If your G29 is surging or takes off faster than normal it's very likely sticking motor brushes. Tapping the motor with light to medium whacks with a steel hammer will supply shock/ vibration to the brush holders. It's not going to hurt that heavy motor. You can get to it by lifting the seat , hit the passenger side end of the motor, Grey metal part with big wire going to it. Don't hit the wire connector on the motor. This fixed mine, brushes were sticking, if it does it again I will order brushes off amazon Yamaha part JU2-H1801-20-00
I have a 2017 Club Cart Presendt, one day it just stopped dead. I was told it is the on board computer, simI got a new one and installed it and yup my cart was moving again. But now it only goes about 6 m p h. I use to have about 16 or more. I installed a new speed sensor in the motor, no change, how can I increase the speed ??
👏👏
👏👏
I’m having trouble with my Club Cart, it stopped dead one day and the batteries are all good about 2 months old. I ended up with a new computer, now it runs OK but it is very slow, about a little more than a walking pace. I already put a speed magnet on the electric motor, no difference? I was concerning a hand held computer to increase the speed. Is there anything else I can do? I could really use some help. Thanks.😊
Thanks for watching! We'll have some follow up questions. It may require a visit to a dealership with a Club Car OEM diagnostic tool. However, you can get an appt for a video call diagnosis with our techs here: www.golfcartgarage.com/gearheads-on-demand/ or get in touch directly at Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
After I charge my 2015 club car I think it’s a ds. starts off good then it will slow down then speed up after awhile it will start chugging then takes off
Thanks for watching, Bill! A load test on the batteries would be a good idea. There could be a battery on its way out if you feel stuttering or possibly an issue with the MCOR potentiometer. Will I summit 2 Charger work on a two thousand eight club car. It's not working why.
Thanks for watching, Scott! Summit II can charge a 2008 Club Car. There needs to be enough battery power to activate the charger and the Summit must be connected directly to batteries or plugged into the cart with an OBC bypass kit installed. The Onboard version that connects to the batteries is here: www.golfcartgarage.com/golf-cart-battery-charger-36-48-volt-on-board-lester-electrical-summit-2/ Let us know if you have more questions. Great video. I have a 2017 RXV that runs sluggish/jumpy off the line and eventually goes into crawling limp mode. I’ve replaced both TPS and a speed sensor but still having the issue. Any ideas?

I have a 1995 Electric Ezgo 36v . Just had a soleoid, new batteries and cables put on. Now when I accelerate it takes off fast and jerks my head off. Do I need a new sensor?

Hi. I have a 2013 club car president. The batterys are 2021. When changing they bubble and have oder. Is this normal. Also my back lights keeps going out, when I test the volts at them lights it shows between 13- 18 volts. Is this my problem.
Thanks for watching, Scott! Charging results in heat, causing batteries to bubble and off-gas hydrogen which can have a sulfurous smell, this is normal. It's ideal to ensure you have good ventilation in your garage or storage area. Lights and accessories should only have 12V going to them. There should be a voltage reducer feeding 12V power to your lights. There may be an issue there, if voltage reducer is failing or not installed. Let us know if you need more help! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
@@GolfCartGarage I just bought a 2020 Club Car with new Trojan batteries T-875 and when I first plugged it in when bringing it home I got the bubbling effect(no odor) and of course when the charger stopped charging the bubbling stopped. The next day I played 18 holes.... plugged it in and no bubbling and it went through the complete cycle fine. I just wonder why it doesn't bubble all the time when charging? My old 2007 Club Car also had Trojan's and it never bubbled. Just curious.....
My EZ Go 36 volt cart stutters and looses power under stress ( up a small hill) . It will actually come to a stop . Could I have a bad battery ?
Thanks for watching! Especially if this power issue is a new development, a bad battery could be the cause. One way to tell would be a load test on those batteries. You can also voltmeter test before driving and then again when the failure occurs to see if one battery drops out more than the others. It may also be the age of the batteries in general or that the power of the cart in general is low for the weight and application if this has been an ongoing issue. Let us know if you have more questions! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934

