Ruby should narrate documentaries on TV professionally. The one scene where she's standing in front of Scone Palace totally felt like something out of a documentary and I love it!!!
I was just about to comment that I could imagine Ruby presenting a history or travel programme! If you see this Ruby- is that something you'd ever be interested in doing?
When I saw the notification of a 42 minutes long video by Ruby, i eventually grabbed my mug of tea to dive into the world of fantasy with you! You know the skill to get the most out of your visits. Thank you so much for being you ruby. Love❤️

I am from Edinburgh(the outskirts) and I watched every minute of your video. Engrossed the whole way through. Scotland is gorgeous, I take yearly trips to various villages or islands with my friends and it always takes my breath away. Your video was 10/10 and captured a sufficient amount of rain to make it authentic. 😅
What a lovely trip to share with your mother. It brought many memories of trips to Scotland many moons ago, one of which was with my Mum who was Scottish. It’s a magical landscape, and you’re right: there’s nothing like a good Scottish drizzle!!
I'm only about 10 minutes in. I'm going to try and savor this long video, bit by bit, because I don't want it to end. I've wanted to visit Scotland since 199t when BRAVEHEART came out! (Yes, yes, I know parts were filmed in Ireland. I would love to visit both places!) Beautiful trip so far! And priceless memories to create with your mother. Thanks for sharing!
That church is where Charles Dickens got inspired to write a Christmas Carol. Festinating to hear that. You must be blessed to be at Scotland with you mom for a visit around a magnificent town. You're lucky to have her like a friend. Thanks for the video.
Ruby, your writing is beautiful, never be afraid to share your work, it’s enchanting. ‘ now the day sleeps ‘ is beautiful…..you are one very talented lady.
Easily one of the best videos you have ever made and I have seen on UA-cam in a long long while. Beautifully done ruby! I watched it twice already, the music, the relationship amongst you and your mum.. and your poetry goes beautifully with the images you collected in this video!! Well done!!
I always enjoy watching these videos, they motivate me to improve myself and appreciate the smaller things in life so much. I appreciate Ruby so much for sharing these parts of her life, and for inspiring me to be more productive and to reach for my goals in life. Thank you so much!!
You must be the most positive and wholesome UA-camr out there! The ways you and your mum look at the world are amazing, inspiring. I liked your poetry, too. Thank you - I was looking for someone who might inspire me with the 'Academia' look; and yet every other UA-camr I found tried to lead me down into some dark places I didn't want to follow. I don't mean 'Dark Academia' - as a concept devoid of anything else, that's just the flipside of an aesthetic coin. I wish you well in all of your endeavours! 🙂 God bless. PS; I'm a Londoner who lives in Scotland.
I've booked tickets to see the snow Queen ballet for my boyfriends birthday in November and we are travelling to Edinburgh for the weekend for it. This has made me even more excited!! The way you have put this video together is so beautiful Ruby xx
I number of years ago , before the visitors center, I took a boat across Loch Ness up to Urquhart Castle and felt something squeeze at my heart. I've been to Scotland 4 times now but it never ceases to amaze me and I fall in love with it more each time. There is something about it's wild beauty that even time seems to stand still for. I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries but it is Scotland that always remains my favorite.
I'm so excited to see this video! I'm going for a holiday in Scotland next month and I'm planning to do all the bookish things so this vlog comes at a perfect time!
i have just left Scotland for university and it's so nice to see places i associate with 'home' through the appreciative gaze of a visitor! i'll look forward to visiting more of my country when i return to it. glad you both had a lovely time
Ive enjoyed watching this so much, thank you Ruby to you and your mum. I always love it how rain is your best weather! It does make it atmospheric. My mum gave me a lifelong love of books and reading. She was my best friend, and miss her. But its lovely to watch you and your mum. Would love to follow your footsteps on this Scottish adventure one day. Always the best for you, you work so hard.
I love Scotland and especially Edinburgh, too! My daughter and I went during the Fringe Festival in 2015. Completely coincidental timing, we'd never heard of the Fringe Festival. It was so interesting! You don't mention visiting Edinburgh Castle, did you have a chance to see it? Thank you so much for bringing us along on your trip. 🙂 I do recommend the book "The Fair Botanists" by Sara Sheridan. It's set in 1822 Edinburgh and centers around the Botanic Garden and two women, one a botanical illustrator and one a perfumist. A very interesting read!
oh, Ruby! This is the 4th time i have watched this wonderful tour with yourMum. And it is simply magic. the sweetness of y'all's relationship, the appreciation of all things Scottish, the places you visited combined with my hope of one day getting to take it in for myself is such a cozy pleasure. what an excellent tour!
how amazing places to watch for al of us who have never been to Scottland and maybe would never do! Thank you so much for that! It's so obvious you and your mum enjoyed to the fullest your travelling there! I especially love your positivity and open spirit! It's so vital in our day and age of hustle, pessimism and anxiousness...
What a wonderful glimpse into what Scotland has to offer … absolutely magical. I’m so inspired to visit. Thanks again Ruby for another lovely video and loved seeing you and your Mum having such a memorable time together ☺️
I literally squeeled when I saw Leahy's Bookshop! I looks so cool and cozy and ughhh I want to go there... (Same with all the beautiful landscapes... My heart aches every time I see images of Scottish landscapes.) And I wanted to say I really liked the second poem you wrote, about Artemis and the doe.
Outstanding! I love Scotland so much & I also really love Edinburgh! This was such an enjoyable experience! From experiencing the enchanting & charming City of Edinburgh, with all its incredible sights & sounds, as well as, such delicious looking food at really unique Restaurants & Cafes. To drinking in the beautiful views & scenery of the Lochs, Hills & Woodland walks of the higher country. On top of that, was seeing the interesting Museums & Exhibits and quaint Bookshops that you visited. Along with the lovely Hotels & cozy B&B's you stayed at. This journey was truly incredible from start to finish! Above all, though, was hearing your amazing Poetry! You are truly gifted! Your Poems have such depth & beauty and are deeply moving, reaching down into the heart & soul. One can also see that your Poetry truly reflects who you clearly are as a person! You are the best & most gifted Poet I have ever come across in this day & age and I love Poetry! As well as, I have read a lot of Poetry! I have only heard this caliber of Poetry from Poets of long ago. This is indeed very rare! Thank you for sharing this truly delightful experience!📖🌳🙂

