I just put a piece of tape on the bottom where the speaker is. Doesn't eliminate it, but makes it significantly quieter.

My EZGO is a 2017 and you cannot disconnect it or it will not run. You can muffle it and it's way better. It is located under the seat on the passenger side.

Muffling it is for sure the safer way to go! Thanks for the input.

I just disconnected the wire from the microswitch on the back of the forward/reverse knob on my 2012 EZGO TXT gasser... is there any issue doing it this way?

    • @GolfCartGarage

Thanks for watching, Greg! No issue our techs can think of with that other than the obvious not knowing what gear you're in without looking at the shift handle. Here's wishing you a quieter reverse gear!

Any insights on the location of the buzzer on a 2023 Valor? Sound is coming from under the front seat I believe.

Hello. I have not had the pleasure of having a 2023 Valor in my shop yet but I read on a Golf Cart Forum that if it is gas it is located on backside of shifter under the seat. If it is electric it is located behind the key like on older EZ-GO's.

1994 club car. My cows hear it and come running. I feed from the cart and need to be a bit more stealth so they dont run me over.

Here's the Club Car version we did! ua-cam.com/video/nulZSbTA33Y/v-deo.html
(yours, however, may be located under the seat)

Is it okay to disconnect both wires?

    • @GolfCartGarage
      @GolfCartGarage  Рік тому

Thanks for watching, Will! It won't hurt anything to pull both wires, but removing one will stop the buzzer from sounding. Let us know if you need more help! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934

I have one question; since my EZGo is used offroad only, and isn't set up for use on public roads anyway, do I need to be concerned about being stopped by the California Highway Patrol and arrested if I disconnect the backup horn? Just can't be too careful these days! Just to let you know, though, if somehow my horn comes unhooked by itself, I didn't watch this video. And thank you!

Thanks for watching! We're not 100% sure on that one. But, if you notice Erik Estrada secretly following you after this post... we recommend laying low for a while. We will disavow any knowledge of your mission. Godspeed.

@@GolfCartGarage My buzzer wire fell off all by itself last night. It could have been a rat chewed through it, but I'm going with it just fell off.
As a point of interest for anyone else this happens to, on my 2022 Valor, there is a big opening underneath the panel that looks right up into the area of interest, so there is no need to take out any screws.

There’s absolutely no reason to have this annoying buzzer on any golf car, you’d have to be dumb, deaf and blind not to see anyone behind you in a golf cart with no windows, no doors. If it’s so important to have this stupid buzzer they would be on every motor besides a plastic slow moving vehicle.

In principle... can't disagree with you, there. In practical application, though, we see people driving these around pets, children, the disabled, and the elderly. So, we always make sure to mention safety. Largely because the sound the buzzer makes is not half as bad as the sound a person makes while being run over by a golf cart.

Yeah, it's there because old drunk retirees who shouldn't be driving are the main demographic, but as a Security Officer these buzzers are annoying af.
