Thank you for sharing. I have seen a few videos from others besides you previous videos. This is the BEST quality video and explanation of techniques. May you have a happy and prosperous New Year!
This is the best video I have watched on how to clean the MAF Sensor and I am going to try and clean mine ,will get clearer and I hope it solves my problem .Thanks you sir for your explanation and the video !
Thank you for an excellent video. Very valuable tip that engine will initially idle high after cleaning and once computer learns new information from sensor idle will drop down to normal.
This happens to so many Toyota cars because people have always been told: You buy a Toyota and the only thing you have to do is put gas and change the oil, and that is exactly what they do, then you have neglected maintenance like in this Camry
You are talking about me. My 2003 Tacoma 280,000 Miles has original coolant and brake fluid. All the belts are original too. I couldn’t get “CRC mass air flow sensor cleaner “ anywhere these days. No Walmart, AutoZone, nor O’Reilly. So I am using something else O’Reilly guy recommended “Lectra Clean 3000” even though the can says “ Not for Automotive use”.
@@chonghwang8028 Driving around with 280,000 mile, 19-year-old coolant is hard to believe. Coolant becomes acidic with age; I'm surprised your car hasn't fallen apart yet.
@@chonghwang8028better change that serpentine belt. Whether you think you need to or not. There's got to be some small cracks in it. I've changed mine long ago. I have 175k on my Toyota FJ. I had to change the alternator about 3000 miles ago.
What a great video. My mass airflow sensor went bad because a stinkin squirrel made a nest inside my engine compartment of my brand new Toyota 4Runner and shoot through the wiring harness leading to the mass air sensor. I drove the car for a little over a month with a bad sensor and that made my mixture bad and dirty the heck out of my sensor. I had to buy a new connector and rewire it myself which wasn't that big of a deal but it still didn't fix it until I clean the mass air sensor. Just a note that you can have for yourself and give to your subscribers is how to keep squirrels out of your engine compartment. Buy some peppermint essential oil and put it in a spray bottle with water about 40 drops per 16 oz of water or a liter maybe is what you call it. Spray it all around your engine compartment and the squirrels will stay away. It works very well but you can't drive your car for about 10 minutes until that oil dries because your engine doesn't like burning peppermint oil
On my 2000 Corolla, this is easy to access an remove for cleaning. Use ONLY electronics cleaner spray ... NOT brake cleaner. The 2 small screws that hold the MAFS on are going into plastic, so be careful and loosen the screws to remove them with fingers and do NOT drop the screws. Set them aside safely for re-install. Do NOT forget the inside 2 wires to clean that are unseen inside the 'barrel' ! Clean them too ...and a MAF Sensor ic cheap to buy ... much like a PCV valve is cheap and easy to replace...
Awesome dear friend. Thank you so much for sharing how to clean MAF sensor. If you could show us the video about how that works after cleaning it. Thank you.
I find a quick spray and let it sit for a few moments to soften up the deposits then a final spray to wash uses a lot less spray. I've never used a half can on a MAF myself.
Did you do a video showing how the engine was working prior to cleaning the MAF sensor? It would be nice to see the difference in rpms before and after cleaning.
The visible wire on the outside that you are showing is the intake air temp sensor bulb. The smaller wire on the inside of the tube is the MAF wire. That’s the one that’s hard to see and really needs the cleaning.
Hi Fitzinya, I have a check engine on and it appears to be the MAF sensor error code after being scanned. It's a corolla 2000 and MAF has never been cleaned before. OEM part costs over $200, is it a must to replace it with OEM part only?
Nice! Going to clean my 08 Scion xB, lately the rpm go over 4k rpm on cold start hopefully this will help. Might also need to clean the throttle body if this not fixing it. Otherwise vehicle running fine just rpm go up high on cold start and after a few seconds or minute it's back to normal. Thanks for the tip.
Outstanding job, as always. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about different Toyota models and engines. Which ones perform better, reliability, ease of maintenance, etc. I've had a tundra for 19 years. Still runs good, but I'm not looking forward to replacing the starter if it ever goes bad.
Nice and very clear demonstration is perfect. Sir can i ask you if you have idea why my car innova deisel 2011 is not start even the fuel is good work but i think the injector is not work what is the possible cause or problem of this thank you very much
I cleaned mine on my 2019 Toyota Tundra..why do they put white paint over the top of the screws. Had to buy new screws…crazy. Thanks for sharing your videos
NOTE : Remove the O Ring before cleaning. The spray / chemical can cause the O ring to swell making the O ring very difficult to go back into the intake port. Use a small pick - carefully remove the O ring. Clean the MAF - dry and reinstall the O ring. Preferably wipe a thin layer of silicone grease on the O ring before re installation.
@@bebo5558 My statement is a generally good practice. When you work with as many different fluids and cleaners as I do - it's a general practice to remove o rings prior to prevent them from being damaged during cleaning.
I'm driving my sister's 2005 V6 Camry right now, and earlier got a check engine light with code P0174. Didn't hear any hissing, and car wasn't experiencing any sputtering or anything, so I pulled out the MAF Sensor, and sure as shit, it looked EXACTLY like the one in the video. Went to the auto parts store, bought a can of CRC for $11, and in 10 minutes, it was good as new!

@@yo-gx6gn No! Sadly.... I fixed it by replacing the intake manifold gasket. On the matrix, vibe and other Toyota's the gasket is flat and was a design fault. By replacing it the car runs perfectly again. Scotty kilmer has a video also called "Toyota won't fix this" or something similar.