Ruby, I literally cried while you were reading your poetry. It was so moving and brave to share ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing it, might not have been Easy. It honestly made my evening ✨
Hello Ruby, I just wanted to say that this is such a lovely video, thank you so much for uploading it for all of us to see. Your relationship with your mother reminds me so much of me and my own mother. I am very glad to see that you seem to have such a great connection to your whole family. That swim in the ocean looked very cold but I'm sure it made a great memory, haha. Now I definitely want to go to Scotland one day! I hope you had a marvelous time and that all is well with you.
when i saw this was 43 minutes i screamed of happiness! i've just sprained my ankle and can't do anything but lay down all day. im so happy this is so long!

This was lovely Ruby and even more special since you got to share it with your mum, the scenery was beautiful makes me want to explore more and get about alot more, thank you so much for sharing, this will be one video to look back on again and especially for you and your mum
The hype when Danse Macabre started playing around 40:30! It's one of my favourite pieces of classical music! Also absolutely adored the video, I've been meaning to visit Scotland for so long and this video might have inspired me to go there next year 😊
This is absolutely one of the best videos you’ve ever produced. The colors, the music and the countryside were spectacular. Still can’t get my mind around how the Brits drive on the wrong side of the road.
I *wish* that all your videos were this long! It feels like you did so much in a relatively short time. I was planning on going to Paris next year for my 40th, but now I'm debating Edinburgh instead... Wonderful video, thank you for taking us along!
Oh Ruby I just loved this I am from America and have been to Scotland 4 times. I love the culture, the people and the beauty! Its been awhile since Ive been back so this vlog made me happy and eager to return!!!!! ❤❤
You make me feel lucky to live here - sometimes it's hard to appreciate what's "in your back yard". Although it's trendy for British people to go weekend breaks to Barcelona, and it is a lovely city, I think Edinburgh makes for a lovely romantic weekend trip too - even when it's raining! "There's no such thing as bad weather - only inappropriate clothing".
Unfortunately, I know English very poorly and understand only half of the conversations, but I watched this video to the end with great pleasure thanks to your sincere smile and pleasant voice. Once again, I am convinced that there are no language barriers, and I had great pleasure despite the fact that I do not know English well. You are amazing, good luck to you!
Wow! Scotland is beautiful. I'm glad you got to experience it. Right now I'm cozied up with a spiced cranberry herbal tea and cuddled up, binging watching your autumnal videos. Glad you and your mom had so much fun.
An interesting and also disturbing thing about the land in Scotland is that 1/5 of our land is used for grouse shooting. The heather you see is often burned in places because the new shoots attract the grouse. Also just to say I loved this vlog from you! Its so interesting even for someone who lives in Scotland.
So glad you went on a holiday with your mom. What a great memory for the both of you. I liked your poetry. Your really good, you know! 🤗🤓Til next video! Thanks for sharing! 💗
Honestly, if you're going to get stuck in a car anywhere Scotland is the place for it. Having just recently visited myself, it is one of if THE most beautiful place on earth. Can't wait to take a trip back there soon.