I'm a 70 year old woman. I need help. My reverse and forward switch burn up. I have a 1988 Yamaha. But the guy before me had put a Easy go. forward and reverse switch on it. obviously cuz he couldn't find an 88 Yamaha's board and reverse switch. OK, I got a new one and replaced mine. They look exactly like I hooked him up. Illinois clicks, but the cart won't go forward and it will not go reverse Now, what any ideas please?
Thanks for watching! If the switch burned up, there may be other wiring issues or damage. We'll have some follow up questions. It’s 9 p.m my charge only last about two weeks was lasting longer.what could be wrong?
Thanks for watching, Carol! One battery with a failing cell could cause your charge not to last as long as it used to. It can also happen if your charger is not finishing its cycles due to a malfunction. Get in touch if you need more help! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
Have Yamaha 48 volt golf cart the other day when to move it heard a pop sound and cart lost power check batteries good started to go after that but quit again

My 2015 club president. Dies for a split second when I take off fast. Batteries are 4 years old they all read over 8 volts. Can you help?
Thanks for watching, Frank! If you just have a hesitation, but good run time, your batteries are likely OK. This may be a wiring issue or problem with the potentiometer (MCOR) on the cart. I've just replaced the drive belt recently, and it has sounded like it was slipping and failing to start a few times. I checked the belt and it seemed like it was a bit too loose. Is there a way to tighten the belt a little? I have the team style clutch.
Thanks for watching, Jesse! As you can see in our video, the belt should be loose enough to remove by hand while rolling the clutches. It will tighten when running when the clutches move. We usually don't see any issues with that unless ordered for the wrong model. Let us know if you have more questions or need more help. Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
It should be the correct belt, it was from the Yamaha distributor, but it seemed like it has way more slack on it than when I put it on. Every now and then, I would need to pump the accelerator to get it going as it was just squealing and not going anywhere, which made me check the belt again. Thanks for the video and the reply!
My EZGO is a 2017 and you cannot disconnect it or it will not run. You can muffle it and it's way better. It is located under the seat on the passenger side.
Muffling it is for sure the safer way to go! Thanks for the input.
Plugged in charger needle only moves a little bit and turns off and keeps cycling and won’t charge
Thanks for watching, Ron! That may be a bad battery or time to replace the charger. If you know someone with the same style charger, it might be good to try your charger on their cart. Also, a good idea to load test those batteries. Let us know if you need more help! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
Hi Tim my name is Mike I have a 2013 club car and it stopped working it has 48 volts to the batteries but nothing happens

