He still got a good deal out of it!
Then Lori probably would have countered with 800k, he would have made an extra 100k. But in the end it doesn't really make that much of a difference if the business becomes worth multi-millions.
The company is now worth $6 million and doing really well.
9:48 I love how both Mark and Kevin is full on board trying to explain the outcome of Lori's deal to make sure this guy understands what he's getting into. I especially love Kevin's explanation about the royalties here. Just two nice experienced blokes trying to help out a new entrepreneur.

I usually roll my eyes at how everybody on here has some emotional story and then starts crying. But this time, I was the one that started crying. Sheesh what a moving story about his Dad. I'm glad that he held on to some of the company.

It was cool to see Lori trying out some of Barbara’s lines at the end on the video.
So now the Company is worth 6M+ , So now his 5% is worth the 300k difference in the deal. Thats awesome, and from now on that 5% has a chance at being ALOT more than the ~300k left on the table. + The royalty paycheck. This was a great negotiation even though he was quick to accept and not counter Loris 700K.
Looks like they both made a good decision. Time will tell.