Long time ago(maybe 4years ago), I visited in Scotland. I still remember the beautiful times. I’m happy because i rememberd the good feelings, thanks to you//
My last trip to Scotland (Edinburgh and the Isle of Skye) was May 2018. I took photos of that humongous clock too! That was a great trip. Glad to see you were enjoying yours with your mom and having a great time. I felt emotional watching this video. Thank you very much for sharing this fantastic week of yours.
Absolutely loved your vlog of Scotland! I am very proud of my heritage and you described it so well! I need to visit again soon! Mum and Dad are so lucky to have you as a daughter x
What a delight to happen upon your trip to Scotland. (Going there really needs to be on my bucket list.) I appreciate your schwa de vivre and literary sensitivities. Seeing young readers gives me hope.
Scotland is truly magical and well done on such a great promotion of this amazing place. I totally agree Edinburgh at nightime is special as i tend to make a yearly weekend visit to Edinburgh during the winter so i get to spend more time in the dark.

Although it's trendy for British people to go weekend breaks to Barcelona, and it is a lovely city, I think Edinburgh makes for a lovely romantic weekend trip too - even when it's raining! "There's no such thing as bad weather - only inappropriate clothing".
You have some of the calmest videos. Great work, Ruby.
So pleased you enjoyed Scotland so much, love from 🏴xx
I’m happy because i rememberd the good feelings, thanks to you//
I've been to Edinburgh three times, but I still can't get my gead around how incredible it is.
It'so calming to watch your videos and it brings us to another universe
My last trip to Scotland (Edinburgh and the Isle of Skye) was May 2018. I took photos of that humongous clock too! That was a great trip. Glad to see you were enjoying yours with your mom and having a great time. I felt emotional watching this video. Thank you very much for sharing this fantastic week of yours.
Thank you both for taking with us. A dream trip that I am able to take with you virtually.
I love your relationship with your mum, so so beautiful ❤️ thank you for visiting Scotland, it suits you! We'd love to have you back 🥰
Absolutely loved your vlog of Scotland!
That'll be the unicorns.
I loved this video!! We need more long form from Ruby! I also loved your poetry! All around great content and some much needed escapism!
I’m just desperate to visit Scotland but am unable to travel right now so this vlog is just what I needed! 🥰
I loved hearing your poems Ruby thanks for sharing them and with the back drop of your magical holiday they were even lovelier ❤❤❤

I hope you like it! And scotland is BEAUTIFUL! Do you live in a rural or urban area? 😊💗
@@RubyGranger8 I live in more of an urban area near Edinburgh, and it has such a great atmosphere, but I would love to live in a more rural area one day because I love being in nature and there are some beautiful places out there! 😊🍂
@@RubyGranger8 Also, it means soo much that you replied! ☺ I didn't think my day could get any better after finding an amazing video from you but turns out it could
Same ❤
Even your luggage looks vintage. So wonderfully on brand for you. I really enjoy your videos. One of the bookish things I did today was that I participated in my very first bookbinding workshop. The method/technique we did today was the 'secret belgian binding' 🙂
When I am free, it is reading that makes me calm down and have a good day
Ruby, your travel vlogs are amazing. Your poetry is beautiful, and you read thrm aloud so beautifully!!
I always enjoy your travel vlogs! It makes me feel like I’m there with you and always makes me want to go traveling to different areas! You always make me feel inspired and productive!