I, of course, agree that the 36v with the charger not coming on may source to the battery bank not meeting the minimum voltage threshold but in my experience the Powerwise 2 charger has a high fail rate with the relay on the board. The relay is soldered to the pc board. The good news is that the board is constructed with two sections that are connected by three screws. The relay side of the board is available seperately and costs around $40 , meaning you dont need to pay for an entire board just because the simple relay failed. Its a very simple repair.... the trick is pigeonholing the source of your charger's failure to turn on to being that of its board relay. 🤓
We agree, Dale, thanks for the input! A good troubleshoot is to try that charger on another cart if possible.
Gas power Ezgo golf cart has excessive vibration on heavier accel. On light drive , no problem. Runs good at all times, just feel like vibration on accel is more than normal.
Thanks for watching, Larry! Sometimes this is a result of a lift, a governor adjustment, or a motor mount. You can get an appt for a video call diagnosis here: www.golfcartgarage.com/gearheads-on-demand/ or get in touch directly at Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
Are there rules against extending capacity by installing this?
That depends on what entity is making the rules. Regulations vary from state to state and even by city in our area. That said, generally, we've not seen cities or campgrounds that allow street legal carts making rules against rear seats so long as their seat belt regulations and other requirements are followed. Let us know if you have more questions! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
As to question #1 from anonymous. That is, as you said, a battery issue. I would bet money that the causation is in the charger or the outlet it is plugged into. I had the same issue with a Taylor Dunn immediately after we purchased it (used...2002 model) and, after replacing the batteries, realized the on board Lister charger was turning off sometime shortly after bring plugged in by an employee. He was plugging it into a heavy duty footlong extension cord with a triple head. What was happening was that the weight of the cord added to the already heavy end of the extension cord was causing the male end of the extension cord to seperate far enough from the outlet that the connection was compromised. I walked past it one night, heard a rapid clicking sound and realized what was happening. Unfortunately, that stroke of luck didn't rectify the problem. The several nights of having a weak connection to the outlet resulted in a terminal meltdown of a relay inside the charger. Not your "run of the mill" relay... soldered to a secondary board that in turn bolted to the main board. Turned out to be the most expensive three terminal relay in the known universe. In short, brand new batteries don't just fail, they are forced to fail by "something" else. 🤔
That's great input, Dale! So glad to hear you were able to figure that out and come up with a solution. Thanks for checking in.. Cheers!
3:39 I have a 2023 lithium Club Car that has been in storage mode. I put it in run mode, unplugged it, turned on the key and it will not move forward or backward. The battery shows an 80% charge
Thanks for watching, Charles! There could be a number of issues there, possibly with the battery, charger, gauge, or F/R switch. We'll have some follow up questions. You can get an appt for a video call diagnosis here: www.golfcartgarage.com/gearheads-on-demand/ or get in touch directly at Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
My daughter has a 1992 EZ Go 48 volt electric cart. The previous owner has replaced a lot of the electrics and I just had the speed control rebuilt. I am new to golf carts. After putting the controller back in it goes in reverse but not in forward despite getting voltage on both forward and reverse setting. ANy ideas?
Thanks for watching, Gary! A 1992 EZGO should not be factory released as a 48V vehicle. We'll have some follow up questions. You can get an appt for a video call diagnosis here: www.golfcartgarage.com/gearheads-on-demand/ or get in touch directly at Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
Hi I have a 1992 electric golf cart it has 6 batterys I have to fill them with water and I have a summit 2 charger al 4 light stay on the battery won't charge what can I do thanks
Thanks for watching, Ronny! We'll have some follow up questions from our techs, but we'd start with a load test on those batteries and checking the Summit II manual for the specific light fault you're seeing. We can help if you get in touch directly. Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
My cart made it about 150 feet from my barn before it died. I have to git my Zero Turn mower to tow it back to the garage. Hooked up the charger, nothing. So, hit the internet, found your site and followed your instructions on partially charging 2 six volt batteries for 8 minutes each, plugged in the charger and BAM! It started charging. Would this work to get a stranded golf cart enough power to get home?
Theoretically, yes. This procedure is really meant to get your regular charger to recognize your batteries and turn on to do a full charge. Tim, just be honest, I bought a 2009 Ruff & Tuff 48 volts, 4 wheel drive, disc brakes and everything on it. I ran it for 8 months and it did great, a real strong and fast cart. My son took it to the beach for a week and my grand daughter told me that my son ran it out of juice because he didn't charge it up and they pulled it in by my wrench cable. When they brought it back, i drove it off the trailer and it did fine. About 6 weeks later, I went to charge it up and my charger is in where the batteries are, I went the next day and they are not charged. All of my batteries was out of water. One of the six batteries is only five months old and the others are 18 months. I filled them up with distilled water and charged them again and still will not charge. I put my amp meter to them, the 5 month battery reads 6.8 and the rest is showing 3 to a 4. A lot of people has told me I bough a piece of junk because Ruff & Tuff is no longer in business. What do you think Tim? Now I am seeing where I can revive these with a welder and also with salt. I have talked with a couple of men and they told me this did work for them. What do you think about this welder thing and do you think all of this is my sons fault> Thank You Tim
Thanks for watching, William! OK, so Ruff&Tuff is harder to shop for than EZGO or Club Car because it's more of a "boutique" brand where you may need a dealer for parts. But, with batteries, it's not much different than any cart. If you've run out of water, had intermittent charging, or the charger is malfunctioning... that could cause battery damage. The batteries reading 3/4 should be load tested or professionally refurbished, if not replaced. We cannot comment on welding or DIY refurbishing for liability reasons, as that includes hazmat considerations. We have frequently heard, just like you, that home refurbishing batteries does not always work. Let us know if you have more questions. Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934
I can't find the serial number anywhere.
Thanks for watching, Julio! On most Club Cars, it should be near the passenger feet or underneath the seat. If it's been removed, you could send us some photos and we'll try to help. Support@GolfCartGarage.com
